I opened up a 360 checking account using it as normal then all of a sudden one day I got this yellow flag on my app I co-op they told me that they do not want to do business with me anymore. They didn't explain why and the lady actually told me we had the right to close down your account without any explanation. We don't have to explain anything to you so I am waiting for $1000 to be mailed to me which was supposed to be for my car insurance which now my car insurance lapsed because of them and I got no pre-warning.
I have reported fraud on my credit card,( I attached an image so you can check the cancelation date and the date they still charging me using the same account)
I'm thinking about 2 things:
1- Their security measurement is very weak!
2-Or they are against their customer
Note: I don't recommend anyone to use Capitalone or their credit card
This is the worst experience I have ever had with a bank or credit card company. I noticed a few weeks ago that two cash withdrawals totalling £380 had been taken from my account. I never, never withdraw cash using a credit card due (a) to the high charges and (b) to the fact that I have more than enough in my bank account to cover any cash requirements I may have. I contacted them to report the matter and they told me to destroy my existing card and they would send me another. They also said they would investigate the fraudulent activity. Initially, they refunded one of the withdrawals quite quickly and, when I contacted them, said they were still investigating the other but credited the amount anyway. They then informed me that they had concluded this was not fraudulent activity and intended to charge me for the withdrawals and the associated charges. I was completely shocked. I live alone and no one has access to my card or a pin number. In addition, in the many years I have been with this company I have never once withdrawn cash on a card. Suddenly they were implying that at the age of 68, having never in my life been involved in any form of criminality or financial impropriety, I was attempting to defraud them of £380 or colluding with someone else to do so. I appealed the decision but they refused to overturn it saying it was "not possible" to reach any other conclusion other than my having used the card myself or allowed someone else to do so. Well, they are wrong and I am both beyond furious, and extremely upset, by this event. Just a cursory look at my account history should indicate that this was totally unusual activity. An almost identical thing happened to a friend of mine with an Amex card a while ago and they refunded the money immediately. This is so wrong, and while I will appeal to the Financial Ombudsman and disseminate the details of this experience as widely as I can to warn others, I am left feeling pretty helpless and badly used by this experience. This company is not acting in good faith. If they want people to use their products they should be prepared to compensate fir fraudulent activity due, I can only conclude, to inadequate safety measures on their part.
The only reason for the one star is to post review. Think twice about using this company when making high-priced charges for major purchases; if things go awry with the transaction/product, there will be no help from Capitol One in your negotiations with the vendor
I have to say that in the beginning I absolutely loved the card and company but over the years things have changed I called up your not so great customer service to see about lowering my interest rate for a short period of time so I could breathe and to get ahead and I'm one of those customers that pays above and beyond my payments and never ever been that so when I ask the were like no and that was it PERIOD didn't even try to help or look into my account after that interaction I no longer like capital one or the company I will never refer anyone to apply for a cc once my card is paid off I'm closing that account down and once my car loan is done I'm closing that down also I get it they are this big Mickey Mouse company that could give two craps about me but I have a year and half on my car loan and then I'm done pos company if someone is thinking about getting there a cc from them DONT DO IT I'm also going to the BBB
I thought they were different, maybe i was influenced by their commercials or star power - I have a been a bank customer and credit card holder for years - but i have made a costly mistake. They do not care about you, they just want your $$ and once they have them they do not care how they manipulate the rules to their advantage. I was told by the bank a cashier checks was like cash so depositing a cashiers check you would thinks funds should be available quickly maybe 24 - 48 hours- not at Capital one - they hold it for over a week telling you that it could be fraud.you call to get info and they won't tell you anything - in the meantime they are earning sustantial interest. We know how the banking system works, business use positve pay to verify transactions, checks clear central bank in a day so why hold it a week? They could have called the number to verify but they say they can't but at the same time do not offer anyway to help you. I learned my lesson - going forward i will use a local bank and you should too - they will do what they can to accomadate you going that extra mile.
Capital one was fine at first, until I had to pay my bill... then they needed the Bank Proof of Ownership BullSh!t? Never have I had to do this with any other account or card, EVER! In June, I made the payment, which cleared almost immediately, then my account was suddenly "Restricted" and I got a message to call in. I did and talked with someone who barely spoke English and was visibly following the script. I submitted the requested document, no calls, I call them and that wasn't the right thing, I send different docs, they never call, I call them and that's not right either. I then send them the first page of my bank statement because I don't think they need to see 6 pages of transactions. That's none of their f~cking business! Wait more time and that's a no go too because it is incomplete. Fine, I send the whole thing and a voided check because my bank statement only shows the last 4 of my account, they need the whole number? Who the f~ck writes these policies? Seriously? Started this process June 22nd, it's almost August... unf~ckingbelievable
Horrible, HORRIBLE company to deal with, they will never call you so unless you call them every other day, don't expect anything to ever happen, my advice, choose a better company, don't make the same mistake I, and obviously many others have, STAY THE F~CK AWAY FROM CAPITAL ONE!
