Prices and selection are as bad online as they are in-store; I don't know how this awful company stays in business. Product descriptions are sketchy. Questions take days to get a response and when it comes, it does not contain an answer. Ridiculous.

Broke my mother's MacBook Air and completely refused to fix it, despite the facts that A) it was their fault, and B) it was still under warranty with their store. AVOID BEST BUY. YOUR WALLET DEPENDS ON IT.
The prices are always too high at Best Buy. I used to love going to Best Buy till about 5 years ago. But ever since 5 hours ago Best Buy has been a place where people are not very friendly. They really don't help you. And act very obnoxious if you are not educated about a certain technological thing. Overall I prefer other stores.
I wait for their sales and I looks for specials. I shop in store as well.

I am contacting you regarding exemplary service I recently received at the Best Buy store located in Homestead Pittsburgh. While looking for a wireless router to boost my internet signal I spoke with a sales representative named Dustin. Dustin was very informative on the different types and brands of routers, and spent significant time discussing each option. Before speaking with Dustin I had very little knowledge on routers and was unsure of the type of product I needed. His time and advice was very important in my decision on which device to purchase and gave me a better understanding of the product that I was buying.
Along with Dustin's superb service, I also had a great experience with the customer service desk while making a return at the same location. When returning a computer docking station, that I found to be incompatible with my laptop, the product was retuned without hassle and I was given a full refund. I was very happy with the employee's understanding of my situation and the time they spent with me in finding the correct product for my computer.
I am bring this to your attention because the service I received from both Dustin and the customer service desk have led to my return to the Homestead store several times, and due to my experience I will continue to shop at this Best Buy location.

Shops gave limited inventory but you can buy online and pickup at the store in a few days, which is really useful.
Though a very organized outfit, they have something to be desired with prices! Why should it cost me $200 to just have a membership for computer repair. They used to charge $75 for the same exact thing. Guess they need to make money. Also, their return policies stink. I dreaded ever having to return something for they act like as if you kicked their dog or something. I don't need that and I especially don't need to pay higher prices on things either!
I have trouble locating things I am there to look at and I don't find help unless a manager passing me.
For anything computers. I like Staples, smaller store,. Immediate help.

I buy almost all my electronics here because they have great wannabes and they stand behind them. The stores are all set up similar so it makes things easy to find. They have a huge selection of products.
Went in for a new computer and basically got herded down the aisles by people... so chaotic! Ended up leaving and ordering from amazon.
Best Buy is the Best! Great products, excellent customer service and competitive prices. I've purchased three computers, a couple of televisions, Beats Speakers, Beats Earphones and many more electronic items.
The only problem I've ever had was the Beats Speaker Box I received was wired for service in Europe. I had absolutely no problems in returning it.
I have purchased several items from Best Buy online. It's always gone very smooth for me with no problems.
I've bought a lot of computers, electronics, etc. from Best Buy. They have improved their return policies. I especially like "Geek Squad" and their help by buying a yearly maintenance package which I have used a lot.

I've purchased items from them over the years. Too many questions upon return - even unopened items. I'm returning it for whatever reason I need to - and I want my refund without the condescending remarks of the cashier... but I like their warranties - so there you have it.
Best Buy exceeds my expectations EVERY time! I can not say enough about their sales techs. There has never been a time that I have went in with a question that they have not taken the time to explain something thoroughly, It's as if I am the only one they need to help at that time when clearly there are many others. The Geek Squad! OMG... wonderful! Personable, easy going, explains everything. Can you tell that I love Best Buy. Did I say that yet? I Luuuuuv Best Buy.
After buying 3 devices at 3 different vendors- and then having to return all 3 devices-due to each one having a different issue-example-firmware- constant auto photo taking- wi-fi issues. I then attempted to contact this firm in Doral Florida. The corporate number that is plainly listed- is answered by someone that cares nothing-and rather than transfering the call to someone that could have resolved the issues. Told me to go on line. I did- all that occurred was a drop down box- that I submitted about 10 times- and no one ever responded to.
After 2 months- as a fluke- I sent an e-mail to their HR Department- some lady did respond. First she was abrasive-rude- and accused me of fabricating things. I finally realized that after I filed a BBB complaint-I was beating my head a wall.
The phones are beautifully made- the pro's are gorgeous creations. The cons memory 4gb- now they have a new one 16gb- but in lieu of the way this firm does business- for the same $200-$300 I can buy a Motorola or an Asus phone with 16gb- and better spec's and nit have to be called names- and subjected to unruly staff. Call them-average wait time 1 hour before someone answers- guess when you make your money in South America- and then run a 2 person operation here in the USA - I probably wouldn't care either.
Folks- don't take my word for it. Research this firm- the complaints are numerous- and the spec's for the cost and memory base isn't worth your time.
You heard it here- but do what you wish- you may get lucky and get a decent device or the customary lemon.
Disgusted- and furious- but ultimately a waste of energy- time- and really was not worth it. So much for principle. Guess Blu has none.

Answer: All I can say is that you obviously have been very lucky. I was a dedicated customer for 25 years, however, I would do without before I ever spent another dime in a Best Buy!
Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
