I ordered a few piercings and earrings at the Bodycandy Shop for a total of 38,74USD/34,74€.
The shipping took 18 days, but as I got to the local package store to get my order, I was shocked.
I've experienced custom duties a few time in the past with other stores, but I never paid more than an extra of 10€ for my package, didn't matter how big or expensive the package was.
For my Bodycandy order, on the other hand, I had to pay 37,60€/42,35USD extra - only the custom duties (Zollgebühren).
I wrote a mail to the support, but everything they said, was:"Bodycandy is not responsible for this extra costs."
Yes they are, the custom duties can only be a maximum of 19% of my orders worth...