Don't get this card! Despite paying on time and over the minimum payment they kept charging me the late fees! When I called customer service they laughed saying I wasn't paying the full monthly amount! My bill went over 500 of wrongly late fees.
Capital One's retail banking services are abysmal throughout the entire engagement cycle, from using the app to speaking with customer service. My complaints primarily stem from graduating my unsecured card, which I have had for upwards of 14 months – there is no finite timeline as to when this is slated to occur, the staff are utterly incompetent in terms of providing information or progressing the process and the system is inherently broken since there are no guaranteed re-evaluations of credit beyond 1 year. The overall process is about as bearable and time-consuming as attempting to remove toe fungus. Bank anywhere else if you value your time and sanity.
This company has always been a joke. They use to be a company that extended credit to people who had a hard time getting credit. Now, they've taken on all kinds of things, like regular banking and auto financing, and think they're the best. They aren't, they're still just that crappy company they've always been.
I read review ratings where most people say that they didn't have a deposit fee. I was offered a debit credit card from capital one mail that I received recently for a total low as $200 and they still won't me to pay a $99 deposit fee before I can receive the card, so basically their actually only offering me $101 once I pay $99 out of my own pocket, unbelievably ridiculous insane. I already have the Walmart credit card from them and the interest rate is extremely high once I make my payment each month for $30 they take it all except from $8 or $10 every month on a $800 credit limit and I've only received one credit limit increase since I had the card and that was about two years ago but I had the card about four years now...
I made a substantial transfer from my checking accountant at Bank of America to my Savings Account with Capital One. I put the transfer in 4 days ago and according to the Capital One Account it will take another two days. 6 (SIX) DAYS for the funds to be in my account. In this day of electronic transfers that is just unbelievable. Are they using the Pony Express to bring it from Bank of Americas HQ in Charlotte to Capital One's HQ in Richmond, VA. Come to think of it, the Pony Express could probably do that in ONE DAY!
After my daughter's mother died, we closed one of her checking accounts at another bank. My daughter made the mistake of depositing it into her Capital One checking account, and the money was lost. They told her the money was immediately available and to destroy the check, which is unfortunately did. It immediately cleared at the other bank, but Capital One says there is a TWO MONTH hold on it, even though it's cleared. Our daughter now cannot pay her college tuition this quarter. She called them several times, as did I. They were completely unhelpful. Avoid this bank.
Their Customers Service reps, can barely speak english, for starters, Who is teaching them to speak? They talk faster than speedy gonzales. Its a cartoom reference if you are a kid. Look up the name. Americans speak slower, and the automated service is crap. When i call Customer service i want a person, Not a bunch of BS. Oh And verifying im me one time should be good enough. But 4 times, its like you really are just trying to upset us here.
I applied for credit card a month ago, and I was asked through the link to provide some documents for verifications, which I did submitted online the next couple of days. I haven't heard from them the whole month, due to the emplotees neglegents and not even looking at the application. They did hard credit check anf effected my credit score. I just called now she said, Oh it could be the image you have sent were not clear! What? You could have notified me. I've had credit card and car loan from them in the past. The images were clear as water.
Worst customer service EVER. You will literally be running around in circles and get hung up on with no resolution.
Capital one sucks!takes over a month for the review process and they do not communicate with you and tell you they are waiting for documents, you just get denied.Complete scam and waste of time!
I disputed a charge after being overcharged the wrong amount. The merchant didn't even wanna speak with me and she didn't even speak English. Complete con artist. I explained to the Capital One representative that I got screwed over and I tried to speak to the merchant. There was also a camera in the lobby that evens shows the merchant not wanting to speak with me. It was only a super small amount. Well two months later, my claim got denied. Because it's based of "quality of service, and I need to contact the merchant". Are you kidding me?! I made it super clear that I tried to speak the merchant who didn't know English and screwing people over. Capital One use to be really good. But they have completely degraded themselves.
Horrendous bank - over and over again mistakes and The most inconvenient bank on the planet - not recommended for people who travel outside of the country - will be closing my account effectively immediately!
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
Answer: From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.
Answer: They offered nice rewards back It sounded more impressive than it is. Big mistake.
Answer: This is the same issue I'm having with Capital One. They make mistakes and then drag their feet and act like nothing is wrong.
