After posting several other reviews on similar sites I have been contacted and advised that one only license has been reactivated. So I cannot give five stars as I did on other sites because I still believe that at least two should have been reactivated. One is better than none, though.
Nothing unlimited about this program. The company expects for you to own the same computer for 30 years. Please read when you purchase from them... unlimited only means same pc and same computer for life... smh
This company does not care about delivering REAL VALUE to customers or delivering on promises they make. Instead they rely on tricks and dishonesty to scam people and steal money, make false promises and deliver no value beyond free or native OS tools that already exist.
For example they will claim to sell you 'unlimited subscription' they will NOT tell you anyway except in small print buried in the terms of service (WHICH THEY CHANGED) that this in only good for one computer.
There are many such example with them. Its all marketing and scams. There is NOTHING OF VALUE here Just a lot of frustration and disappointment. Use any other tool.
I bought AVS with an unlimited access. UNLIMITED. I got a new computer and I am told that I cannot put the programs on my new computer? This is rather shady, don't you think?
Hello, it´s sad to hear that we failed to live up to your expectations. However, please note that you can always find the full text of the agreement on our website https://www.avs4you.com/license-agreement.aspx.
I want to tell you what a great product the AVS Video editor is; I have used many of the other editors out there, and AVS is the best---at least for me. I like the light background, it is much easier to see what you are doing, I'm happy you have added the ability to separate the audio track from the video (a great improvement) and, I appreciate how good you are at responding to questions. None of the other companies have as good support response as you. You are A-One!
Dear Mike, thank you for your feedback!
Thank you so much for your support, my license have not expired in a year,
That is a plus, glad that you have gotten that issue fixed. I just purchased my third unlimited license (thank for the one subscription gift) I cannot tell you how much i love your software and its hassle free uses, it is the most compatible conversion program I have ever used, it never fails. I have convert most of my DVDs to MPEG2 without any issue, the quality is a 1 to 1 conversion ( SD) What else can I say but Good job guys and thank you. Loyal Customer...
Hello Robert, thank you for your comment!
There is easier and better software to use. I downloaded this software and paid for it on a recommendation but could not use it. I tried to return it and they actually fought with me over it. I put in a paypal claim "item is not as described" because it didn't work properly. PayPal actually decided the case against me. Anyhow because of this software and the decision I am now going to my bank, getting them to refund my money, and I am now deleting my PayPal account and I will NEVER use them again. Their return policy is lies as far as I am concerned.
I could not read my video files in Video Editor so contacted Support. Their response was instant and successful. One could not ask for more!
Dear John, thank you for your feedback!
Great programs but beyond that, the Staff is excellent. Fast responses to requests for support. I wouldn't be without their entire line of programs. I purchased the unlimited license several years ago and it was a great investment. All their programs are very intuitive, if you can find the on switch on your computer you'll have no problem using them... Totally satisfied... Don
I have use AVS4YOU for a number of years and always had a very rapid response from the support team with system registration help. Keep up the good work..
Apparently their "unlimited" license is very limited. Not only to one computer, but to THE SAME computer. Once i for a new computer the license was invalid.
I use AVS4YOU to put together highlight videos of events I perform at. It looks like it has everything you need but the most simple functions are complicated multi step processes. For example - I have dozens of 3-5 second clips that I put into one "movie" where I would like to mute the audio and overlay my own track. The is extremely difficult. You have mute each clip *one by one* because there is no way to "select all" and mute things all at once. Also there is no simple way to add an opening "credit" slide with your text, the same is true for a closing credit slide. This again in a multi step process. The average at home user will find this difficult and cumbersome to use.
I have Two paid software. I am going to install on separate new computers. In the past I have always received support from AVS4U. Even when I lost my computer and had to find the account info they were quick to respond and help me.
I'm going to buy a newer version for my new laptop.
AVS concept is a good idea combine any aspects of editing and converting in a few packages or as a whole. The problem is the software is very buggy and when you need support its days and weeks. And then they ask you silly things like rebooting your PC or reinstalling software. Thats their go to reinstall. The price is good but the product is just ok. Id give it 2.5 stars as the support is at times rude and condescending.
Update: This company should be investigated for fraud, claiming and unlimited product use. The claim its not valid on a New Pc, but their own updates make the OS and software obsolete. I had the same HD and the same video and sound card only a new motherboard and they socked me with another 60.00 to use a 6 month old product. I had the product 6 months and mt MB died, they could careless. But as noted they set you up to eventually not be able to use their software on your machine by making update that create incompatibility.
I Googled for video editing a long time ago, found AVS, and they had more than I needed but offered a great deal (and still do) on all of it bundled. They keep their products up to date, definitely worth the purchase.
I have a happily used the software suite for several years. After a major hard drive crash, I lost the software and licensing key, and no longer had the associated account email. After sending a request along with a copy of my original receipt, they sent me another key.
While the one-computer rule seems harsh, it is clearly stated in the agreement. 5-stars if they could clean this up to account for routine system/hard drive events.
I had used AVS Video Editor 6 in 2013 for several months, then recently needed to use it again. I updated to 8. 1. 1, and was happy to see a familiar UI that had some new features. I started off getting re-acquainted by opening their sample Diving01. I let it fully play, then was trying out some of the controls - scrubber, Text, audio, fills. About 10 minutes into it the Preview went black, but audio was fine. I searched around, found some people a similar issue, but no actual solution. I exited AVS, came back in and had same problem. I re-installed 8. 1. 1, and re-booted my machine, but that didn't help. So, I took a screenshot, and sent email to AVS support describing my computer (Win10, Asus 3.8Ghz, 32Gb RAM, nVidia graphics card), and the issue I was having. Within two hours, someone named Tess replied back with step-by-step instructions, that fixed the problem.
I started and finished an 8 minute YouTube video project in one hour, that included a raw 330 MB file that I converted to. Vob using VLC Editor, from a video shot on my Sony cam. I edited the sound track by muting out some weird noises - it's so cool that you can do this directly on the video track. I added some text, that fades in at the start, and another one at the end of the video. Added a logo, and contact info.
When done I produced the YouTube video, there's actually an option for this, along with many other format options. I saved it, and played it on my PC, looked great, then loaded it into my YouTube channel.
The "black preview" problem was due to me not using the nVidia's video buffer. The fix by Tess was to go into AVS menu item Edit | Settings | Preview | Video Rendering | select radio button "use video buffer". Then I exited, came back in and all worked great from then on.
Don't believe the people posting online about poor support! I'm a happy user.
No matter what technical service I need, support Services is there for me. Great job. I would not change a thing, y'all are doing a superior job. Well worth the money I spent on this program.
They offer a UNLIMITED license, however it's VERY LIMITED. They must think you're going to keep using the same PC for 10+ years without upgrading. I had built a NEW and was migrating all my software over to the new one, however they claim I have to buy another UNLIMITED license even though the old PC will be reformatted.
This is only 1/2 of it, the software was not the greatest, and not worth paying for again.
