We moved to the Prescott, AZ locale and went to Best Buy for the first time needing assistance with a new cell phone SIM card. How friendly and helpful Josh was, and took the time, even though busy, to address all my questions.
We then returned to ask the Geek Squad team about a concern we had with one or our computers, and was very pleased with this great team! They are so darn nice and patient with me, who is not very computer literate.
We came back and spoke with an employee about a printer that would suit our needs and were very well informed with their choices. We did purchase one that day and it has been great almost 6 months later.
This has been our first choice to patronize since our move here almost 2 years ago.
We could not be happier with each and every visit concerning this particular store. I highly recommend others in our area to check out this store due to awesome customer service!
In the past several months, I spent $7,000 on kitchen and laundry appliances from Best Buy in Raleigh, NC. Roughly 10% of the purchase price was for maintenance "Geek Support." Their salesman assured me that "everything" would be taken care of... even minor problems. Best Buy's literature stresses "we support failures from dust, internal heat and humidity, plus defects in materials and workmanship: We provide protection where your warranty comes up short."
So on 9/3/20, I called the Geek Squad to report that my new LG dryer filter was not collecting lint and had never collected lint. The user guide states that the lint filter screen should be cleaned after every use, but I've never had to clean mine. I was concerned this might be a fire hazard. The Geek Squad Technician referred me to LG. He said Best Buy does not cover appliances for the first year because they are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. I argued that I paid for additional Geek Squad support to avoid having to deal with multiple parties... why did they charge me if they weren't going to provide any support at all. He gave me the LG contact number. I requested to be transferred to a manager, but he said there were none available.
The LG representative said that LG provided support ONLY for design/manufacturing defects and this was in all probability an installation defect (something to do with fan speed adjustment), for which I would have to pay for an in-home service call. She said to call the Geek Squad again and report that LG confirms the dryer is not working to specifications and believes this is an installation defect which Best Buy must service. LG set up a transaction so that Best Buy could access their recommendation using my phone number and verify the facts as stated above. They would be glad to talk to Best Buy and provided a number for them to call. LG recommended immediate investigation as there could be a fire hazard.
I tried calling the Raleigh store to speak to a sales manager, but a national call service rep answered the phone after 15 minutes of ringing. He said there was no one at the Raleigh store to talk to and he had no way to leave a message. He referred me to a chat on the website. Best Buy's chat technician rapidly concluded there was no fire hazard because "my clothes have no lint!" I saved the chat for reference.
I am very concerned on two fronts: (1) I was charged for support Best Buy had no intention of delivering, and (2) it is dangerous to dismiss a claim that the manufacturer cautions may be a fire hazard with the absurd assumption that clothes have no lint. I no longer wish to deal with this company's technical team and am requesting a full refund for Geek Squad services.
What good is purchasing a 3 year warranty for over $300 when it takes a week and a half to get a technician out to look at your frig. Whose ice maker stopped making ice and temperatures fluctuate causing us to dispose of food and sour milk. This will be the second time for the same problem which they supposedly fixed the first time out, which was 2 weeks ago. Also had trouble with a Samsung frig. Which I was able to return after writing to BBB. Exchanged for a more expensive LG model, and here we go again. Buy local and use their technicians who are in the area. Best buy, nice stuff if it works properly, customer service really sucks. They all wear ski masks. I'm done being taken for a sucker, hook line and sinker.
BEWARE! Please do not purchase Apple Products from Best Buy! I got an Apple pencil for my iPad. I had to return it as it didn't work on my iPad. Now, they don't want to give me a refund or store credit!
I have been trying to get in touch with best buy for months. None of the stores here in Ontario take calls and has long messages when you call. Customer service is 1 hour wait time and useless. They tell me I need to go in store myself to see if I can exchange an item over 30 days as they aren't sure if due to covid they will allow me. Took 2 phone calls, 4 hours of time, and still no answer. They expect me to drag a child into the store to ask a basic question which none of the customer service team can answer. Do not shop here. Not worth the time and poor service.
