The overall reputation of the company reflects a mix of nostalgia and disappointment among users. While some appreciate the diversity of opinions and the community's willingness to share knowledge, many express frustration over the decline in answer quality and the prevalence of rude or unhelpful responses. Concerns about inadequate moderation, particularly in sensitive sections, highlight a need for improved oversight to enhance user experience. The rating system is criticized for failing to promote accurate answers, leading to a perception that the platform has become less reliable over time.

It's a good site for input. When I look stuff up I get results from many places and compare. Answers.Yahoo.com is a good source to gather from. It's not always right, but no site is.
I used to enjoy this website very much, however in my opinion far too many of my questions are deleted. I could understand this if my questions were in violation of the Community Guidelines, however most of my questions are legitimate and I am posting them for the sole reason of increasing my knowledge, which is what this website is supposedly for.
In my experience the worst section of Yahoo! Answers seems to be Cars and Transportation. I have posted numerous questions about buses, which is one of my main interests, only for the majority of such questions to be deleted for no apparent reason.
It really is a love/hate relationship with me because it is everyone's opinion on EVERYTHING, though in the end, i trust what other yahoo users say :)
I used yahoo answers a lot a few years ago, back then you could actually get relevant answers. Now it's mostly full of people who are just guessing or who are only there to vent their own anger at other people. I get a lot of irrelevant answers or simply rude "answers". I don't even know how many times I've had replies such as "because you're stupid" or "why are you even asking questions on here". It's really just full of people who are out to be mean to others and make everyone feel bad. If you want real answers DO NOT use this website, you will only be disappointed and probably insulted a few times.
Hit or a miss. Some questions are funny, serious or bizzare. The same really applies for their answers as well. More often then not I feel that people on yahoo answers are either full of it or they don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. Take what people say with a grain of salt.
Any question anytime. This website is great. The best part is it displays everyones opinion on the topic instead of just one like wiki answers. Great site, a lot like sitejabber.
This site is very useful in answering any questions you might have about any topic! There is a big community of people just waiting to help you. Definitely worth checking out.
I find yahooanswers to be entertaining at best. You will get some good advice sometimes but you will also get a lot of silly answers or unrelated to the question you ask.
I find a lot of people ask very detailed questions but won't wait around for a good answer. In other words if you write a detailed answer to the person that asked the question they will have already moved on before they see your answer. What this causes is one liner answers and not very good ones at that.
I think if they would make everyone wait a couple minutes before their answers appear it might make some people actually give good answers.
I think you should give it a try and see if you like it.
This is an encyclopedia of information. I have been using this website since 2 years and I've achieved the highest level (Level 7). Really a good effort by Yahoo for increasing our knowledge and providing intelligent people to share their knowledge with others.
I like this site the best of all the answer type of sites. I can quickly locate the topic I am after and be able to read a few different Q & A to determine more about that topic. Usually I read half a dozen or more about the same idea, so I can get different perspective and be able to formulate some of my own thinking about it.
Of course, not all of the people who give answer input know what they are talking about, but that is ok too as it still shows the willingness of community involvement and participation. I think it is good also for the fact that we can dispel misinformation by seeing what is not true about ideas we are interested in.
I love yahoo answers as a pure entertainment source. Looks like I wasn't alone... read this if you have ever used yahoo answers... funny stuff

Yahoo answers is a great idea however some things on the website can be misleading it is possible for anyone to upload an answer to any question. If you would like to ask a research question like "how many wives did king Henry VIII have?" I would reccomend doing some research. If you would like to ask a question more like Where do i buy or how do i build, you might get a slightly better answer as people usually just upload links for these other websites, however some can still be misleading.
To conclude this website is a great idea however i would be very carefull when using this website and back up peoples answers with your own research
Thank you for reading my review

The idea of a Q&A site is great, but I think Yahoo Answers might be misleading millions of people because so many of the answers are just plain wrong and it's impossible to tell!
I used to use the site often when I wanted to look something up, but then I ran across some questions that I knew the answer to, and the answers on Yahoo Answers were wrong. I no longer use Yahoo Answers for anything (it would be like trying to learn history by reading Dan Brown).
I have asked a few questions, sometimes the answers are very helpful, and sometimes not. Kinda hit and miss.
It is best for light research, finding questions already asked and looking at the answers to give some guidance.
Good site overall.
Sure not always correct but is amazing with a good community, that are willing to help. Yahoo answers reminds me of this site but instead of site reviews they are Q&As. You can ask any questions such as... How to tell if something is overheatting?... to something like... What is a blah blah?... can be very helpful but can have spam or fake info every so often.
A great website to get subjective answers to commonly asked questions. Fun, but not always completely accurate.
The premise is simple, someone asks a question and you answer the question if you want to. You can view all open questions or choose practically any category you can think of except for adult topics. I have found this site to be very addictive.
Website owners use Yahoo Answers to drive traffic and improve SEO - I never understood why anyone would bother posting answers to questions on Yahoo Answers. Then I figured it out - people trying to promote their own websites. These people answer questions all the time so they can put the URL of their website into their post signature. I think some people believe each of these inbound links will increase their search ranking on Google, but these are NO FOLLOW links, so I don't think it will work for them. However, if you answer a lot of questions well on Yahoo Answers you will get a decent amount of traffic to your site (particularly if you get selected as a "best answer"). To me, this seems like a lot of work for 20-30 referrals/day. But I suppose if their posts are very topical each referral could be pretty valuable.
