I also specifically told them I was willing to try for 10 days. At no point did the salesperson tell me it was my responsibility to stop the campaign. After 30 days I see I am still getting referrals and call to find out I am indebted to them for over $376. I try calling and emailing, did not get any response. Eventually they did send me an email I did not see and refused any refund because in the terms and conditions it stated it was my responsibility to stop the advertising.
Stay away from Yelp business and only use it with buyer beware.

After getting harassed by phone calls and emails for to weeks I finally settled in to set up my page. The man who I talked to was really nice, convincing and I thought he was genuinely helping me make money. Me over here... as a fresh start business owner I took the bait and purchased business packages for my page which was going to only cost $135 total because they offer $450 funds for my account "FREE". I was only advertising for 17 days not a full month and already was charged $340.60 in my account that money was meant to shop for my Christmas presents for my family. This scammers are scamming every day and will do their best to lure and take money from hard working people. I'm currently working with my bank and see what they can do about this.
Scam Yelp bothered my multiple tines a day to set up my page. Offered a $300 credit charged me $210 after about a week never used any of the credit the ap showed 2 clicks and one person got directions ehen i called they said thats what i agreed to it was clearly on the page where i entered my credit card info. She kept inturupting me when i was trying to get a refund and then she hung up in me to boot i guess she wad satisfied that she explained it enough and i still don't know what i paid for, Scan scan scam Do t dont do it! By the looks of this page we should start a class action law suit.
Yo the ads contacted me and stated that my daily budget would be $15 A-day. I ran the ad from October 22nd to November 1st and they charged me $113.88. Then they charged me from November 1st to November 8th when I can't sold $440.37. When I called about it the man said no it's $59 per click and I said well the girl did sign me up for the ad did not tell me about that. He said that she did not need to disclose that to me and that it was in the contract. All the emails I have no where does it say anything about $59 per click but in 17 days of my contract I had 7 clicks. In only 5 from November 1st to November 8th and that's where the $440.37 comes into play. I am disputing the charges for my bank but I'm not sure what will happen. Do not use Yelp ads they are a scam.
I was harrassed almost daily regarding contacting them to setup my profile. Initially thought it was part of process hours later told that I wouldn't get charged anything for the trial period. No trial period. I got charged $110 for 6 days which I cancelled after 2 days because I explicitly told her I couldn't afford the daily amount they laid out. She said we will also give you $150 in advertisement if you setup trial now just for trying there premium features. Well 3 organics clicks cost me $110. Don't bother calling the sales retention department get tossed around and told not sure where the communication gap occurred as none of what I was told is a THING. Ultimately my add setup is done solely by the client and I should've known the charges i agreed to regardless of what was explained to me. Oh and that $150 is only if I keep my add for the entire month so because I only had 5 days I only got the $25 towards the adds and there is no TRIAL! Just frustrated I explained my budget and not only did I not get one review, call, message only 5 clicks, 3 organic amount to $150 what a deal! Way to prey on new businesses, they should be sued for punitive damages and than the outrageous lies of fees for there fake advertising!
I wish I would have seen this first. I trusted Yelp because who hasn't heard of Yelp? I get a call from a saleswoman, she sets everything up, tells me to go on the site and put in my debit card approving an ad campaign, and that the $300 is a bonus.
What I did not realize is that the spending budget of $450 is separate from the $300. So in all actuality I am supposedly getting $750 in ads.
0 calls, 0 sales, and 0 anything came from these ads.
Nothing about this helped my business and after spending hours on the phone with them I got nowhere (including 4 hang ups and dicsonnects while being on hold).
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
I had 4 organic leads for the entire month of November and was billed $420. Their explanation was based on their root metric system based on competition. Im one of two businesses in the area.
WHY OH WHY didn't I read this first. I got call from a woman at Yelp at *******@yelp.com. Told me she would build a site to show me how great they were but needed my CC number to do that. She PROMISED it would not be charged if I chose not to use them. A few hours later I called her and said my feedback was that Yelp was not any good and I did not want to proceed. She said OK. I sent another email specifically saying this is my formal notice that you are not to charge my cc in any way. She said fine. I just got a $570 charge on my Amex and they won't refund it.
If Yelp calls, don't walk away. RUN away.
They took down reviews that people who don't use yelp often but I still see people who give one review and never log back in still show it doesn't make sense I thought yelp is legit but I really think this is how they make money putting false reviews ask to pay monthly saying they will bring customers it is 1% chances out of 100%
Don't fall for Yelps lying sales people! I was told I'd be charged a $15 per day maximum with up to 30 clicks per day and was charged for 29 days though I only had clicks on 10 days for a grand total of 19 clicks. The leads also seemed like they weren't real and several soliciting my for business. When I called Yelp and spoke to 3 different customer service reps, all couldn't help.
Sales Rep::" Erica Bloom" I emailed customer service: please make sure my personal CC# that I gave your agent doesn't get charged! I don't have time to deal with Yelp right now. The owner is no looking to spend any more money on marketing... we will use only what is free service on Yelp. Please confirm you got this message and will make certain my CC# is not charged.
They charged me anyway and now won't give a refund! Horrible customer service! Never do business with YELP! I will fight this through my bank! I'm so furious...
