Amazon Audible Service is a credit card fraud operation owned and operated by Amazon.com, Inc. When you give your credit card details over to Amazon Audible Service in order to subscribe to their free one month subscription they continue to charge your credit card monthly even when you opt out. When you call them to complain they will claim the monthly charges will stop, but they are lying, they will continue to keep charging your credit card for as long as they can.
Proof that there are countless victims of Amazon.com, Inc. credit card fraud operation:

If you "don't have time to read", then you don't have time to listen. Unless you're mentally handicapped, reading is much faster than listening. I would poiint this out on Amazon where it belongs, but Amazon banned me for being critical of their products--just like this one. Liberals like Jeff Bezos can bite me, anyway.
I signed up for the free month trial to test it out. As I am living in Australia I was prompted to switch over to the Australia Audible site for more appropriate content and so I switched, however I was charged instantly and my free membership was revoked without any prior indication that it would be. I was also charged an additional fee of $2.88 on top of the membership fee that I was unaware of. I feel like this was unfair and that I should have been told prior to switching accounts that the free membership was going to be revoked.
Audible is literary the worst. This company's goal is to steal people's money. All I wanted to do was to read one book and I got tricked into subscribing for audible because it said that it would give me the book for "free." Well it turns out that they charged my card because they tricked me into clicking on subscribe. I tried to cancel the subscription but there was no place anywhere on their website that let me unsubscribe. They won't allow you to unsubscribe because they just want to steal your money. This company is just trying to steal people's money and time. It took me forever to try to find a way to cancel my subscription, and I wasn't able to find a way to cancel it so I just deleted my card from Amazon and hopefully they won't charge my card anymore. So if you're looking for a book online and you see an advertisement that says "get a free book on audible" do not click on it. These people are thieves.
I was enticed by the 1 free credit when you sign up. I got my audio book and enjoyed it. After the month, I got charged for a membership. No biggie, I'll take the blame for not reading the fine print on that one. I cancelled the subscription and thought that was that.
2 Months later, I find more charges, that cost MORE even after I've cancelled. The problem? They autosubscribed me to both audible.com & audible.ca and double charged me (in USD and CAD). So when I originally cancelled, I had a whole other. Com account that I was completely unaware of. What a scam. Now I'll have to try and get my money back.
My experience with Audible was terrible. Charged my account repeatedly, told me different stories every time I called, said that the card had been declined, and refused to refund. What's worse, I wasn't even given the credits I was charged for! Would not recommend!
Audible has been getting cheaper and cheaper. I am ready to find an alternative. Now credits can not be used as gifts. Its my money, why can't I spend it how I want: listen to a book myself or gift a book. I am looking for an alternative.
I LOVE THE PRODUCTS, but the billing and customer service is a big zero. They never let you know when your trial is over or if you suspend your membership for a few months they start you back in billing without letting you know. Then try to cancel it... Oh boy you have to figure it out on your own it won't happen through the app or in my case on my Mac. Some how I got through with a long wait on a phone call and got a 3 month bill supposedly refunded I have to wait to be sure...
Been with Audible for several years. My wife has a book club, so they read a lot. Afew months ago the book club stopped meeting, so she dit not get any more audio books. She currently has 8 unused credits in her account, each worth about $15.00. When I asked to cancel her membership I found out that I would lose all 8 credits and the use of the program all together. I feel that I have been defrauded, those 8 credits are worth something and should not be taken away. Keep this in mind before signing up, they are fraudulent!
Initially getting my account was good but when it came time to canceling my membership I found this extremely difficult to do. I had my account on my phone but audible insists that you must cancel your membership on a PC. Long-story short even though I canceled my audible account they used my billing information to continue charging me. I lost $98, and I could not get a refund for this. Also in generally their books are incredibly overpriced, it is much wiser to just do some creative searching online and eventually you will navigate yourself to the audio book you want. Do not take the risk with this product, trust me it is extremely infuriating to have to deal with them.
I had to stop and review. Audible offers a lot, they don't deserve to be lied on. I've enjoyed Audible for years there's lots of cool romances and memoirs, their interface is wonderous, you get a free audiobook of your choice during the trial offer. Just end your subscription in a month if you don't like it or don't want to pay. I've done it plenty of times. They're like this huge company, they don't charge you if you don't want to stay with it. It's really cool to listen to Audible in the car, exercising, doing housework, long computer sessions. I recommend staying to buy at least 3 audiobooks. Everyone should have 3.
I really love it but lately I have not been able to give my own reviews on anything that I have listened to and that bothers me deeply. I thought readers, listeners would have a say.
I love the selection & ability to download the data to my account. I listen in my commute or on road trips & typically consume ~1 book/month. This learning has literally helped me become a better version of myself. If you are passionate about helping our world improve, the ideas in this app can help you do it.
BONUS: I received an e-mail during the COVID-19 isolation phase about a website full of free audio books for kids. As a father of two, I'm thrilled to share one of my passions with them.
I do not have an audible account but was charged for a monthly subscription. Audible claimed my credit card was a default backup credit card because my wife had used that credit card for a purchase on Amazon a year ago. Amazon stored my credit card information then provided it to Audible so Audible could charge my card without my authorization or knowledge, seem illegal to me...
Within ten seconds of signing on I got a message from Brave browser that it had blocked 10 pieces of spyware from Amazon (Audible is owned by) and there is NO POSSIBLE WAY to download the MP3s -- you have to always stream.
Screw the surveillance state. This is utter and complete bullsh*t.
I've had an amazon prime account for years. NEVER ordered, authorized or accepted an audible account. Was charged on Sunday, called, complained and had it refunded. Immediately after refunding, they charged my sons account( his debit card was removed from my account a couple of months ago.) Not only did they charge him, they obviously save debit cards that have been used( he bought a gift for his girlfriend which is the only reason his card was ever on my account) Investigation opened, they have so many complaints, class action law suits... Amazon needs to quit partnering with them. WATCH YOUR ACCOUNTS CLOSELY
After cancelling membership they continued to take funds from my account for four months. After numerous phone calls with nobody that could help I had to cancel my card to stop this happening even though I had an email from them four months prior confirming cancellation.
Do not trust this place! They of course will write good reviews on their website BUT plz Trust Me and others! They will keep taking money out of your account. They do it even when you CANCEL your membership! Imagine this company doing this do people who are Blind! Trust me audible karma is looking your way!
I joined Audible a couple of years ago and couldn't be more satisfied. The selling points are: audio samples and in-depth descriptions of each title, user reviews/ratings, excellent customer service, including exchanges which are made with little trouble. Members are granted two free titles from a selected list each month. And the selection has something for everybody. I have never been disappointed.
This service says that you can have one free month with an Amazon prime account. Beware! They advertise the book will be free then they charge a lot for the book without any warning. Their customer service will not assist at all. They will refund the charge in 7 to 10 days from the day you call them but they treat you as if you are to blame. I've never been treated so rudely before and I'm looking at other services for audiobooks.
