I finally read all the negative reviews about this site. After spending 100$'s of dollars and getting nowhere with alleged "prospective clients". Now I know it's a scam. I've sent this particular client info. Followed up. And they "allegedly" responded twice directly to us to contact them. Called and Sent her an email that I'd be available to chat anytime that's convenient for her. NO response. NOW I get another request for info from the same client from Bark. Stating that "no one has responded to Karen yet" use 6 credits to gain access to their info. I'm ALL SET with Bark.com. Everyone else should be as well.
I'll be adding this to the endless list of dissatisfied "professionals" out there. And the BBB.
We burned through $79 worth of credits without a single response. When we asked about the refund they promised... they gave me back all the credits I had used. Oh great they didn't work the first time I'm sure they will work so much better the second time... stay FAR away!
Hi Bill,
We're sorry that you did not have success with us.
Our Credit Back Guarantee is not the offer of a monetary refund and this is stipulated in purchase.
Please email us at [email protected] and we'd be happy to help you make the most of our platform.

Simply not what is being advertised and a waste of time and money. If you're lucky enough to even get a conversation, you get a grumpy person fed up with calls or someone who will waste your time.
The leads we were provided were either time wasters who did not want to spend anything. This service is sold as "potential clients waiting to speak to you" and most we spoke to were fed up with the calls they were getting through Bark. Those that didn't cancel out calls, fail to respond to emails or simply be rude to us, wanted to spend next to nothing and were of the view "I can do this myself for nothing".
Poor quality leads from the bottom of the pond.
Hi Darren,
We're sorry to hear that you had this experience.
The open nature of our platform means we can't guarantee conversion of all leads, however professionals regularly achieve a return on investment with us.
Please do email us at [email protected] - we have added many new features since you last used us and have some great deals available. We hope that we can help your business grow.

This is a complete scam. You spend money and see no return at all. Leads have disconnected phones and emails that do not work. Stay away from the Bark!
Hi Joel,
We're sorry to hear you got a disconnected phone line. Our policy for this situation is clear - we return the credits if the phone number given doesn't function or the email provided bounces. Did you contact the support team about the issue?
I've spent £100 so far on Bark.com for my videography business and my overall experience has been disappointingly poor. The leads are low quality and the majority of them that I purchased were uncontactable. Most of the leads in my niche are about 25 credits which roughly equates to £1.20 + VAT per credit. So they are not cheap. You call, leave messages, email and text and they don't respond to even say they're not interested. Which makes me question whether they're even genuinely interested leads. I'm also curious to understand Barks lead generation process as I wonder whether they are going for a quantity over quality approach. I even stupidly responded to an email from Bark that said someone specifically requested that I quote on a job and low and behold after spending £30 for the pleasure of contacting this "keen" lead they didn't respond. Their customer service team were relatively helpful when I complained but ultimately my money has gone down the drain and there's not much that can be done about it. The qualification process on these leads need to be addressed. It's been a costly and disappointing experience as I was really hoping that their leads could help me to grow my business. I don't mind paying a premium for quality leads but the leads from Bark.com are definitely not good quality or value for my advertising spend. I've attached a screenshot of a lead which they're offering for 18 credits (£21.60 + VAT) this is the type of brief you can expect when you advertise with them. Would you spend £21.60 + VAT on that? It might work for other businesses but If you're a Videographer or Photographer I'd avoid it like the plague!
Hi Daniel,
We're sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience using our site.
We offer professionals the opportunity to try and convert business and market themselves at the fraction of the cost it would normally be to get themselves to the top of Google (which is what we do).
We do not guarantee work, but provide a platform that should garner professionals a 1 in 5 conversion rate - essentially we want to get you a return on investment.
We do not charge commission and so do not take any earnings from you, nor do we take any earnings from repeat business you may win.
We fee this makes for the fairest system we can offer. We also have a Credit Return Policy to cover any leads found to have incorrect information.
We have some great new and improved features on our site since you last used us and we'd love to discuss them with you - please email us at [email protected].

I was hopeful Bark would be a legit way to get leads for my Hypnotherapy services. WRONG! I purchased the promotional credit package of 30 credits fo around $35. I sent approx 10 quotes. I did not have even 1 person respond. A nice "No Thanks" or " Not interested " would be nice. Once you spend credits and send your info to the prospective client, you are supposed to receive all of their contact info. That didn't happen either. I did receive their name and town, which I searched Facebook for. Not one of them had a facebook profile. Go Figure! Needless to say, the contacts are either bogus or other business professionals trolling their competition.
My BEST form of advertiding is still my website SEO and Google. - Nuf said!
Hi Robyn,
We're sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience using our site.
We appreciate that it is frustrating when customers don't respond. We are an open public platform and whilst we can return credits for leads with incorrect information, we cannot control whether or not a customer chooses to respond. We generally find that responding to the most detailed leads quickly is the key to success on out platform.

