Please, avoid do any sort of business or trials with yelp. I know they seem and have been realiable from a customer point of view. But when it comes to their business owner/Clientele they will rip you off. I was given a FREE TRIAL for a TWO WEEK period. Once I tried to cancelled they help me thru it all and said they were sorry to see me leave. I insisted that this product wasn't for me and so they proceed to cancel everything before my trial period ended. Which was a day before the billing process. I wake up the next day to see a billing charge on my account for the amount of $250.35. So I email them like there website suggested and called them in three different numbers and ONLY TODAY on NOV. 5TH did I finally get thru with someone on the other side. ONLY TO TELL ME "I"m sorry sir, the trial was just the service but the ""ADDS ONS"" that were added wasnt. Which is BULLSH*T because the marketing agent GAVE ME THOSE ADD ONS. To TRY but I come to find out that... this is there way to SCAM YOU PUT OF YOUR MONEY. YELP is honestly no different from any marketing companies. So PLEASE AVOID.
I was repeatedly called by Freddy from Yelp and he left me repeated messages. When I finally answered so that I could tell him to quick calling me he was SO aggressive and persistent it was apparent they would never quit calling me. So, I signed up for a whopping 14 days and paid $275 for like 5 clicks. I asked when does the free ad money actually kick in and they said it is being used simultaneously as my ads increasing the impressions and so will basically never cover any part of your selected budget. You will always pay your selected budget. If you want to pay about $40 a click go ahead but I advise that you stay away.
About 1.5 months ago I created a yelp account for free, got called literally an hour later by a lady who works for yelp and told her I could not pay more then $20 a month. She continued go on with a "code for $300 worth of free ads". I said sure! Because I did this on Facebook for a $15 free ad code and it worked just fine. Anyway about 20 days into the ad I saw no extra business coming in so I canceled the ad and deleted my yelp account. I got an email today (11/04/19) for a bill of $270 EFFING DOLLARS! I called them up and they sent me to their customer service line where they could help. I told them my story and they go to say "well sorry since YOU agreed to accept the ad agreement there's nothing we can do to help." I told them then that there was nothing I could do either because I do NOT have the money and that amount is rediculous for a stupid ad! Then I hung up. Never ever reccomending yelp. Wish I could rate 0 stars. 1 star is being too nice.
How to make a long story short... My credit card was charged for a service I never signed up for. I set up my free Yelp account. The next 2days I received multiple calls and a gentlemen signed me up for a free 7day trial which i was excited about as a new business owner. He asked for my credit card to charge AFTER THE &DAY FFREE TRIAL. I had to cancel within the 7 days. I cancelled 2 days later. Today I noticed a charge on my credit card. I called and they denied ever calling me and said they never had a free trial and that no one ever called me. He said I must have signed up on my own online which is why i was charged and that he could not refund me. He also stated there was no one else to speak with (mgr etc). Because they are such a big company you put faith in them and they just scam you. Wish i had seen these reviews before.
Recently I disconnected my Yelp due to the fact it was costing large amounts of money and I was not receiving any benefits from it. After witnessing what looks to be a $415.00 charge to my credit card without any warnings - I was told I apparently approved a campaign in September that gave them the right to charge me. After explaining that I wasn't even in the country and that I set up no such charge, I proceeded to get into a fight with a rude customer support team member who essentially was telling me that he couldn't provide me with any proof as to who logged in and started the campaign but no refund would be possible irrespective of the fact that I did not approve this. As a small business owner I find the lack of customer service repulsive and I warn all small business owners to seriously review any type of Yelp service before listing your credit card. This was evident that at any stage they can set up a charge and resume charging large fees without any warnings.
I am a professional headshot photographer located in Toronto. I was thinking about getting more exposure for my business. I got a call from the yelp business advertising sales about a month ago. They told me that Yelp had much higher popularity than Google in Toronto. I was stupid enough to believe them. They were trying to sell me on doing an ad on Yelp. The salesperson offered me a "$300" ad credit because I was not sure if this platform will work for my business because people use Yelp primarily for restaurants and stuff... I decided to give it a try since they offer $300 ad credit at the beginning.