I made a mistake to purchase a few items from them. Dec 2018 it was two phones and insurance. My credit card got stolen in 2019 so I needed to update my card number. Waiting on the phone for an hour to get to talk to a human is one thing. Talking to someone who's in Philippines and doesn't speak good English is the second layer of complexity. Poor training and no common sense of these workers is the prize that waits for you at the end. They are reluctant to connect you to a supervisor (in the US) and just keep telling you that they can fix the issue but they can't. After 5 calls and nearly 4 hours of waiting they were able to update my card info. They needed to update the card for both phones. They did it for one only and a week later sent me another email saying that my protection is no longer active because they cant charge the card. I called again, refused to waste my time with the rookies and insisted to talk to a supervisor. After 45 min on the phone, finally was connected with someone in the US who was able to fix the issue. I also had 2 old (since 2013) accounts that had to be deleted. She said it has to be a different department. Just another 45 min and explaining the situation to 3 more idiots and I was able to get this done too. Geek squad or not I just don't care anymore. Will never buy anything from them again.
Everything I have purchased from BestBuy.com has been great. (I haven't been too any of their stores). I've ordered small appliances, televisions, batteries, movies, Amazon products that were cheaper here than at Amazon, and also some miscellaneous items. They have deals of the day, a rewards program, and free shipping. I have never had any problems. Shipping is fast and prices seem to be comparable. I would recommend this store highly.
I ordered a Fire Sense tabletop patio heater from Best Buy online and had it shipped to me. When I began to set it up, I noticed parts were used. The grill where the heat emits from showed oxidation, rust, and smelled of propane; the cylinder which houses the igniter had dirt and black residue from being outdoors and being lit. The heater looked like the warehouse put together a Franken-heater of new and used parts.
The worst service you can get, the delivery doenst work, they made me wait for 6 hours, they dindt show up, they didnt called me and when I called them they treated me like s@#*t. I can understand why, they already have the money. If you go buy something on this company, make sure you can get it, coz the delivery service is a shame..
This is a very good electroninc store. If you want gadgets then you can get them all here. I made an order and the delivery was fast. It was what I wanted and it arrrived safely sealed and I have beeen using it ever since. It has had a few hiccups but I cant blame the store because it does not make the products, it just sells them.
I'm giving one star because I can't give zero stars. First, I'm trying to support brick-and-mortor stores but I will no longer purchase anything from BestBuy.com. They lost a customer simply because of their call center. I ordered a DVD and the box came empty (strike 1). I then called customer service and asked to speak to a manager and they hung up the phone (strike 2). I called back and the support person had a bad attitude because I wanted to speak to a manager. Imagine that, I'm the one who paid money for something that he didn't get and the support person has the attitude (strike 3). Hey BestBuy, outsourcing your customer support has now lost you at least 4 customers as we're a household of four with income of 200K+ who love's electronics. So long, BestBuy, now I'm going to hang up on you.
Received damaged phone that arrived late and I wasn't able to give the hone to my dad for Father's day. After waiting for the late arrival and waiting on the phone for 2 hours on father's day morning I was told it would arrive late. Once it arrived discovered it was damaged. I tried returning it in store and was accused of damaging it. They said I should have checked it in the parking lot eventhough it was a present... Was forced to buy geeksquad protection plan for $50 on top of the $275 i had already payed. They couldn't help me, so I had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment in person to be charged an additional $52 more and wait for the new phone. Not tl mention I have to ship back. Spent 1 hour waiting with Custer service again to be told I waited too long. Worst experience shopping for a phone.
During a lock down time it is the best service to buy best offers on gadgets. Having plenty of the option running on discount prices during lockdown.
Geek Squad is the worst. They are incredibly slow. Nobody knows what anyone else is saying or doing. They lie. They tell you one price one day and double it the next. You can't speak to a supervisor. No one returns your call as promised. The web site is useless. If you go in a store, most employees are just standing around.
Ordered a keyboard and DELIVERY was around 4 days later. I didnt get an update on shipping until the night it was supposed to be delivered.
The update was shipping label created. I figured it would ship the next day and deliver the day after. There was no change for 3 days after delivery. I ended up calling customer service.
The rep said UPS should pick up the next day (4 days later) and deliver the day after or two (5-6 days later). I asked if he could change the delivery to next day. He told me he couldnt. I then asked if he could give me next day shipping on a different item I want to order or a discount code. He then says he can give me next day shipping on the current order -_-. I took it, and plan to not buy online from BB again unless it's a sale deal. I'd rather pay retail price from B&H, Adorama, or some other electronics store.
UPDATE: Still hasn't shipped the item. Called again, and now they say it's coming on Tuesday ( a week after delivery, clearly the last call didn't work). I then ask again for next-day delivery. This guy now tells me there is no next-day delivery (seriously.), and I just have to wait it out. He says my other option is a refund and to drive 40 minutes to a different city best buy to pick up the keyboard. I then say "Can you give at least a decent option other than waiting till Tuesday? A discount on the item, a discount on a future purchase". Nope! This guy literally can't give anything except a full refund apparently (so what can he do?). Whatever, ship it to me Tuesday. He then says an email will come later in the day. I respond "I don't trust you guys clearly, I want the email right now." Oh... he can't do that either apparently. He can't change delivery speed, provide a discount, OR send the email immediately.
