The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I still haven't received my full refund from the stay at the Prince of wales in southport 26th August although apparently processed on 2nd sept, I have been promised this, and I'm not impressed at all!I have tried to contact booking.com and hotel numerous times and now getting ignored completely! Totally not on at all!
They are prefer making a new reservation than a reservation modification. They make customers staying online to wait for operator modification.
This is a site that doesn't help you with your issue when you book a room. It's worth less to ask for there help. I got a room through them that had many issues and the call themselves helping by issuing a $18 refund on had hotel that has had many, many other issues with other customers like me and refuse to extend an extra hand. The hotel name is Sheridan hotel - Bronx New York
1440 Sheridan express way
The worst place to grab a room.
Recently l booked a fight through Booking Com and as a reward the gave me a $60 bonus and supposedly put it in my wallet. So the I booked a hotel through booking. Com and on the website it said use your wallet so I followed the prompt but no results and I had to pay for the hotel without the $60 that was stated to be available it seems that this is just another scam l will never use booking.com again
So buyer beware
Can you trust Booking.com to have your best interest in heart.
We have just finished a trip using Booking.com and mostly it worked fine but beware, 'not all that glitters is gold'.
We booked ten spots and of the ten, three were excellent (on ground floor), three were very good (1st and 2nd floors) and three were good (second floor). But if you want to ruin a 'once in a lifetime' trip of a lifetime then all you need is one that was no good.
The problem is that the places can put whatever they wish on the Booking.com site and as far as I can tell Booking.com do not check and see if the property listed is fit for purpose.
Example: the very last property that we had booked was a unit, we were able to cancel beforehand for free and if we left it till the last day we would be refunded half of what we had paid in advance, we never got anything back and Booking.com just threw up their hands and said "leave them a bad review", they never post the bad reviews just the good ones so nobody will ever know.
Just to inform my wife and I are 67-year-old pensioners and I have leg, knee and feet problems. The premises involved was an older premises (which is not a problem) the problem was that it was on the second (top) floor, it had a dark narrow staircase that was almost straight up almost a ladder construction with wider rungs so it could be called a staircase. It would be very difficult for a young fit person to scale with luggage let alone 2 older persons. Also I had stipulated that I required parking and was advised there were parking squares on the street.
The premises was on the junction of 2 very narrow roads and there were NO parking spaces anywhere. We saw this and contacted the owner immediately and canceled, we never even entered the premises, we were not able or wanted to get up the stairs.
My contention is that if Booking.com were making money by promoting these places that they would make sure that they live up to what the suppliers says or in this case DO NOT SAY and if not then all or at least a large portion of monies paid should be recouped by Booking.com and refunded.
We were lucky that at least the majority were good but the question remains can you trust Booking.com to have your best interest in heart. I do not believe so.
What use is the ability to cancel in advance it you don't know what the place is like?
Booking.com does not vet their clients! I was stranded at 2am in Alexandris, the man came home and the place wasn't for rent! I showed up at another reservation after I paid online and magically the rent had doubled in 2 hours. I made a reservation at a resort in Hurghada and the place WAS NOT as pictured in the advertisement!
I contacted Booking.com all three times and was met with silence! Never again, their customer service is atrocious!
I did book hotel with booking.com which get closed one month before arrival. Booking.com want to put me in trashy hotel instead my original reservation
In fact, I'm not even sure they understand what "customer service" means. The booking agent literally hung up on me when they realized I was just trying to ask a question about the property, while I was trying to explain that there's no other number listed to call for information.
I would NOT recommend booking with booking.com!
I booked thru Booking.com a hotel in Lancaster pa. My total cost was $333.00. Unfortunately I had to cancel. I cancelled almost a month in advance and Booking.com advertised no charge to cancel within 2 days of reservation. In the end, Booking.com charged me $180.00 to cancel! I never used them before and I will never use them again! I did the same with Expedia and Expedia charged me nothing! Never again with Booking.com!
They withdrew my money but I never got a confirmation email or Booking Number. Then one of my flights was cancel by the airline company. It is impossible to contact "booking.com". All their phone numbers do not work! They will NOT help you without a Booking Number! Very frustrating. I had to purchase another ticket, but not through booking.com.