I recently connected with an Accountant through bark, Mark Undis. This was my first time having a business conversation with an Accountant about my own business and I must say i'm quite impressed with the professionalism, courtesiesness, understanding, patience, and knowledge Mark Undis displayed and shared with me. I highly recommend bark, and Mark Undis specifically if you need accounting help or professional accounting advice, you will get your moneys worth and then some!

They breached their agreement by not offering proper contact details for the lead. I paid for business contacts, yet most leads have personal emails and if you do reach out via phone or email, its crickets. They refused to refund my money although I received ZERO services in return. Stay as far away as possible. I'm also reporting them to the BBB and any other review site possible to ensure they don't deceive others by their business practices.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Once they get their hooks into you, i. E. they get your email address, they'll never stop emailing you!
And if you're a seller the majority of the 'leads' are false or at best, simply people fishing for quotes to get an idea about how much a service will cost with no plans on actually hiring.
They also sell each lead to tons of people. I once call a 'lead' and they told me: A] they have no idea where I got their details from and B] that I was the 4th call in 5 minutes!
Young, bored, kids also seem to use Bark to prank each other.
Avoid Bark like the plague. You'll thank me later.

I have spent $160 in three weeks to get clients and haven't received not even one. All the effort and time and money went for nothing. Don't be deceived when they tell you job is GUARANTEE or you get your money back. I asked them to give me my money back they didn't even respond.

This is an update to my review written a couple days ago. I went to Bark yesterday, signed in and began looking for a ink to delete my account. There is none so, I called the number listed. Next, there was a recording of a male with an English accent. Could barely understand a word he said.
I was then given a series of options to connect with customer service and pressed #2. The phone rang and rang and rang. I hung up. Maybe 30 minutes later decided to try again. This time I pressed #4.
A lady with an English accent answered. Told her that I want to delete my account and gave my account info. She could see where I had gone in and changed all account info in my feeble attempt to delete.
I told her that because there is no link to delete the account myself, I entered the information "CANCEL MY ACCOUNT." She told me that one has to call to delete. She was very nice, cordial and professional deleting my account while on the phone with her. That was yesterday.
Today I check my email account and there were NO spam emails from Bark. Usually there are 20 or more scam tire kicker request notifications. I am free. Successfully removed myself from them and their emails that I never signed up for.
And thank you to the Bark rep who handled everything so swiftly.
Hi Seo,
We're glad to hear that we could solve your issue for you.

I never signed up for Bark but yet started receiving emails from them. I answered one lead. Most of these people making Bark requests are just tire kickers. Meanwhile, you have spent money to respond to a request.
Today I received a bark request for "robbie". Reading the job description I realized right off the bat that "robbie" is a scammer. He uses different names but the MO is the same. I've been contacted by scammers like robbie using the same scam.
Here's how robbie's scam works:
He says he is starting a new business and needs a website built. He wants it to look like a website that he gives you the link to. So, you go to the website then send him a quote. He accepts! Then he emails you that he will pay MORE than your estimate but you must send the overage to his "partner" who has all the files to send to you to begin work. That's when I knew this "robbie" is a scammer.
He has contacted me several times over the past several years and now see that he/she/it is using Bark to advance the scam. This tells me that Bark DOES NOT check for legitimacy.
Glad I only spent money once. I answered a few free barks but never heard back. They are in Britain. If you're in the US and respond to a bark you will pay exchange rate fees.
Stay away from Bark for leads. The leads most often are bogus tire kickers and Bark does not vet them for legitimacy.
The minute I opened my business and hung up my digital shingle, I started getting messages from Bark.com. I never signed up, and Gmail (appropriately) filtered the messages as spam right from the get-go. I'm not foolish enough to move forward and pay actual money for the chance someone might want to use my services. There are far better ways to drive traffic and sales. Stay far, far away.

