The lady said she would txt me support never did multiple times ive tried beyond blue everytime they have offered fake help or none at all. By fake i mean a number to a service that was shut-down. And last time said they will txt me support i received no txt. Was a waste of time. Waste of tax payers money.

Useless.
July 8, 2022

I've tried contacting them on three different occasions looking for mental health support, and the best they could do is tell me to go contact Lifeline or to google it. Absolutely shameful. If I was a danger to myself, this would have tipped me over the edge. I can only hope they lose funding sooner or later, so that more appropriate mental health crisis supports can be developed in case.

Next to Useless

If one has a mental health problem please don't bother contacting Beyond Blue.
By the time you have provided them with so much personal information one is left even more depressed etc, because they don't actually offer anything.
It's like a sham organisation that collects large amounts of money from tax payers via the government.
I was so disappointed that I felt worse afterwards

May 28, 2022

I tried to talk and I feel really sad now. I don't know what to do. This didn't go well and I'm not sure why. I still need help.

They were condescending, rude gave me no help because apparently cause I've called before I'm not in need of help. Poor excuse for a service bet it's funded by the Andrew's govt.

I had my first experience with calling this service recently on Sunday 13 March 2022 and it's an absolute disgraceful waste of time and exactly the same as lifeline. Why bother calling these moronic idiots who cannot change a thing at all or make a situation better? It's like talking to a tree stump and nothing has changed. I'm not suicidal however was in a very distressed state and it's damn pointless talking to anybody further how do organisations like beyondblue and lifeline get funding? I hope it's not government funding. Better off next time drinking away my depression and anxiety than ever confiding to anybody. At least I will keep my dignity and my privacy instead of having to tell an absolute stranger who cannot make anything better. If it was possible to give a review with no stars but just a review this organisation desererves minus 5 stars. They think they are helping but in reality it's just $#*! talking and wastes my time and drains my phone battery.

If you contact Beyond Blue for mental health help, they SMS you a list of local medical clinics in your area. THAT'S ALL YOU GET! If you have further contact with them, they'll tell you that most GP's have little or no mental health experience. Then they just stop talking and you have to ask if they are still there. To finish with, they say they can give you a phone number to call when you're ready to commit suicide and also don't watch TV. Can you believe Beyond Blue get state and federal funding for that? It's just an organisation to create more public service jobs for more lazy public servants. They should all be ashamed of them selves, especially Gillard for stealing off the Commonwealth and the hard working tax payer. They are a hoax and a "no service" organisation. Don't make yourself feel worse by contacting Beyond Blue! I wish you all you suffers the very best in your search for help because you won't get any help from Beyond Blue. Cheers.

They're a corporate front for helping with mental health. They don't give a $#*! about your issues until you give them details like your cultural background. This company makes me want to die even more. Thanks, BeyondBlue

PTSD 8 week course. At week 2 they tell you things might get worse before they get better. They did get worse. By week 3 I was battling suicidal thoughts and I told them that. By week 4 they withdrew me from the course because they don't deal with suicidal thoughts. They could have just mailed me out a fresh length of rope.

The first time I signed up to Beyond Blue, they were very lovely people, willing to help out and were understanding etc. But after the past few months, I've been struggling with unbearable loneliness, anxiety and depression and casually said I had days where I felt like throwing off a bridge (not that I would actually do it) and they moved my post to the suicide forum where nobody saw it. I got an email where they cut parts of my post saying "this line forces people to respond" and each post gets awaiting moderation for hours now before it's posted. Some of my posts have been blocked completely and I have no absolutely no idea why, as I never swore, recommended medication (which is against the rules apparently) or mentioned suicide. They claimed my most recent post went over the character limit (which it did not!) as I had to cut it carefully to fit the character limit and they still refused to post it without an explanation. Since rejoining their forum, I feel as though I am being unfairly targeted by the moderators when all I did was pour my heart out with the most recent post! Nobody is responding me. In a time where I am hurting the most, it has really made me feel worse to find out that nobody really cares. And I thought this was supposed to be a non-judgmental forum dedicated to mental health and people who need help... All I've been feeling is judged! And I'm feeling judged because I'm having my posts cut, edited, reworded and blocked. That really hurts.

$h^! Service
August 14, 2021

I despar that the precious psychology/psychiatry health dollars are wasted on such mickey mouse self referrring and agrandising services. The so called counselling line is only a billboard to be shunted off to their monetised services. They do not counsel and abuse by using false diagnoses. Clearly poorly quailified, likely inhouse course. Bombastic and overbearing. Dangerous for anyone vulnerable. Plenty of false advertising re COVID support, the dedicated lines all lead to the one generic service. The government has wasted precious resources on this corporatised crap whilst emergency psychiatric services and wards fold. Privacy re recorded services a huge concern. BIg brother is leaching. If you donate to this service you are harming Australian society.

USELESS

One goes here for help. Not to be told that you have basically inundated your 'chances' as you have mentioned similar topics in threads. If you are suicidal and need another excuse then by all means 'reach out' to these f pricks.

Disgraceful
March 9, 2021

They are a joke. People ring them when they are at their absolute lowest and have lost all hope. They will just cut you off on the phone after 15 minutes and tell you the call has to end. How do they think this is going to affect people? It's disgraceful. Their counselors don't seem to even have a rudimentary understanding of mental health. They don't pull people away from the cliff, they push people towards it. I'll never make the mistake of ringing them again. I'm hanging on by a thread and they just cut my thread.
As for their "support" forums they are a joke. It's just take, take, take with very little give in return. It's the same few people who reply to posts if you're even lucky enough to get a reply.

They don't care!
August 31, 2020

Honeslty! There is no advice given. I started off the conversation giving them a summary about how I feel and what I am going through. Then they changed the topic and asked "Are you going to self-harm now or consider suicide". I said yes then all they did was sent a link about how to deal with self-harming. Then without even listening to my response they cut off the chat. They didnt even bother to discuss my problems. It felt rushed. It felt like they don't even care and they just want their workshift to end or something. How on earth does this company get money?!

Made me feel worse.
August 20, 2020

Thought I couldn't have felt any worse... well I was wrong. After having an email saying the mods deleted my discussion (did not mention suicide nor did I use foul language) was my first post and posted in wrong thread that's all. Then spoke to counsellor who amongst my tears are pain couldn't wait to end the call on me. Beyond Blue you made me feel so much worse. It's disgraceful. Will never make contact ever again.

Totally useless
May 15, 2020

How can the government spends this much money in this useless service... I mean almost 50 millions? Surely there's more efficient way to use this money to directly help people... it's so frustrating, it's not rocket science really. PS: the people working in beyond blue are not trained in mental health and try basically doing it for money the same way a Coles worker so that give you an idea of the type of service you will receive. It's absolutely disappointing and depressing actually to know that those irresponsible and careless people are given so much money to play with our wellbeing and safety
