I spent $476 for 0 leads for 1 month. Ended up paying the ridiculous amount of almost $7 per ad click. INSANE. NEVER USE YELP FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
If I give a review on Yelp it's usually an awesome review. If I don't like the service, I just move on. However, if a Business really burns me big time, they will get a one star rating. I did that to a particular business. A friend of the owner called me and said if I don't remove the bad review, all of her friends would give my business a bad review. I didn't back down. I have tons of bad fake reviews. I told Yelp and they simply didn't care.
Yelp lets their Yelpers write anything they want to release their anger in their reviews and publicize false and misleading information to jeopardize businesses' reputation. Their Yelper used inappropriate languages: "wtf", "As. H. e" and Yelp HQ thought it was normal. I can't even stand typing those words.
Why don't they let business owners like us review their yelpers?
Beware of their unclear misleading and false statements. Yelp is scam, they make unclear claims and will charge you an arm and a leg for something that does not exist.
Yelp also scammed me regarding promotional ads. Stated I would get $300 in free ads for the month if I set up my ad campaign. They walked me through it on the phone, and explained their $300.00 credit should cover the amount for the ads. NOPE, at the end of the 'billing period', they charged my $291.00. When I called in, they said, well, the charges and details were on the last page where you clicked, get started. So, my bad for believing the rep. Then, the following month, I was charged another $180 for absolutely nothing, even though they said "You will not be charged any more." I should have cancelled the credit card and dealt with changing my other recurring charges... BTW, there is absolutely no way to remove your billing information from your account. Once you put it in there, you cannot change it or remove it. REALLY, this was for the ads you told me how to set up, so that I would NOT BE CHARGED the first month... DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY KIND OF ADVERTISING OR CAMPAIGNS, BAD NEWS.
Yelp scammed my regarding promotional ads. Told me I was getting $300 in free ads for the month if I set up my ad campaign a very specific way. They walked me through it on the phone so I believed everything was good to go. Once the month was over I was charged $540 and they only applied approx $100 in promo credits. So they're telling me I had so many leads that it would have cost $640 for the month without their help? For around 60 clicks? Their ads did not lead me to one single job. Spoke to them about it and they told me my maximum budget I set for the month was $540. Yea? You mean the one you told me specifically how to set up? So even if they applied $100 in credits, shouldn't MY COST be $440? And what happened to the $300? When speaking to "customer service" they told me I didn't understand how the ads worked. The agent literally insulted my intelligence and attempted to humiliate me while arguing with me about the promo campaign over the phone. No refund. Reported to the BBB - they still refuse to refund. There is recorded phone conversation evidence of their rep lying to me over the phone about the ad campaign and how it "works." They won't send me the audio because they know they're in the wrong. These guys WILL LIE, TAKE YOUR MONEY, INSULT & DEGRADE YOU, REFUSE TO OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKES/BLATANT LIES, AND FORGE REVIEWS (you heard me... Look it up). DO NOT EVER USE THIS AWFUL COMPANY.
I gave a try twice to this company but they never delivered what they promised. When one complain, they are playing with word as defined by legally in their long terms and conditions. Once they get hold of the credit card, they just keep charging. You cannot get back a refund nor can you get credit. They have sales people who call on the weekly basis, once you are signed up, you can spend hours on the phone to talk to somebody who while pretend to be sympathetic, but cannot provide any satisfactory resolution. It is a waste of time.
Yelp hides hundreds of valid reviews and discredits your business purposely to get you to continue to buy their pointless ads that are filled with BOT clicks.-- Once i stopped paying for ads they quickly started unrecommending practically all of my reviews. This "business" that has no customer service line and is essentially operating faceless is a sham/scam and needs to be looked into. --- Some laws need to be changed to wrangle these bad actors / "Yelp owners" more.
I have zero faith in Yelp.com. Yelp.com is a huge fraud. The way they "weight" the reviews is one of the worst weighting systems I have even come into contact with.
The real reviews are far to often hidden as "not reccommended".
Really, who is yelp.com to declare if I want to see a review or not?
Yelp.com has overstepped its boundary.
Neither myself nor any of my friends visit the crappy site anymore.
Just use google.com reviews, they are much more accurate and are way easier to access as they are directly from your browser, you dont have to visit a crappy website like yelp or download a crappy app like yelp to view them.
I would not recommend signing up for yelp ads, its definitely not worth it. I have not gotten a single customer from yelp, yet my bill was $500. I now doubt if yelp has some people working just to click these ads. And when I tried to cancel the advertisements, it doesn't go through and I had to wait for support for almost half hr before I could talk to a rude support agent, who squarely puts the blame on me, in a way telling me that I was lying (I guess I lied just to wait for an hour to talk to a rude person).