Then it became really fishy. The coupon code they gave me on the phone didn't work repeatedly. But they sounded so confident that they will be able to put the ad credit through later on. At this point. They completely gained my trust so that I signed up for an ad account.
I never got that $300 ad credit. Next thing you know, they charged me $280 for just 2 weeks of advertising with 0 usable leads... I emailed the salesperson who signed me up and asked about $300 ad credit he promised me and got no response. I was totally ignored. Such unethical people!
If you google: yelp free $300 credit
You will see thousands people complain about that was a scam, misleading and farud email. You still gonna pay full bill by the first day of next month. Nothing is discount.
Delete your credit card right away or link a on time credit card.
They charged me 93 dollars for 4 days of supposed advertising after 5 days of being told i was getting $150 of free ads. They will not refund any money and say that they just walk you thru setting up so they are not liable. Run keep going i wish i would of read the reviews before talking to theses guys.
Very overpriced clicks with no results, do not waist your time advertising on yelp. We got supposedly 6 month advertising with promotions with option of cancel any time if you dont like, but no one told us that if you cancel it early, Yelp will take full amount from your account, basically ripping you off. For example let's say you try the add and it is not good for you obviously you have to stop it, they charge additional for the promotions they gave you. After we lost lots of money on Yelp adds we decide to stop in a 3 mounts and we got charged extra. With advertisement was included also page enhancement, which is $90 value (this is a small yellow line on you page that attract very little people) complete another waist. The enhancement was removed from our page, but yelp keep charging our credit card, and when I called them they say it is mont to mont enhancement and you can cancel anytime, and I asked "can you show me that feature on my page" she played dumb pretending does not understand what i am talking about. No feature but getting charged every month. Another problem with Yelp, they will show or remove any reviews they want, doing that they control your search position on the page, and you cant do anything. This is very important tool for them to get you buy nonsense expensive adds.
Use this app for the free features and send your reviews to Google. The ads are very expensive and bring in little profit. Also, out of 20 customer reviews Yelp only displays 4. I recently attended a business owners conference and it was unbelievable to hear from hundreds of business owners expressing that same frustration with reviews and return. This last month we paid Yelp $570 and basically only received a few inquiries and fewer actual jobs. It's mostly people fishing for prices, so they will contact you and several other companies and you have to pay for those inquiries. Also, the craziest part of it all is, we're paying over $500 a month for ads, naturally you would think Yelp would do everything that they can to make their customers happy. That is not the case. I was overcharged and after being transferred repeatedly and told that there was nothing that could be done, I was actually hung up on by a Yelp employee. Since I learned that you can't call and get help I submitted my complaint electronically and never heard from anyone in the company. In the end I learned that what's most important is Google when it comes to establishing your reputation and Facebook for online presence. (This is valuable info I learned from several business owners who have tried Yelp, Angie's List or Home Advisor.) I cancelled my ads and guess what Yelp did? They took down even more of my reviews. Wow! For any new company without a whole lot of experience please take this review serious. It's so sad to see people attempting to build there dreams be ripped off by huge companies with poor customer service. They are very nice during sign up and will promise you the world but beware. They do not play fair. They control everything on the platform to what type of calls you get to which reviews they believe are real (which is unbelievable being that they hang up on customers even when they are wrong). Just do you research because we have wasted a lot of money and to attend that conference and hear the complaints about Yelp is disheartening, I wish I could have attended sooner, I would have saved thousands of dollars.
Nonstop calls pushing their service. They hide your good reviews and only show the negative ones. Their telemarketers use high pressure tactics to push you onto signing on to one of their many high priced packages.
Signed by business up and was offered what I believed to be "trial run or bonus credit for new businesses". I tried to use the offer to try out their ad platform, but it turned out the offer was more like a top up. I was charged above $400 in just 10 days! Once I noticed that I cancelled the campaign altogether and called them.
