I signed up to get my husband's photography business a profile. They offered $300 free ads. On the phone I was told they needed my credit card, but WOULDN'T BE CHARGED ANYTHING! After the $300 was used, I would be notified.
LIES! I was charged $54.76 today. I never received any emails stating my card was going to be charged.
I called them and they would not refund my money, so I had to call my bank to put a block so they can't charge me again and am doing a chargeback on my account. DO NOT TRUST THEM!
Very disappointed in the electric service I received from Home town service electricians. Changed circuits in my box and now my labeled circuits are not labeled. Requested a call back from a supervisor. Never bothered to call me.
I was talked to in a very unprofessional manner. My problem is with billing. I never knew about the $180 a month billing. When I asked to speak a supervisor Lin spoke to me rudely. When I asked to transfer he said no. When I called back to request a refund, I was denied. Yelp is scamming people out of lots of money. I plan to give bad reviews and contact other business reviews.
Don't sign up for the Yelp for Business free profile and CTC ads! They bait you in with a free $300 credit to be used toward the ads, but what they don't tell you is that down the line they will charge you for creating the profile needed to run the ad campaigns. After I created my account, I was charged $110.90 2 months later for the profile itself. The only reason I found out about this charge was through looking at my bank account-- they did not call me, email me, send a letter, or reach out in any way to let me know that they had "spent" my $300 credit and were about to charge me.
Yelp Biz offers you a $300 credit to try it out but you enter your card. I didn't get a single cent of business out of it and didn't realize you only have 2 weeks to cancel. My personal debit card was charged $178.44. It's hard to get to their billing, they sent me some form and told me their 'Premium Team' will review it. I am yet to get a refund. Don't try it. I wish I could give them 0 for rating. As a small business Users I warn you to not use Yelp service ads. In 30 days I was charged over $400 from that company without getting any visible traffic onto my website but still they've been claiming over 200 clicks on my business page. When I asked for a refund even partial it was denied. To avoid any surprises stay away use google, Facebook or instagram ads way more reasonable and honest. So disappointed.
Business gained absolutely nothing from having this subscription that I was contacted about from a Yelp sales rep offering a $300 promo. You can imagine my surprise when I got a bill for almost $500 after 18 days of service. Can't even imagine what I'd have to pay Yelp to see a return on this garabge.
Yelp called me and offered $300 credit if I sign up my company with them and try them for a month. I specifically and multiple times asked them to ensure me that no charge will appear on my credit card whatsoever and we'll only use the $300 credit they offered.
They guaranteed that no charge will appear on my credit card.
Needless to say, there is a $142 charge on my card from Yelp, and when I asked them an explanation, they deny that they ever called me. I offered them my phone log from T-Mobile, which shows that they called me and we were on the line for 60 minutes, but they said that was not them.
Of course they would not refund the $142.
Yelp is a SCAM. I'm currently placing my complaint against yelp at FTC too.
They will steel your money. They sell clicks for advertising. They Will show you other companies and have you click on their ads which is costing the company money because they charge you by clicks. It's all a scam and those other companies that bought into it just like me are getting clicks every time they want to show a new client how it works. There should be a lawsuit against this and everybody should get their money back. Un-freaking believable. Never again will I go with anything that has to do with yelp big scam company that does nothing.
Yelp sales invited us to try their business ads, after I tried for a month for $450, I found they can not bring any real order, just a couple of inquiries with no real intention, I stopped their ad service plan on January 2021(Attached image). And they didn't bill me since February. Today, when I checked my account, I found they have started to bill me $450 monthly since June. This is ridiculous, I never know leaving YELP a credit card is so risky! They can bill you monthly without your knowledge at all! Actually, someday in May, one of their sales emailed me to tell me to finish my business's ad page and turn on it. I didn't reply to her, did she turn on the Ads in order to finish her sales quota?
My salesman's name was Mark Johnson (if that is even real) and his email is *******@yelp.com
I told him that I wasn't sure if my business was right for this and he assured me that it was. I spent an hour on the phone with this guy explaining that I didn't think I needed it and he kept encouraging me that I should try the free credit promotion. I said fine. Kept checking to make sure that it didn't go below 0. All of a sudden I got charged $288. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. No one will help, the customer service is mostly rude and the managers don't get back to you. No way to get my credit card off file. Very bad bad bad business.
