The company enjoys a reputation for trendy clothing and good material quality, appealing to a younger audience despite some sizing concerns, particularly regarding their "one size fits all" approach. However, significant issues plague their customer service, with frequent reports of order mishaps, unresponsive support, and inadequate return policies. Customers express frustration over long wait times for resolutions, perceived incompetence, and a lack of accountability when errors occur. The overall sentiment reflects a stark contrast between product appeal and a disappointing service experience, highlighting a critical need for improvement in customer support practices.

Several close friends of mine have worked at the Brandy Melville store in Santana Row, and what they've shared is beyond disturbing. This store exemplifies the brand's toxic core: racism, body shaming, invasive policies, and zero respect for employees. Hiring is based solely on physical appearance -- specifically, being white, thin, and fitting the brand's narrow, Eurocentric "look." Women of color are routinely given fewer hours, passed over for opportunities, and treated like they don't belong. No amount of work ethic or loyalty matters if you don't meet their aesthetic standards. At the end of every shift, employees are forced to open their purses and bags to be checked for theft. It's humiliating and degrading. There is no trust -- just suspicion. But it gets worse: Brandy Melville Santana Row has a pattern of firing employees in bulk, without warning, explanation, or performance review. The excuse? They're "refreshing the look." That's right -- hardworking young women are dismissed because management wants "new faces" to maintain a specific visual aesthetic. It's shallow, discriminatory, and unethical. This is not just poor management -- it's systemic abuse wrapped in a brand that markets exclusion as style. Corporate knows about it. They don't care. They've built a culture where only image matters, and people are disposable. If you value human dignity, workers' rights, or basic decency, do not shop at Brandy Melville -- and especially not at Santana Row. This brand is not just out of touch. It's dangerous.
The headquarters has ignored several letters from the employees, families and the community and it is time to make their toxic culture known to public.
Package has been lost for over 20 days now and they tell me a investigation will take 15 more days. That its Fed Ex peak season which is not true. I spoke to someone at Fed Ex. There customer service people obviously just say the same lie so they can end up keeping your money. Do not order from these people!
There doors are to small and fat people can't even shop thier they are horrible and they suck so bad.
Without question the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I've called several times to get an update regarding my order because they continue to cancel my order for no reason. No response on email. Every time I call it's somebody that's entirely incompetent who says that they can't help me that I have to wait for an email response. I've been mid-sentence and hung up on many times. Truly the most pathetic excuse for customer service!
The package I had ordered was delivered to the wrong address. I emailed and chatted with their customer service who said I would have to wait 15 days for FedEx to review my case before they could do anything. They had me send in photos of my front door where you can clearly see that is not the front door on the FedEx picture. I called FedEx who said that because Brandy Melville uses economy ground, not only do they not have a case open, they CAN'T open a case because it's the shipper (Brandy Melville) who is responsible for refunding or replacing my package. So not only and I now out $88.32, they lied about it. Horrible Customer Service! And the phone customer service hung up on me. As you can see in the picture, the house they delivered to is white and has a metal door. My house is light yellow and has a glass door.
I bought an XS item, they sent me One Size huge item and when I informed their mistake they said the item was sent correctly.
I had to pay shipping for a wrong item sent. And shipping again to return the wrong item, and they won't just do anything about it.
Will never buy from them again!
Do NOT do business with this company! I tried 4 times to place an order - each time it was cancelled with no explanation
My 13 year old daughter recently purchased a shirt online and Brandy Melville put the wrong address on the label so FedEx delivered it to the wrong address! They refused to help in anyway and even though it was their error.
We purchased the Anastaisa tie sweatpants ($35) on Saturday, Oct 7 while on vacation in New York (Soho store). When I washed them, the waist band string completely came apart (see photos below and attached). This was the response from their customer service! What a joke! We will never buy anything from there again!
I'm so sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, once an item's tags are removed, we can no longer accept this item as a return/exchange, particularly if it has been washed. Once an item is washed, the customer is fully responsible for the product.
I liked the material and in general the clothes all tho the sizes are unacceptable. I cannot believe that there are still shops that don't have sizes. I am a size S-M and the sweatpants don't fit very good. It's not only me that I am complaining about that but everyone.
Oversized zip up hoodie, zipper pulled apart from stitching after wearing about 3 times. Customer service said sorry, once you take tags off not their responsibility! Really not their responsibility to make clothes that last longer then a few days.
My daughter placed an order which was stolen from the porch of our house. Footage of the thieves was provide and they could not even care. Customer Service would not even attempt to resolve the problem. Biggest waste of money. Never again will my family order any items from this store. Very disappointed with the customer service provided.
I purchased a substantial order from Brandy Melville online for my 2 daughters for Xmas. I purchased on December 1st to be sure they would not be sold out and I would receive everything on time for Xmas. Although my daughters generally love the brand, not all items were a hit. It is now January 3rd and I tried to return the items that did not work out only to be told that they would not refund them. I can only get a store credit after 30 days of purchase. This is very disappointing considering that most people don't get around to returns until after the holidays are over, and that most stores give a longer grace period for returns due to the holidays. I don't think i will purchase from them again unless they have a friendlier return policy.

I went to Brandymelville in Bondi junction and gave the counter lady $50 bucks in cash, and the top that I was getting was $28 and 28-50 =22 and she only gave me $12 I should of counted but it's there job.
Melbourne store situated near an eating disorder clinic! Accidental? I don't think so given the target market.
Appalled at the fact the sizes primarily target x small and small.
Disgraceful
I absolutely love Brandy Melville's clothes, so much variety, good quality, and fairly priced. Online shopping is a great experience, no complaints. On the other hand when I've been to the stores in person, there were many times when the employees were extremely rude. Wether it was paying no attention to me while checking out, not helping find clothes I aksed for, or overall a large sense of judgment when you walk in; the customer service is all in all unenjoyable, and very poor.
Tbh it was my first time at brandymellville yesterday.it wasnt so bad as people make it seem like. I have big and wide shoulders so some of the shirts were tight on the shoulder. But overall the shirts are really stretchy n amazing quality I love it. I don't recommend the pants because they're really small my sistsr is really skinny and they didnt fit her. Bit id youre plus-sized the shirts will definitely fit fs.
I was wrongfully accused of theft for a 5 dollars item at the store after I had repeatedly explained to the security guard that I did not step out of store and I was planning to pay for it before I leave the store. Not just my explanation was completely ignored, I was yelled at for no reason, accused of being a thief without any evidence, humiliated in front of every customer who were present at the store, and threatened by the security guard. Even though they realized that it was a misunderstanding after my friend talked to the store manager, they did not apologize.
I am low-key fat and I usually fit in most of this stuff! So please, be conscious of what you say on the internet. I am very aware that Brandy is " one size fits all" when they are usually meant for smaller people. I am usually a medium adult or even a large adult in size and I am 180 pounds and 13 years old and 5'1, but I still fit in most of these clothes because they are pretty stretchy. I just don't recommend getting pants/jeans from here because they are very tight and made for people who are size 0-2! Thank you!
Very poor service. Stick to something faster and more reliable. Roll the dice and see if you get in 2-3 weeks.
Answer: I call them a scam also. Calling my credit card company tomorrow to refute the charge. They should be investaged. I am pdddddddd and angry aunt.
Answer: Not easy at all. In fact, it's impossible. They do not answer the phone, respond to emails, or turn on their chat help even during their open hours.