When I first came across this site you were able to buy the exact amount of credits to apply for a job, although now it seems the minimum spend to apply for a job is £72 as you have to bulk buy credits. I was ok with spending £10 here or there on projects but to be forced to spend over £70 to apply for a job you aren't guaranteed to get, as a freelancer just doesn't make financial viable sense.
95% of projects I see are vague, giving no information as to what the project even is, making it an even more ridiculous notion to front so much money upfront. I'm also 90% sure half the projects are fake, you'll quite commonly see back to back projects like 'Sue', 'Susie', 'Susan' all with the exact same job details posted within minutes of each other.
Although I have to say among the many projects I've had no reply for I have had one successful project, so if you are serious about applying for projects I would suggest only applying for anything with a bespoke written detail as there clearly are some legit projects out there.

Paid for a load of credits. Noticed we weren't getting any replies, then did some more research to find that the Numbers/email address' weren't even valid.
Seems that either leads are not verified or worse they are being made up. Not sure which.

I see quite good results from Bark. I'm in the accounting /tax field. The key factor, in my experience, is to analyze every "bark" as they call it. One major aspect is the notes. Not only can I see in the notes if the job suits me, but it also shows that the person is honestly looking for this service, not just browsing around and trying out new things... So I usually dismiss those barks without notes, and I do see a high conversion rate, I'd say 1 out of 3. Which makes sense to pay 50 bucks to get a long term client.
Last but not least, if you want to try it out, I have a way to get you a 40% discount on your first package (and I'm also getting some free credits, to be honest...) shoot me an email freelimitedinternet at Gmail. Thanks
Hi Joe,

Bought a lead & travelled 25 miles to quote - got the job - but within 24hrs the customer called to tell me that her neighbour & friend were going to do the job - Nice, so lets add the time & fuel costs into it & see where we are - i would imagine its cost me £50+ - The customers should be made to sign a deceleration to state they are committed
Hi Dan,
We're sorry to hear that you did not make a good return on investment for this lead.
We do not specify that professionals must travel that far for work - professionals can choose the location of their leads to make them the most profitable for them

After purchasing credits and responding to Leeds I had no replies from any customers. I don't even know if they received my offer. I asked for my money back for the credits I purchased and did not use and was told that they would review the situation to see if I was eligible for a refund. That was over two weeks ago. Now they don't even answer my emails. Stay away. You can find better places for leeds.

This site is a complete scam. DO NOT SIGN UP! After reaching out to several potential leads, not one of them answered. Nobody answered their e mails, or phone calls. You would think for such large and legitimate companies, the leads would answer an e mail or a phone call (or even have a voicemail set up). No, not one of them had a voicemail set up or answered a call. Bark is clearly a scam, so avoid them at all costs!

Answer: Bark may or may not be legit, but their barks are very often bogus tire kickers or scammers. They've got a lot of work to do to clean up their act. They need to go straight membership and those needing the work done need to PAY to speak to a professional instead of the professional paying to speak to the bogus tire kicker.
Answer: No it is not, total scam. They take your money and send you fake leads.
Answer: Your reviews are high on Trustpilot because they remove all the negative reviews from their profile. Bark.com removed my review twice. Trustpilot is the only review website that allows businesses to remove reviews for a price. Trustpilot got criticized in several news articles for being easily manipulated of their 'Reviews' for $600 any business profile can push up or down review they want. Look up 'Trustpilot news articles'; they say 'Trustpilot reviews are just paid advertising'
Answer: Agree with above, In my experience, this has been a COMPLETE SCAM. Spend all that money to place an ad, or renew your website, DO NOT INVEST IN BARK
Answer: Bark don't verify whether any of the customer tel numbers actually work and most of the leads are poor quality so they won't answer anyway. Save your money, honestly.
Answer: Very true. Misleading leads. No lead vetting. Just Bark saying leads have been verified. But how do we know when no lead responds. They seem fake to me. Bad experience and worst leading platform.
Answer: Bad lead quality, stay away. Zero customer service. On the phone they will tell you that you are wasting their time.
Answer: The 1 star reviews are real. All the other 5 stars are not. This website preys on desperate businesses that require work and signs them up with a cost. First, they searched deep on the internet as my business has NEVER heard of them before their Spam-my email. They send an email stating that I have a lead on their website that I NEVER signed up on. Then ask for money to see who this lead is. To keep their site running, they say to people who are looking for particular businesses that they have them when they don't.
Answer: £1.20 per credit for a starter pack, then £1.50 after that and unqualified leads with next to no information cost between 10 and 18 credits. 10 leads will cost over £200 and doubtful will generate any work
Answer: It's because the positive customer reviews are almost certainly fake. Look at the dates. Look at the volume of reviews. Approximately 100 positive customer reviews of Bark have appeared on Sitejabber between early December 2019 and today (late January 2020). Compared to the number of reviews they received prior to December 2019, that is just an astounding number of reviews. This is not normal.
