The company operates in a competitive penny auction space, attracting mixed reviews from customers. Positive sentiments highlight the excitement of the bidding process and the potential for significant savings on various products, with some users reporting successful wins. However, a substantial number of reviews express concerns about the business model, likening it to gambling, with accusations of misleading practices and potential insider bidding. While customer service is generally described as responsive, the overarching sentiment suggests skepticism regarding the fairness and transparency of the auctions, indicating a need for clearer communication and improved trust-building measures.

I am a raving fan. If you live on a budget, but have a need for something... check it out. I have won several Kindles for my family (my dad can hardly see, but the Kindle reads to him). I won a Macbook Pro, a Nintendo Wii with fitness programs. These are all things that have enhanced our lives that I could not justify paying full price for. Thank you bidfire!
I love this web site. I won a Macbook Pro (which i am using to type this review) My total input to it, was about 50.00, that includes the bids i bought. I was a bit skeptical at first, but decided to give it a try, even after i "won" i was wondering if i'd actually get the product, it took about a week and half/two weeks, but it came. Brand new never been opened in box 13 in macbook pro. It's fantastic I love it. This site is not a scam, a scam would suggest that they take your money and you get nothing. As long as you read and understand the way the site works, then you're not being scammed. The sites that say pay... such and such amount and you'll get x item and take your money and never send it. That's a scam. The people that bid higher than an item is worth on Bidfire... well that's their choice, they should know how the site works before they start spending.
I'm VERY happy with my Bidfire.com experience!
I love, love, love Bifire. I won a Wii for 4.35 and a Garmin watch for $1.10 and used less than 100 bids on both items. Bidfire is in no way a scam, it is a risk and if you watch the auctions you will learn when and how to bid. I also received both items very quickly and I would recommend the site to all my friends and family if I didn't want them outbidding me :). I am in no way affliated with bidfire, I'm just a very happy customer.
You have to look at Bidfire for what it is. It's a cross between an auction and gambling. There is thrill at winning, and disappointment at losing. I don't agree that it is a scam. You do see the same people winning, but those are the ones who stick to it. It's simple, if you see an item you want, you buy a bunch of bids and prepare to wait it out. I have won two of their auctions: a $100 gift card to Amazon.com and an Ipod Touch 64GB. I used 42 bids on the gift card, plus $27 to buy it - total cost $69. Not a bad deal. The Ipod was a bit better, I used 15 bids and paid around $8 to buy it (saved over $350). The very next auction, I wasted 100 bids trying to show another bidder I meant business. In the end, I didn't win, but still came out ahead. Bottom line is, you won't win by bidding once, or even five or ten times, and you probably won't get something for a nickel. If you watch what is going on, you might get a bargain.
By the way read further up this page at Elle T.'s comments. I've read the exact same rant on other review sites - there is no way she could know how much that person bid, unless she watched the entire auction with a pen and paper (the sites don't let you see that info), so I doubt her story is true.
Bidfire is legit as I have won and received merchandise, ie I won a Kindle dx for less than $40, including bids and shipping. I have seen stuff go dirt cheap and other stuff go high, not in actual purchase value, but in amount of bids placed. It is not a scam, just competitive shopping, not much different than a raffle ticket system. I will back up Miranda W, have seen her win cheap, and go whole hog on something before (a kindle battle). There are times before you win something that you will think there are bots and that there is a scam. Been there. When I thought that there was a bot, I emailed support and got an immediate response. I was very pleased with the support. A thumbs up. But be warned, the site is picking up, and items have gotten more competitive. Study before you bid and have fun.
I have been a user of Bidfire since August of last year. I honestly at first didn't want to put money into something that was a BIG gamble. So I started off with $25, something I wouldn't complain too much about losing and would teach me a lesson if the site turned out to be a hoax. Well the first auction I won was 10 free bids, for like 30 cents and using like 1 bid, that was quickly put into my account. I waited a couple of days before trying my luck on bigger auctions, and remind you this site was first getting started in summer of '09, so I finally decided to bid on a bluray, and I won that for 45 cents. So now the difficult part, waiting to see truth behind a website that would offer "too good to be true" prices, and in the mail I got my movie. Took about a week. Since then I've been a constant user, always trying to try my "LUCK" on other items. Sometimes I win good, sometimes I lose. Honestly the site stays true to sending out the items. I've won some great items at f***ing low prices, and then again I've lost money because I didn't want to lose anymore of my cash. Honestly the site stands by sending out items, it's pretty much up to how many people are bidding and how much you're willing to keep bidding to see if you win, it's a gambling game that I like to play.
