Charged yearly fee literally the only day that would make my account go.36 over the limit. No notification of "account fee" listed anywhere. Why is the fee for the card 1/6th of the total card limit? Thats literally insane.
Capital one will take your money and not give you credit like they should, even if the bank confirmed the payment. Hold on credit for paying my bill randomly. Previously with another account I had a hit on my credit for their system being inaccurate and saying I paid late on every payment even though they were made promptly.
Of all the credit card companies I transact business with, Capital One is the worst! They have terrible customer service who can not help at all when you call - they don't even try. I have had an account with them for over 20 years and I STILL can't get decent help with I call. STAY AWAY!
They only issue monthly statements if there is activity, otherwise it's every few months. For our savings acct (which held our down payment), there was no activity thus we couldn't easily satisfy lenders needs for proof of funds. We had to call and spend ton of time getting a "one time courtesy" special statement, which still wasn't adequate for lender. Lender is triangulating with screenshot of transaction history. All this to say we will be very happy to no longer have money at Capitol One. Much too difficult to use when buying a house.
I just realized today that Capital One is guilty of false advertisement and bait & switch. They advertise offers that claim allowances for balance transfers, but they don't actually allow it at all (NEVER customer initiated like other cc providers) during the life of an open account. You have to receive an "offer to transfer" after their underwriters "review" your account. There are no specific times and customers have no idea when transfer offers are available. The customer cannot initiate this action on their own. Further, they do not allow customers to make payments on their accounts using another credit card. This is my first time using cc's, so I'm not sure if their practices are industry standard. Either way, this is one of the reasons why I've stayed away from using these plastic traps for so long. Trickery at its worst! Big mistake on my end... never again!
I called in to get a new card, because Capital one let the same merchant take off my card twice for the same transaction and the lady Gina #ZHJ750 was rude going to say she will hang up and rather I get a new card or not if a merchant take off your card once they can take off again. What T.F it sound like I need to close my account. Half the time I can't even understand what they are saying, then they get a attitude when you ask to speak to someone else. If there were no customers calling in you would have NO JOB. Worst company to deal with.
Purchased a product from a vendor that was not made like I asked and after sending them text messages and photos of the item they still did not issue me a credit and sided with the vendor even though the item was clearly not what I asked for. I waited 4 months and threw away $425.00. I guess they prefer me to keep the item so that I can continue to pay them for it. Customer service person just talked in riddles and asked me to submit info I already submitted. The first customer service person asked me to hold for almost 5 minutes only to hang up on me so I had to call back. I do not recommend this card and sorry i applied for it. I no longer want this card and will do my best to pay it off and not use it (Capital One Walmart Credit card)
Disputed transaction but the merchant still got the money, Capital One released the money to them even when I clearly communicated not to. Very disappointed, closing my credit card with them, don't need a bank who doesn't have my back and isn't capable of protecting my money
I have a capital one platinum card and I'm a cancer patient I need to be able to access the funds for travel to and from treatments. And everyime I pay the balance of they put a 7 day hold on the payment. I have treatments scheduled for 7:30 am Monday and they won't release the funds till Wednesday. I'm going to have to cancel the appointment. This is literally life threatening and they don't care.credit one is definitely a better option they have the option to post payments and credit availability instantly with a small service charge I suggest you think long and hard before falling into capital one's trap.
They lied to me and sent my credit card to someone else and they said the address is right but the address wasn't right the told me it was but it wasn't so I would not recommend capital one for their credit cards at all
I opened a new credit card, I met the requirements but I was told I won't have that $200 bonus reward. Don't choose this bank, it is fraudulent!
Absolutely the worst service I've ever seen, I had to call 9 times at an automated number to get even the bot to answer. After a rep answered they messed up my account so now I can no longer set it up, I called again and another rep(after giving them my ssn) said they need to verify that it's me. I JUST GAVE THEM MY SSN WHAT THE $#*! MAKES YOU THINK ITS NOT ME. Long story short after a long back and forth they decided that since I wouldn't continue jumping through hoops for them, the call was no longer needed and it was ended.
A disgrace of a company fees and interest rates when I close my account I'll never get another again
Capital one NO GOOD. I've been with capital one for 3 years never missed a payment. NOT One LATE payment always on time 3 years and my credit limit is still 300$. I've gotten other cards after capital one same thing starting@ $300 credit limit, and within one year the credit card limit shot up from $2000 to $4000.I will never recommend capital one to nobody. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME like I did.
I can't believe I wasted so much time for a credit card that I had for years. It as been nothing but making copies and faxing. The time on the phone alone was three weeks of talking to people that don't even speak English. They mumble and can't understand a thing. I don't even know why they restricted my credit card. They just keep saying it's blurry. I can not go to the Motor vehicles for having it taken again. They are impossible. My ID was the same all my life. I can not figure it out.
I pay rediculously high on my monthly statement and it keeps going up in my monthly payments even when I don't use the credit card
I needed a simple phone number update I was belittled speaking to foreigners there was a language barrier at which the made numeric mistakes and made it seem as if my fault no accountability. No proper English used with American citizens which is sad if call center outsourced to another country. 2 superb failed me and didn't want to help me update my number when I sent in all paperwork proving my identity. No proper notes very sad. I learned my lesson and will never do business with any out of country companies.I'm already weary of my information yet I know longer have trust in the company
After 8 years of having a credit card with no late payment, paid in full every month they closed my account. 800+ credit score, with no debt. Seems dumb to me but I guess I don't know very much. Perhaps they are looking for customers that default or pay late. Still waiting over 60 days for Capital One to issue my rewards back to me that I earned over the last 8 years. Apparently they except me to pay them every month but its a different standard if the money is going the opposite way.
I have been a Capital One customer for over 15 yrs. An excellent customer who has paid my bills on time. For the last 5 yrs., I haven't charged on Capital One but keep the credit cards open and pay the annual fee of $39.00. In March 2023, I missed making the yearly payment. I called customer service they waived the late fee, and I paid $39.00. There was.70 cent of interest. I was unaware since I thought I paid the entire bill. Today, I received an alert from my credit protection that I am 30 days delinquent with Capital One for $5.00 WTF.
I called Capital One, thinking it would be an easy fix to be insulted by the customer service representative asking me to grab a pen so she could explain. I don't need an explanation! Capital One has reported me to the Credit Bureau for a.70 cent interest and can't reverse it. I know for a fact that is not a true statement. They can reverse it, again, insulting my intelligence.
I closed all three of my account with Captial One. The representative said, "You won't be able to charge anymore" No, really, "closed."
Captial One should be more diligent in hiring representatives that appreciate long-standing customers. Good luck!
Your (Processing) department sucks messes up everything...3-5 for processing smh... would deal with anybody but then again smh
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
Answer: From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.
Answer: They offered nice rewards back It sounded more impressive than it is. Big mistake.
Answer: This is the same issue I'm having with Capital One. They make mistakes and then drag their feet and act like nothing is wrong.