Total scam lying sales representatives work for Yelp I wish I could remember his name he's a complete scam sales artist
Yelp allows us business owners, and affiliates (spouses, family, etc.) to write 5 star reviews, and allows them to stay up, but when customers leave me reviews for my indie shop, and they push my total of reviews past a particular number (ex: 100), the 101st review cost me an additional $$$ to keep my reviews. YELP HAS BEEN BRIBING ME TO KEEP MY REVIEWS UP, AND THE ONES THAT ARE UP ARE NOT EVEN REAL REVIEWS... THEY'RE FROM MY FAMILY! PATHETIC
I get so many fake leads. You can tell by the way they all respond the same way and they don't get u anywhere. Meanwhile they blow up ur phone so u can set a budget for their ads that will probably not get u anywhere either.
Was only supposed to get charged up to $10/day when someone clicked on my acct, I had 9 clicks in 45 days, but was charged $300 & 185. Called Yelp, got nowhere, so filed dispute with credit card co. They checked into it, 2 weeks later ok'd the refund! Amen!
So I was receiving daily calls by yelp marketing reps, they wanted me to give their website another chance. I explained to them over and over that for a new business who is not where they want to be, Yelp would be just a waste of money. They charge you anytime someone clicks on your page or something. So they offered me a credit of $300 to reinstate my account and a rep assisted me and supposedly wanted to show me their features. I asked many times during this call if they would be charging me, I told them I was ok with using their credit just to see if it is worth joining or not. She and many other reps would assure me that I was not being charged that I had a credit. So after a week or two I decided it was not for me since I never ever got a lead using them. So I asked again Ann's they assured me they were not charging me. So I matter I canceled with available credit left over I get charged 85 dollars more or less. I called customer service and they changed their whole tune, telling me that it is in their contract and disregarding any L anything I said explained my case and asked for a manager, rep claimed to be the manager in corporate and was being very aggressive. I told her if they monitor calls they could heat my ask on. Every call if they will charge me and each rep said no not maybe but no. So they flat out lied and. Will not give me my mo ey back. Total scam.
3 months and $1600 wasted on the promise of YELP! Bringing in any business. I got three leads and they were garbage. Don't waste your hard earned money, go with a service like Thumbtack.
If you have an issue with a yelp charge you will wait on hold for roughly a half hour and then talk to a "rep" who is basically there to tell you why you can't be credited back any of your charges.
I was talked into running some pay per click ads during the last 10 days of my clients business season. It was explicitly stated many times that we would only want to run the ad for 10 days because the business was closing for the season. This is stated in the sales agent's notes and on the voice recording.
What the sales agent didn't tell us was that we were responsible for turning the ads off at the 10 day mark. I personally checked the account after the 10 days and it appeared there were no ads running but I received a call from the client a month later that they were charged $570 for ads that ran while they were closed.
We were also told that we would only pay for actual ad clicks which no one wants to click an ad to rent a boat in the fall but also Yelp conveniently will charge you the maximum per month even if you don't get the ad clicks.
I called and was able to speak with an agent that said their sales people are not responsible to turn off ads despite what may be interpreted or implied. I asked to speak to her manager and she said she was the manager. I asked for her name and ID# and she would only give me her first name. She was more than happy to tell me how she wasn't going to help and that it was our responsibility to pay for it regardless of the error.
I have multiple clients and know multiple agents so this is roughly 50 people within direct reach of me that will never use yelp. I explained this to them with zero result. I called one more time to see if I could get a different rep and answer to no avail.
Any company that is so desperate to keep shady ad money without any sort of negotiation or acccommodation is on it's way down. I assume they know they are doomed to Facebook & Google reviews and are doing a final run for a money grab before they sink.
I just want to leave this review to warn other business owners that this company is a fraud and they are liars. Do not advertise with them, if they do it will cost them a lot of money to receive anything in return. Try it, try to remove your Yelp company, they won't be able to do it, or try to remove the credit card they have with them, they won't be able to do it either. They look like a sect, you're stuck.
YELP will generate loads of ads and charge you up the butt for them, but in no way shape or form are they fair with their business deals. They will call you endlessly to upgrade to a more expensive program, and the longer you dont do it they take secret action. My page went from having a whopping 57 5 star reviews, to 32. MORE THAN 20 REVIEWS REMOVED FOR NO REASON. I looked at other people who pay more for ads than I, and saw them have 100 posted reviews with 15 not recommended while I had 32 showing and 35 not recommended. They charge for page upgrades and will not refund them even if you have your business up as closed. THEY STILL CHARGE YOU FOR THINGS WHEN YOUR BUSINESS IS MARKED AS TEMP CLOSED. Customer service does nothing but keep you on hold and give bull $#*! reasons for their actions. They claim they have no control over reviews, and yet reviews get taken off and put back on daily. Negative reviews are sent to the top while great ones are set to not recommended UNLESS YOU PAY MORE. They will never admit it, but if you pay them $1,000+ a month theyll cater to you. Any less and they dont care. They treat this like they are your boss, and you do what they say and you dont have control. If youd like to cancel ads, they require 30 days notice SO THEY CAN CHARGE YOU FULL PRICE FOR ONE MORE MONTH. Isnt this MY business not yours? If i want to quit I get to quit. I'll use YELP continuously but I dont recommend their ads.
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