I read all the negative comments but still decided to try this website out. I decided to bid on a Kindle DX. I actually WON this item for $41 after 100 bids (look in the closed history on their site, my username is watsonm), so I actually paid $141 for this Kindle DX, which retails at Amazon.com for $489. This is a VALID site, I've seen many people win, and I was able to get a smokin' deal on a DX which I badly wanted. Yeah, it's a gamble, so to speak, but aren't all auctions? I love it, and for the sake of MY future bidding, I hope the rest of YOU stay away, so I have a better chance of winning more amazing stuff in the future. I love the site. I just wish I was the one who thought of it 'cause they're raking in some amazing dough, and us consumers are getting awesome deals because of it.
While it takes time and dedication to win an auction, it is not a scam The only real winner of each auction is the winner and the website! If you spend your bids foolishly you will not like the site. Watch how some bids go before spending your money. There are some great deals to be had.
I was told about this site by my brother. We both put in $50 for bids and both walked away with worth more. I got an Ipod Nano for a $1.50 plus my initial bid costs... Total $51.50 for a $180 Nano. You can't beat that!
I would say stay away from these types of websites. It's similiar to online gambling. You pay for bids just for a slim chance to win something.
Who really knows if this stuff is real or legit but you can be assured that you will spend money to try to win and that will cost you in the end. I would say just stay away from anything like this. Save your money and use legit sites, like ebay.
If you have found a way for the site to work for you and thinks its safe, then do it. I just don't like the idea of paying money for a chance to win and possibly being out that money. It's not for me. But could be for you, that's your call.
Well Bidfire advertises it's site as being an auction site. Ok sounds cool have been to many auctions both online(like Ebay as an example) and live auctions.
Well get there and start filling out the profile. Then start looking around, well try to as their search software at the best leaves a lot to be desired(as you will see in the email I got after sending comments to them). Found out in order to make a bid you have to buy bids. Thought that a bid strange as I have never been to an auction where you have to pay or at least until you have bought something. Some auctions the seller pays and some the purchaser. Any who, also read that when you make a bid and lose the auction either way you have lost your bid and have to purchase more. At this point sort of got disgusted with it all and send a few comments. Never did read enough to see if the seller has to pay a fee as in 99% of all auctions. Hello,
Just a comment concerning Bidfire in general. I registered actually had to several times as it seems it kept losing my information for some unknown reason.
This will probably be of no interest as it has to do with the way you obtain your funds. By not re-distributing the bids back to the losers you have to potential to make a ton of money while everyone in actuality has to pay to do anything on Bidfire.
Unlike the true auction sites yours appears to be nothing more than a money grab.
Searches for anything on there is a joke. I did a search for hard drives and got a monitor and a laptop in turn I did a search for desktops and got a vacumin cleaner.
Sadly I will not be able to recommend your site to anyone at this time, not that I am anyone of importance, but the net does have the history of passing problems and comments quite fast.
The thought of paying to play on here is a bit to much as there are way to many up front true auction sites eager to have users without nickel and dime them to death for nothing other than to use your site.
If you believe me to just be a lone disappointed user please check this site:

Hi Milt, we understand that we are not like every other auction site on the internet, that's why bidfire was born, to be something different. We have hundreds of happy winners who come back time and time again to enjoy our high adrenaline shopping atmosphere. We do make money sometimes but sometimes we lose. I'm sorry you are not happy and as for the ability to easily navigate the site, we are working on and unleashing bidfire 2.0 in the coming months that will vastly improve it's functionality. There are also a few features in it that will make people want to stick around, I promise you that:-)
Yours to decide but they at this point appear to be as way to many companies are... Give me the all mighty dollar and be dammed with the user.
Just my thoughts and what I have been told by Bidfire rep.

