Had problem with lower train not turning but got that resolved. Only problem i have now is the cuckoo call for the correct hour. I will be getting with Robert Ellis about this problem. Other than those few problems, I love the clock and the way it sounds.
The clock was delivered earlier in excellent packing way. The assembly process was a joyful and my kids like it. It is really a luxury piece in my house. The price is a little bit high but it deserve.
Clock arrived well packaged (though I only ordered a simple 5 leaf / 15" coocoo) and fast. Sometimes phones are pretty busy but I got a call back. Service was great and Bob was wonderful to speak to and took his time with me.
Sorry to hear others had some less pleasant exchanges but mine was sublime. Would order again.

I am so happy with my clock purchase from Bavarian Clockworks. My Dad was in the Army and stationed in West Germany when I was born in 1977 and my Parents bought a cuckoo clock for my Grandparents which as I grew up I was fascinated with. They didn't buy one for themselves so 1994 I bought one for them. They both passed away in 1995. A few years ago my Nana gave me her clock because she knew how much it ment to me. The only thing missing was my own cuckoo clock. So after a lot of research I called Bavarian Clockworks to ask a few questions about purchasing a clock through them instead of a different vendor and some restoration work to my Nana and Papa's clock. I spoke with Bob who was extremely polite, professional and helpful. Answered all my questions and gave me background information on the manufacturers of the model clock I was interested in. 1 week later direct from Germany was my cuckoo clock. In perfect condition, double boxed and bigger and better than I could have imagined. I would strongly recommend anyone looking to purchase a genuine Black Forest Cuckoo clock to purchase it from Bavarian Clockworks. You won't be disappointed, I most definitely am not. My clock was a big investment for me, but it is the heirloom I have always wanted. I now have my Grandparents, my Parents and my own cuckoo clocks hanging in my home. 3 generations of cuckoos starting from 1975.

Good shopping experience. Item was not on the website so I emailed asking about a particular clock. Email was returned the same day and the clock was located for me.
We have enjoyed our clock so much! Bob was easy to work and even called me to make sure I got the right clock!... and there are so many to choose from! We were in Germany and saw a few clocks there, but we were not able to go to the Black Forrest where the clocks are made... Bob's prices are great and I didn't have to pay shipping!
Happy with the choices available. Grew up with a cuckoo clock in the house. Happy to find a clock that has an owl instead of a cuckoo! Love the sound of a clock ticking but find the bird annoying. And I love owls!

When I received my clock, the box was just a little dented and I think UPS dropped it. The clock was not working quite right, the cuckoo didn't sound right. I contacted these folks right away and the same day they called me back, apologized and wanted to make it right. I don't believe the problem was with them or the clock, I think UPS dropped it and injured it. They immediately sent me another one and it works perfectly. They were very apologetic and wanted to resolve it right away - most companies don't want to do that these days, but these folks were exemplary. I am very impressed, will recommend them to all my family and friends, and I recommend them to you. They have quality products and they stand behind them.
