Total scam, spent over €50 to win a DVD movie and still waiting on delivery after 2 months... Ripped off
I was one of the lucky winners... however, I won a dsi for my daughters birthday and now wish I hadn't as I haven't received it (4 weeks later)! Now I will have to go and buy one from the shops... I have logged a complaint with PayPal as I have had no luck with BidFun. I will definately NOT use them again.
This is a terrible site! Can't believe I was sucked in! Spent $50 - I still have 17 credits remaining (don't know if I can get this back yet). But I was on till 2am couldn't believe that the number of users kept increasing at that hour of the morning! I read the terms & conditions & thought I would just give it a go... after spending hours and hours on it I realised that there was no way I was ever going to win anything! I was putting bids on at the very last second & sometimes my username came up last - but the price would go up by more than 20c which would equate to 10bids in that last second - but looking at the bidding history it was clear that these other people bit bids on way before the last second but we're not shown this - we're just shown "checking"! If I saw these other bids going on I would have waited! There is definitely something fishy going on with this website. They don't show all the bids that are being placed until after the very last second - if my bid was the last bid as I put it on at the last second how is it that I didn't see any bids put on before my bid and at least 5-10 people bid before me?!?! Stay away from this site - there is definitely something very wrong with it!
Absolutly cheat. Always server goes down when you approches to an end of bidding. This happened to me almost three times in half an hour whilst other websites worked fine.
I have been watching bidfun for a week. I bought $20.00 worth of bid credits every time you bid it costs you a dollar. That I don't have a problem with. The problem I have is you never have a real chance to win. In the weeks time I have been watching them the same users get on and bid over and over again to drive the prices up. Matte, 84angela, church1of, pupuce66, hotrod66, Herculxena, Vortex897, Peter *******, Gil13, Jomg, Marco*******, Titanik, bouriquette26, wastingbid. 4, chonchonchon, VSwifey, Hotcougar1, je. Vais. Jusqu, Risquetout, Monettemonique, laloge, miamiprincess, pbart77, chinaman, bluiiiz, kokoro. Also if you look up their nz, uk, au, and usa sites its the exact same auctions with the exact same people bidding on the items with the exact same number of users on. If this site was legitimate then they wouldnt have fake people bidding and running the prices up. I sat and watched one bidder bid on 20 bidfun credits and spent well over $50.00 for it why would anyone in their right mind spend that kind of money for something that would only cost them $20.00 for. For anyone that uses this site or goes and looks at it beware.! You will not win. They have it set up so that you wont. Go look at the finished auction. The same people everyday are winning.
Stay away they rob you, do not spent a dime there you will not win an auction against there fake bidders, i bid 9 hours after the action should have closed and it was still going! Stay away from there if your smart!
I wish that I had come here to read the reviews before handing over my hard earned money. I should have known that you don't get something for nothing... This is a well thought out scam site. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if BidFun didn't have a few robots set up to drive up prices and keep people bidding. I knew within a few bids that I had been had...
I spent $100 dollars in bids and actually won an ipod to my surprise, then I waited and waited for it to come in the mail/or courier and it never arrived, so I sent numerous emails to bidfun, not one was answered so then I went to paypal and made a complaint about the company bidfun and again to my surprise, I was suddenly getting a response from bidfun, and they assured me it was apples fault, anyway 7 days later and I have my brand new ipod and very happy with it, but don't think I would play on bidfun ever again, I think this was a fluke, but had to post this just to let people know that on occasion you can win something..
I tried it " BIDFUN.NZ"with $50, never quit, my credit nearly gone, but... I won, its a 16 G flash drive, then I paid the shipping coast $7. Haha, I am waiting for about two month till now no delivry. I sent lots of emails, but no respond
Total scam. Ran through credits in seconds bidding against an auto bidder. Who says that they aren't the ones constantly bidding against you. This way they always win and never have to deliver the goods. Took me for $20.00 in under a minute
This is a scam.
I was stinted by it. I spent $50 to buy the credit and finally lost all.
The scam is simple. Bidfun.com can easily set up thousands of false accounts to bid with you until you've lost all you credit. It cost nothing to bidfun.com. The false accounts can have unlimited credits from bidfun.com. How can you check?
Another way of making of money from you is like this: Maths tells it all. For example an iphone's final bid was $64. Sound great! To get there, there will be 3200 bids ($64/$0.02) or $3200 credits as every bid increases the bid price by $0.02 and each credit is $1. So bidfun.com makes $3200 for an iphone that sells for $1000!
I agree with all of the previous posters, this is a legitimate scam that makes a massive amount of money for the owners.
However I actually managed to make it work for me.
Here's how:
Paid entry fee £10 for 20 credits. Watch carefully and bid on an 'auction' for Bidfun credits which is open only for new punters. Let it run for a while and then bid when it reaches ~10-20% of its value. In my case I bidded at £8.00 for 400 bidfun credits and won at about £8.50.