Alot of people have their own opinion of this site but it is a legit site. I just won a playstation3. I ended up sinking about 200 dollars in total into the auction but i won it saving myself about 100 bucks. My sn on their is smcguffey82. I was just about to give up when i won the auction. I won the ps3 for 60 bucks. It is a gambaling website i played the day before for a ps3 and lost it for 26 bucks to someone else, while i was tring to load more bit points. I almost lost hope because of some of the reviews on this site, i was all for it then got down because i had been a it for 4 hours bidding. Then i googled bidfire scams i found this site at the top of the page. I started reading them and thought to myself what am i don't i am just throwing away money and no one ever wins this, they have an inside man bidding on this stuff. I'd just purchased my 25 dollars (27 bids) and was down to my last two bid points when it happened a separate screen popped up and said YOU WON i began grinning ear to ear. So yes u can win if u don't believe i am real email me if u want *******@yahoo.com
I won several items on bidfire. Macbook pro. Ipod shuffle. 2 ps3's. Nintendo wii. Canon powershot. 32" samsung lcd. And more. Yeah sure it might have seemed i spent alot of money on bids. But i can guarantee you i have saved a lot more than paying for all these items retail. All items were brand new and shipped from amazon. This website is legit. If you disagree then don't bid. Its even better for me..
This site's business doesn't create any value in general. It's like a casino to users who know how it works. I don't got evidence to say they are cheating besides their business model. If you say casinos are scams then bidfire is scam.
If you realized all these and still wanna try your luck, you're on your own.
Most people lost their money in casinos.
At first I thought this was going to be a great idea with a chance to win some new items for not to much if you add the auction price with the bid price, if you watch yourself you can still come out ahead. The catch to this site is that they have either people or a computer that is bidding up the price and after they sucker you into bidding for awhile (spending your $1 per bid) they shut go from loading the bid slowly to boom loaded and winner is one of their guys. What a crock! This would be a really good site and idea if they dealt with the customers honestly. I mean really if you have ever done any bidding on ebay you have plently of people out there willing to overpay for items on an everyday basis they don't have to cheat people to get their money. Don't fall for it!
I just stumbled across this site and watched the bids for a while. The current bid, a $100 instant cash from Amazon, seems "stuck" at 25-23-24 and then back up to 25 seconds without anybody placing the bid. That showed me that this is a scam site and I'm glad I didn't fork over any money for bids. Trust the old saying that if something seems too good to be true, it never is a good thing!
If I understand the way this works from the user "Terms," Bidfire doesn't work like any real auction in the real world in that (1) You buy bid points to begin with, (2) You lose any and all bid points you 'bid' during the 'auction,' and (3) You still have to pay the final auction bid price for the item. This appears to be sort of a 'Ponzi' scheme for morons. What legitimate auction would ever dare try to scam the sum of all bids made during an auction? Eh?
I watched a couple kindle dx auctions both times it was obvious that inside bidders are both pumping the real bidders for all their cash and also that the inside bidders are also the "winners". They stay on as long as there are outside bidders bidding and then as soon as the real bidders finally give up and leave the last two insiders go back a forth a couple times and then one conveniently quits. I've seen it happen with each auction i've monitored. STAY AWAY! I would love to be able to find out if amazon ever gets any orders for the product from this site. I'll bet not. This is utter scam.
I was just on this site and couldn't help but notice that there is this one bidder who has now bid over $700.00 (at LEAST) on an item that only cost about $500.00. Can anyone say YEAH... RIGHT?!? You KNOW that this is an inside bidder pumping the pot. The item is now up to $134.00, and this person bids literally EVERY OTHER bid. That means that so far, this site has made $2,680.00 on this item... not to mention that the person who wins will also have to pay the final price! (Which I personally don't think an actual REAL person is winning many of these things). The reason I say this is because I also noticed that this same particular bidder has won many items on this site. Even more convenient, because now these SCAM ARTISTS can just pocket the money that they got from all of us suckers and start the auction all over again! I cannot believe that this site is even legal! I really hope that someone does an investigation. It's just a disgrace!
Bidfire is insane. You have to buy bids at a dollar a pop. There are only a few items up for bid. Every bid starts the timer again at 45 seconds. It is virtually impossible unless you have an unlimited amount of bids because you are competing with people all over the place. If you're gonna buy bids, then you might as well fork over them money and buy the product outright. SCAM! They are making a killing out of people buying bids who will never get a chance to win!