And one more important note, they don't notify you, about your billing statements or monthly statement.
They are telling that you get $900 bonus but don't explain terms of that. You end up getting bills over $500 each month
I was doing a "trial" on my personal card since my boss was out of town and I didn't receive our free credits towards advertising and was scammed $167 on my PERSONAL card. Tried emailing the guy who was up my $#*! for weeks about it setting it up, PRETTY QUIET! Also stayed on hold with "customer service" for an hour and hung up.
I wish I Googled before all this.
Austin Runey is who helped me. *******@yelp.com
Yelp Ripped me off! They told me I was getting $900 in free ads. I was told step by step what to do to get the free ads. I was told my card would not be charged. That they would notify me when the $900 ads were done. That did not Happen. They charged my card without consent. Do Not Fall for it. It's a SCAM!
I have several reviews on Yelp by happy customers, yet ALL of them were flagged as "not recommended" by Yelp. I called Yelp and they told me that it's based on an algorithm that applies to everyone so that business owners can't solicit reviews from clients. I told them my clients asked me where they can write me reviews and I told them one of the places were yelp. They said I can't recommend yelp to my clients to write my business a review. I believe they started penalizing me once I stopped paying for my Yelp ads. All the reviews were there when I was paying the app when I canceled the app they were flagged as "not recommended". This is not a fair policy and I will never use Yelp ads again.
I paid yelp $300 for a month of advertising. Most of what I got was people not even serious enough to provide contact info for a free estimate. My account rep was not knowledgeable enough to help me change my add did not get back to me as promised. When I called customer service to complain and ask for some relief of charges they basically told me no and that a manager would tell me the same. Don't waste your money folks these people are extortionists.
I have used Yelp for business and Yelp ads and the customer service reps are very rude and difficult to deal with. I have numerous legitimate reviews on Yelp that were unsolicited by happy customers, yet ALL of them were flagged as "not recommended" by Yelp. I called Yelp and they told me that it's based on an algorithm that applies to everyone so that business owners can't solicit reviews from friends. While that may be the case, they are also penalizing me for getting 5-star reviews from legitimate clients. I believe they started penalizing me once I stopped paying for my Yelp ads. This is not a fair policy and I will never use Yelp ads again.
Happened to me, they claimed I signed up for $450 a month! I don't even earn that much a month in the business! I was supposed to have a 90 day trial and they charged a "pro-rated" amount 60 days later to the tune of almost $350 (which doesn't even mathematically compute). No invoice, no notification that my credit time was up (it wasn't). I am currently in the hospital taking care of my mom who has cancer and couldn't get a response from anyone. I disputed the charge. I don't know what else to do and don't have time or money to deal with this!
Also, got no leads or clients. At least if I did, that would have been something.
Horrible. I think it could have worked, but they have zero customer service skills ironically. I paid over $200 for for 7 days before I threw in the towel. I'm a new biz. I told them how I assess a move to give a quote. They then told me I should do request a quote which was a horrible idea. Me not knowing really what they meant. I got one phone call. Which unfortunately I missed and they booked with someone else. I called the number back within 2 min. She had just moved to the next ad though. I take that one as my fault. I then got 4 inquiries via the request a quote. 2 of which were asking about services that I did not provide. The other two just wanted an estimate based on a few basic questions that yelp gave them. These questions in no way helped me provide an accurate quote to the customer. So I asked them to call me. Obviously they did not. Then when I tried to work with yelp and get something more geared to my biz. I was told my ad was doing great and it was their way or the highway. Literally they didn't give a f@&$. I figured like hey sorry we gave you the wrong plan here's a little credit and we can change some of the ways we have you set up. Nope none of that. I didn't even get a chance to ask for a discount. Hell I might not have even thought about asking had they cared to talk to me. Long story short they don't care about you they just want your money. I wish I would have taken a pic of my yelp ad page before I canceled to prove this, but I didn't and I don't want to pay $18 to reboot for one day to take a pic. 0 stars
Found a 50 dollar charge on my credit card, then found an extra 83 dollars about to be charged. Called in and there is nothing they can do, did have a 400 dollar credit but since my account wasnt set up with an daily ad buy high enough to qualify for the promotion they had sold me, it didn't stay on the account.
Really unhappy with the sales person and the person on the phone when I called in. She didn't spend any time on the issue just offered to cut off the service. Really hoping they can at least get that right.
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