TLDR; Order from Amazon.
Purchased a phone from best buy and it got lost. I bought insurance for it and made a claim and paid the deductible and 3 and half weeks later I have still to receive a replacement for it. I would like to see them operate without a work phone as long as i have. This is ridiculous service. I have called several times to the same answer, you will receive a gift certificate within 1 to 2 buisness days. Ive been told that 5 times now, and as I write this review I have been on hold for 30 minutes now waiting to talk to a supervisor because I just got told once again I woul receive one in 1 to 2 buisness days pretty much a joke! Wish I could give 0 stars
As long as you know what to buy, Best Buy is ok to shop at but heaven forbid if you have computer questions. Their lack of knowledge astounds me and all they seem to know is whatever items they are at the time trying to push the sales on. Some prices are reasonable, others are overpriced. Since Frys Electronics is so sparse with their inventory now, its good to see that Best Buy is carrying more computer items but they still have a long ways to go to make it worth the time to shop there. All in all Best Buy is ok especially with in store returns.
Geek Squad Cell Phone Insurance is a scam here's proof: Purchased Geek Squad insurance for my cell phone at purchase. This insurance costed me a monthly fee of 15.81. I had the insurance since May of 2018 and made a total of 27 payments equaling $426.87. I had to use the insurance because my phone broke so I made a claim. The claim process involved making a deposit for the "new" refurbished device that they shipped out to me and charged me the full device price of $1232. Right now you can purchase a brand new s9 plus at Best Buy (their own store) for $849.95 so not sure where that device price came from as the deposit. After the deposit I got refunded $1008 with the difference being the deductible of $224. So I paid a total of $224 plus $426.87 which is $650.87 for a refurbished phone. The refurbished phone then started to perform not like a new phone or not like even like my old broken phone. Unfortunately the little problems with it only started to stack up as I used it daily and got passed the 14 day exchange policy that they have. I phoned them to do an exchange not knowing about this 14 days and they said I needed to make another claim. Now if you don't see how much of a scam this is just by the math I'm doing then I don't know how else to word this. I will be seeing a lawyer to see what my options are here because Geek Squad is running a scam here and gouging customers and I would like them to stop or at least extend their exchange policy to another year, especially when they gave me a faulty device which I didn't find out was faulty until after this 14 day fine print was discovered by a phone call to their customer service. To say this is disappointing and a scam is an understatement and I will be seeking legal action if I don't at least receive another replacement phone for the one that does not work.
Let me start by saying I am not one to write reviews but I have never had such a bad experience with a company's customer service. I ordered a new tv from best buy on June 8,2020 and scheduled the delivery for June 13 between 12 and 6 pm. My wife took off work to be there since it needs a signature to be delivered and after waiting around all day, nobody showed up to deliver the tv with no calls or emails saying they wouldn't make it. I log on to my account to see if that can tell me where it is and it says it was delivered even though it never arrived at my house. I called customer service right away to try and get it resolved asap and waited over 2 hours to ever talk to anyone. She told me that she submitted it for review to look into what happened to it and I would hear back in 24 - 48 hours. I wait over 48 hours with no calls so I called them back and waited another hour on hold to talk to someone. They told me that it was dispatched and still waiting to hear back from the delivery company but could not get into contact with the company. I called back every day to try and get it figured out but they tell me the same thing every time. To wait 24 hours, but I never hear back. Best Buy needs to find a better delivery company to use and hire people that know what they're doing. Nobody can actually help you there and every one of them just transfers you to someone else that is clueless and of course you have to hold for a long time and reexplain everything every time. It has been two weeks now and I still don't have my Sony 65" tv but they were quick to take my $1060. I advise anyone thinking of ordering anything through Best Buy to shop elsewhere because if there is any kind of issue with it they will not be able to help you and will make you jump through hoops to get a resolution.
I approached Bestbuy in Scottsdale to buy some speakers for my son. Little short 5 foot five dumbass at the door said I could not enter without a mask. I said, I'm not wearing a mask. He said no entry. So I pulled Amazon om my phone, placed the order and showed him. He said... good for you. I said, you will be out of a job soon dumbass!

Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