We were hounded to the point of harassment by a Yelp salesman to purchase pay per click. I mean it was literally non-stop. He even got nasty with us a few times. He kept calling from different numbers after we blocked him. Just to shut him up, we decided to give Yelp ads a try. We set up the account and he did most of it over the phone with us.
I get our bank statement today and I'm in shock that we are hit with a $3,000 charge from Yelp for pay per click ads. $3,000! We are just a small business and that was our rent money. The Yelp ads resulted in ZERO calls and ZERO new customers.
This is so disgusting it should be illegal.
I am a small business owner. They told me that I would get $150 in ad credit towards every month. I had the $450/mo plan. Next thing you know, its been a month, no customers out of it, and a $600 charge to my credit card which my cc company declined. F**k Yelp. Excuse my language but that company needs to get shut down.
Not waste your money on a yelp ad campaign. Or waste any money whatsoever with yelp. The sales people are also charming but God help you if you need support from their customer care team. They are rude, they talk over you, etc. The sales person I worked with lied about the pricing and, despite setting a budget for $300/mo, I had been billed far over that within two weeks. It is a total scam.
As a Realtor my business relies heavily on Leads. I have received several leads interested in my services. Some have specific requests and I am specific in my responses! Main problem is having all the communication on Yelp. By not providing me any contact info of the 'lead' we are locked into Yelp. I have sent leads photos of my business card and my full contact into. They never reply or reciprocate. My next replies will be asking them for contact info so I can reply to them more directly. Using Yelp as a line of communication between customer and business owner is seriously lacking. And by phone, nearly useless. Expecting your leads to go back into your Yelp to reply, is very short-sighted on Yelp's part.
If this continues this way, I am dropping my bus. Page. They say if I do my assigned page will continue
Which is no problem, as I don't plan to drop my business anytime in the near future. I just wont be able to get more leads, or make other changes. Which at this point is not an issue anymore with regards to Yelp!
If I could give this business zero stars out of 5, I would! I signed up for a $300 credit and when the credit expired I wasn't even giving a warning, I just noticed that my debit card was declined at the grocery store. I had just enough left to get by for that month and Yelp stole it from me. This is a disgusting low life company. I asked for a refund because it was only one day into the renewal and they declined. They stole my hard earned money! I hope they fail as a business, because this is unfair business practice!
WOW. Be aware this is a scam to get you to give up your card information just to be charged hundreds of dollars for fake ads. YELP BIZ service is terrible. Misleading and you will not benefit from these fake services. You will only be charged lots of money. They got me for 300$ and I did not benefit from anything. It is misleading and they will not return your phone calls after they get money out of you. TERRIBLE. Shame on YELP for stealing from small business owners. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.
Same as everyone else. I was called by a persuasive Yelp rep and got the whole package. They said I had $900 in free advertising which I was like cool, great why not? Then after 8 DAYS. I get a bill for $200 at a cost of $10/click. I own a marketing agency and we avoided Yelp like the plague because we knew they were shady. We decided to give it a chance because they gave us the deal and showed us everything. Obviously we should've listened to our gut. I'm just thankful that we tried it first before referring any of our clients for it. Absolute sham.
Overpriced and unethical. If you want real results use Google Ads. Yelp is ridiculous and scamming hard working entrepreneurs out of their money.
My "High-End Appliance Service" first review was left 2/27/2017 with 36 visible (4-1/2 stars) was stolen by Yelp! Every picture was deleted except one that shows me, and Yelp replaced them with generic photos from the internet. All my reviews are still there with Alex in most reviews and few mentioning "High-End Appliance Service". Now it's "Beverly Hills Appliance Repair" https://www.yelp.com/biz/beverly-hills-appliance-repair-los-angeles-4
Sending emails asking Yelp to give back my account that Yelp stole has no response.
And that's not counting every other day phone calls, voice messages, emails offering paid services
I was offered a free ad that cost me over 500 dollars only to find they were recommending the competition. When I canceled online it didn't work and they refuse to acknowledge the scam.
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