So now I have net 415 credits and I paid £18.50 (£10 + £8.50) for them
I actually wanted a memory stick. So when one came up I put an automatic robot bid in. I was prepared to offer 25 credits as this would now cost me <~£2.50.
Bidding starts but people quickly got scarred off by the my Robot bidding. So I win at a cost of 7 credits and a winning price of 32p. So I got a £40 item for 70p (7 credits)plus 32p = £1.02p. Which they delivered.
Or looking at it differently I have a £40 item and I have paid Bidfun <£20 for it!. Plus I still have >400 credits which I can afford to waste.
I certainly will not be buying any more credits from Bidfun as I can see that it is a very doggy site and my gain has been at the cost of many other innocent people... which does not sit well.
It would not surpraise my if many of the big bidders on this site are real people who have worked out how to make it work for them... like me! And are making money from it as you don't have to take the item that you win, instead you can take Paypal credits, Amazon gift vouchers or more Bidfun credits.
This way of making money is morally disgusting as it prays on the innocent and gullible. I for one will not particapate in the scam. I am lucky and got away unscathed and would recommend you do too!
If you take any of the user names from a person that has won there aka"crazytrucker68" and google search that name you will find them on every site. bidfun.uk-- bidfun.ca-- bidfun. Dk-- bidfun.ie--- so Why would someone want to be bidding on stuff that isn't from that country this makes no sense except that its a SCAM! Please do put any money on this site! I sure didn't
This website is no scam... you guys seem to be angry that they're making money? Who cares? Good on them! If you lost $200.00 on bids then that's your own irresponsibility. The site's terms are clearly stated and make perfect sense. You have to buy credits before you even bid! Did you really think that after buying credits that you are guaranteed to win? Grow up and stop whinging about the money you lost on your own part.
Anything but fun, this site will separate you from your money faster than a pickpocket. It is a total scam and I would be willing to bet they have computers running up the bids. Has anyone ever won an auction and how much did you end up paying? I jumped in before I read the "fine print" and lost $60.00. I assumed it worked kind of like eBay. Buyer beware!
THIS SITE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE IN THIS COUNTRY, PEOPLE IN AMERICA DO NOT LIKE GETTING RIPPED OFF, I INTEND TO CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF OHIO TO SEE ABOUT HAVING THIS SITE BANNED
Well I have been reading all these comments on BidFun and that it isn't a scam or you should read the disclaimers before conducting business.
When I looked at the site my immediate reaction was theres a catch, $20.03 for a Wii console, what tha %^^@#?
I did a quick read and yes, you give them your money to open an account, you then give them your money for every bid you make and at the end of the day, if they don't make a margin on the item you loose all that money to them which they keep. They put the item back into the auction and after enough fools bid on it to get their margin of what ever that may be, you have a winner (maybe some lucky newcommer). The fact that people eventually win the item would allow them to remain in business but I would not classify this web site as an auction house but as a lottery or raffle. Hell, I could put my house on it that they don't even have any of the items they are selling. Just some fat guy sitting in a chair waiting for a winner to emerge, he then rings up Amazon.com or eBay and orders the item for you. All margin for them, 0 overheads.
Its like that scam where guys drive around in vans saying they have over supplied audio equipment and their boss is going to fire them if they don't sell it. You do actually get an audio system but twice the price of what they payed for it and if you are lucky it will work. This is illegal and if they are caught they do face criminal charges. This site is really no different to this but in 1 detail that no one is pushing their wares on you. You came to them, you gave them your money.
Simple, you see something brand new thats really stupidly cheap, don't buy it because it is a scam and someone is loosing their money over it.
If no one buys, they will go out of business.
This is a scam - I can't belive they don't put these scum bags in jail. My son has been saving for a Nintendo DS and only had $60 saved. We allowed him to search the internet for a used or bargain DS and he came across this site. We are tying to instill trust so we didn't look over his shoulder and let him used our credit card only to find out he was scammed out of $50. That the $50 was just to bid. My son did learn a lesson. Unfortunately the lesson was that there are bad people in the world who don't have a soul and feel just fine taking advantage of children. He just couldn't understand why someone would do that. I hope the low life who came up with idea gets his own one day.
Probably thge greatest scam that I have seen so far! The same people go on winning, I have seen (after watching for many hours) a group of bidders (4 or 5) with unbelievably similar names, bid for many thousands of dollars without winning. SHILL bids.
I looked it up and went to multiple bidfun websites. They all had the same number of people at the same time strange or scam. It won't let me as a user make automatic bids as a user so I think automatic bids are people working for the website or bidfun computers you spend more money bidding and loosing than getting the item
Answer: Crusty9 i won a prize last night believe me i have nothing to do with bidforfun if i don't recieve it ill let you know