All they did was to "apologize for the inconvenience" and refusing to refund any already made charges.
I believe the company is playing on the mental model of the customers who come from the user experience of being offered a promotion to try out a platform when they join. Yelp refuses to highlight the fact that the customer is going to be charged before the promotion kicks in and plays on this mental model. I don't have the right statistics to support my claim, but at the very least, it was the case for me.
Fxxk yelp... Their company employees have been calling me, they have affected my life, let me pay for their ads, I told them not to call my company again, it's useless, they still call me every week., I want to call the police
Recently disputed a charge from yelp after they were no help getting the issue fixed. I use the app for most of my yelp business which means I've created ad campaigns and for my two locations. I canceled the ad for this location back in august using the app due to the ad amounting to nothing. So fast forward to October I get my cc statement and yelp has charged me $479 for the same ad for the month of September. I explained to them we cancelled this using your app and I don't feel like we need to pay for something we didn't even know was running and didn't even get to customize it to our needs. They basically told me that even though the app has a cancel campaign button I would still need to log in through a computer in order to successfully cancel and ads with them. I was floored! I asked them to at least credit me something to use for future ads and they declined. Hung up pissed off and called the bank to dispute the charge. Now that I have disputed the charge yelp has removed all my reviews and placed them in the not recommended section. This is the dirtiest business practice I've ever seen in my life.! Please don't give yelp your business. They're not good for any type of business.
I am completely appalled that when you seach help on the cell phones that this sitejabber site does not come up at all. Why? Because with SEO you can move all the good talk about yelp and not see anything negative. I signed up for a "trial" with the promise of a call back to teach me what to do, and $300 credit to be applied to my acct while I learn how to use the program. Neither was done and they wiped my PayPal and bank accounts clean! This company uses SEO for cell phones only because they know 90% of people do their research from a cell phone. So Please don't sign up for this is a scam! MY RELATIONSHIP WITH PAYPAL AND MY BANK ACCOUNT AT SCARRED because they will keep trying to take the money and its not in the account because I have no money left after this. They never applied the $300 to my account during the trial as promised and are not even to entertain the fact that they even promised the $300. Please don't do it! And Please share your reviews on FB and all social media platforms.!
Yelp is a scam company promising free page for a business but in reality trying to get you to advertise for money. When page is created and you don't join their payment plan, all customers reviews are becoming not displayable. They are pushing you for a payment and sometimes just plainly rude to you.
They mislead you and tell you they are giving you a promo code then automatically charge your card then when you call they say "nope no refund policy". TERRIBLE COMPANY STAY AWAY- so unethical I can't believe they do this to small business owners. DO NOT TRUST.
I was contacted by a yelp rep to get my business going on yelp. Which i thought was great! Nickolas si***a set me up with a promise promotion for beginning yelp businesses of $600 in free advertisements. Once the $600 was used up is when they would begin to charge my card. Account was started on sept 11th 2019, i canceled the ads sept 19th 2019, yet again another promise of no charges to my bank card. Come oct 2nd 2019 i got charged $326.22. Thats roughly $40 a day of "advertising" i didnt get a single customer out of it. I did get
3 messages (whom i responded to yet never heard back from again)
37 ad clicks
25 organic.
This is not enough at all to be charging $40 a day.
I contacted about a refund immediately and they said it would be a wk. Today is a wk and they said they are still working on it, could be another wk or more.
Yelp called me and wanted to open a business account with them. I Talked to one of the workers and promised me that I will have 5 customers a day if I join them. Of course, she says that i need to put my credit card info so they can help me out with this. Couple weeks later, i get not eve 1 customer on my business page and tried cancelling my card. I called many times, emailed them saying to cancel my card and no one wanted to help me.
Dishonest and unprofessional Service. Do not open a business account with them and thankfully I had nothing on my card because they wanted to charge my card daily!
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