I book hotel by them, owner force me to cancell my booking and sign new contract with new hihger price and of course he said its booking contract. When i talk to them they didnt care its fake contract he just use them to get customers and booking allow to cheat people
My recent encounter with Booking.com was nothing short of a nightmare. I had diligently booked round-trip tickets from Vancouver to Toronto and back through their platform. The trouble began on the second leg of my journey when I arrived at the airport only to discover that my flight had been rescheduled without any prior notification, despite my ticket clearly stating an on-time departure.
To make matters worse, the airline staff at the airport shockingly denied me boarding, leaving me stranded with no clear guidance. In my moment of desperation, I attempted to contact Booking.com for assistance, but instead of providing support, they conveniently shifted the blame onto the airline. This complete lack of support and communication from Booking.com only compounded my frustration and disappointment as I missed my flight.
I made a reservation with Booking.com because you advertised a free airport pick up. That was the main reason for my booking with them, as I wanted to secure a safe trip to hotel.
However, when I went to claim a free pick up from the airport, I kept getting an error message, saying that I need to try again or contact a customer service team and they would be happy to resolve it.
They were not happy and they didn't resolve it.
I tried it many times and contacted many people in customer service team but they kept transferring me over from one department to another and giving me different reasons.
After 24 hours of trying to book a free taxi, that Booking.com OFFERED and I am still at the same point and do not have a taxi secured.
I submitted an official complaint (another problem) about this incident. I am leaving a very honest review regarding my horrible experience, hoping that other clients will avoid booking with this platform.
It right next to a Strip club. Live entertainment
There was people lounging around and in the hotel.I felt very unsafe. Booking.com should have informed me about the strip club. I could have booked somewhere else. They wouldn't give me a refund only half. I didn't even stay. I had to find another hotel later that night. Very unsatisfied with this site. I will never booked again
Booking service quality dropped very low. I've used it for years and seems like never again. They don't control the properties at all! Neither their real conditions, responsiveness of the property's owners, when there is a situation requiring their intervention, best they can do is saying "we need property approval first". Very handy when property keeps ignoring them and the customer for a month or more. It's better and cheaper to book directly with the property, as booking doesn't have any responsibility when it comes to any other situation than lack of possibility to physically check in on the day of arrival. They cannot even execute responsiveness or payment matters. Any channel to contact them is a call center, as they absolutely ignore all the messages. And anyways, this contact doesn't bring anything but hopelesness in a nutshell.
I booked the Telford Hotel and Golf Resort through Booking.com. The sum paid was £189.55. I am 82 years old and had to cancel this reservation due to a sudden change in my health. Having contacted both the Telford and Booking.com well in advance of the date, both have said there will be no refund in full or in part.
I will not use use either Booking.com or the Telford Hotel again and advise others not to risk using Booking.com
They knew 2 months ago that the hotel changed owners and reservations was canceled and still let me come out of town with not one word said to me. Got here and had to pay dam near double. Now nobody wants to answer or tell me why this happened. Please don't use them if want to make sure you get your room
My recent experience has left me deeply disappointed. It appears that http://Booking.com is engaging in practices that feel like a scam.
Booking.com recommended that I stay in a hotel that tuend out to have BLACK MOLD. ( OH YES I HAVE PICTURES) Emerald Hotel and Suites in Calgary, AB. BOOKING.COM ALLOWED this dirty establishment to be on their vending list. It is FULL OF BLACK MOLD. There was poop on the radiator along with a bunched up piece of toilet paper. Food on the air-conditioner. Hair on the bathroom floor. Poop on the toilet seat and down the stand. The worst was the amount of black mold. They tried to cover it up with a piece of plastic, which makes it a breeding ground becuase of the condensation that happens when steam is present. I have STAGE 2 CANCER AND BOOKING.COM RECOMMENDED THAT I STAY HERE FOR MY STAYCATION... Booking.com allowes this hotel to be a preferred VENDOR. Booking.com will NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. Their customer service said they never refund. I paid Booking.com my money. They in turn, pay the hotel. Booking.com owes me money and STOLE FROM ME. I never stayed at that hotel. I was there 20 minutes while I argued with the hotel about the conditions.
Do not use Booking.com. I have pictures to back this up IF anyone wants to see.
I booked a europe package with these mother $#*!ers that includs trasport from the airport to the hotel and luggages. A day before my flight nothig works got an email from the hotel that due to a balance my reservation may get canceled, i have to pay for my luggages. In additiona these suckers can not even locate my trip package. $#*!kk this $#*!tt
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
