Communication was great until I made a 500.00 deposit to lock in my rate to refinance my home! I would literally leave work at moments notice to get the documents needed, which honestly was not an issue because I was under the impression we were moving forward. Instead I started receiving emails from a completely different processor asking me for the exact documents and that I needed to pay more money to get a appraiser after it was already done! My original processor went MIA!, then from there I requested for both to contact me of a conference call through email to get this mess sorted out well guess what weeks later and no response from neither processor. We started literally almost 6 months ago and got no where! Now I'm sure I'm going to have to follow up for the next several weeks to ensure I get my damn money back! This was the worse service and lack of professionalism I've never experienced this bad seriously! PLEASE LOOK ELSE WHERE! 6 months! And got no where!

Bait and Switch - $500 Application Fee Lost
November 30, 2021

After my application, I had to wait nearly a month for an appraisal. When the appraiser's report finally came, it was full of omissions and glaring inaccuracies and valued at far less than Zillow‘s estimate or the estimate of local real estate agents. As a result, Ameisave lowered the amount of funds available to lend and increased the fees from their orgininal estimate. In my opinion, a bait and switch. Despite my appeal for a correction of the appraisal report and documenting the inaccuracies, there has been no response from AmeriSave. Stay away from this lender who, unlike most lenders, charges an upfront, non-refundable $500 application fee. Horrible experience.

Waste of time and money
November 27, 2021

Tried to refinance with Amerisave. Very slow process. Appraiser they used came in $50,000 short on home value. After my refi was turned down, I checked with Mr. Cooper. Appraisal was close to what I expected and loan was approved in a timely manner

As an experienced real estate attorney who has worked with other online mortgage lenders, I expected a smooth process when I applied for a refinance loan. Just wish I had visited this site and read the reviews which all accurately explain my experience. Despite 800 credit scores, 60 % equity, this company has continually asked for more and more documents. They even requested me to obtain our tax transcript from IRS. I complied with all their requests even though many times they requested the same things over and over again. But the final straw was when I received their Closing Disclosure as we approached a closing date. They had REDUCED the loan amount and TRIPLED the loan origination points as they claimed that we had requested a change in terms. UNBELIEVABLE. I now have an email into the supposed manager over my loan processor. If this is not resolved promptly, I plan to pursue all legal remedies. UNDER all circumstances, do NOT use this company.

Bait and Switch
October 28, 2021

I went with Amerisave on a cashout refinance of 150k on a 300k house value. My credit was over 800. The interest rate offered was 2.25% on a 15 year loan. Like most people here, they required a massive amount of documents. I expected this, so no problem. After 4 months of providing everything, they submitted the final contract with the interest almost a point higher than we agreed on. They did not draw attention to the change, just emailed me the new contract. When I asked about the changes, they said the product they originally offered me was no longer being offered. I declined the changes and went with Loan Depot. They offered me the same thing and we closed in 35 days. My advice is to give AmeriSave a pass. If you have a similar experience, be sure to file complaints with the BBB and Attorney General for your state. If you don't file complaints, they will continue to do this to unsuspecting applicants.

Stay away from this lender. Imagine after asking for my mortgage payoff. That I had to get my self because my present mortgage company refused to give it to them. I wonder why? And they kept asking for same paperwork over and over again. Delay after delay. Finally I demanded an answer after that they said I was denied the refinance?

Stay away and read reviews. Have been lied too on 3 occasions from loan originator about refund of application fee $500. Each time stated that he has started refund process or will check into status and no response. Now I am getting no response. Was initially going to refi and was unable to due to length of time since last refi. Planned on using Amerisave when eligible but will never use and will make sure to let others know not to use them.

After months of dealing with them and sending the same documents over and over, we were set to close. We were supposed to close the following week. They did not give us a date. I called Matt and he said he would check on it. He thought maybe they needed something else. Never heard from him again. Next thing I know is that the person from their credit dept. left. So the whole process started over. I sent them everything again and again and again. I would get a you are good, all caught up. In a few days they would request the same exact documents. I kept giving them the same information, because I had to pay them $500 upfront, very stupid on my part. As time went on I realized they were not going to give us a loan and I gave up and lost our money. I have since then got a loan with a reputable bank.

I refinanced with no issues back in May. My home insurance is paid in full until May 2022. I had recently switched insurance companies, but was before the refinance and Amerisave was provided all the account info numerous times. Despite this they paid my previous insurance company $4500. It took 3 months to find out the mistake and they are requesting $900 more a month. Got refund from insurance company and paid back to escrow account. A reanalysis was requested and I have been waiting and waiting. Made multiple phone calls and never a straight answer. Horrible customer service and caught a manager in a blatant lie yesterday. Stay away from Amerisave. Would like to give a negative rating, but not an option.

DO NOT TRUST. SCAMMERS!
October 20, 2021

Called to get a refinance. Told me we could close in a few weeks. Paid the $500 application fee, and was moving forward with the loan. Come to find out from Fannie Mae that because we just bought our house in June, we couldn't refinance our loan for six months, which would be in DECEMBER! They said EVERY mortgage company knows this. Had I known this I NEVER would have paid the $500 fee. Sent an email to the loan officer telling them to withdraw our application, and refund our money as they were deceptive, and knew we couldn't close in a few weeks. Haven't heard ANYTHING back in two days. Disputed the charge with my bank. Won't let this go. Scam scam scam

I paid an appraisal fee of $425.00 while going through pre approval process. I chose another company because their rate was a whole point lower. Was told my $425.00 was nonrefundable even thought no appraisal was done by them. Would never recommend them to anyone.

Waist of time
October 13, 2021

It's unfortunate that I didn't do diligence in my research of this so called company. From the very start of the process it was very inconsistent. Extremely poor Costomer service. It's seems as though from top to bottom the employees seem to be on very different pages. Fallow up response is terrible, communication terrible. In all honesty I believe that there is something far sinister taking place there. I initially worked with a agent that left amerisave for reasons she never said but she led me to believe and stated that certain clients were treated differently than others. I honestly don't think they had me in their best interest. I waisted very close to 50 days with this so called company. I would not advise anyone to seek their services for anything. Worst company I have ever dealt with in my 63 years and I've purchased a handful of homes in my life. Stay away from these people for your own good.

Please consumers do not use this company for refinance. They are dishonest and once you give them that $500 for the application you will be on your own. I went to them to refinance a home I have lived in and been paying my mortgage on for over 20 years My credit was at 630. Deja Matthews took my application and processed my $500. Could not get a hold of her after. The end result is I was told the loan would close in 2 weeks, two weeks turned into 2 months and they totally destroyed my credit and the loan was never closed. Please run ‍

Made the mistake of following a loan officer I'd worked with previously to this company. I could see the changes in him within the first week, but it took me until the day before our original closing to really regret this decision. As others have said they constantly change the goal posts and give you one more "last condition!" Time and time again. Our sellers rain out of patience and pulled the plug after the third extension addendum expired, meaning we lost out on our dream house and my pregnant wife will likely be giving birth in a trailer. Do NOT go with AmeriSave!

The sales force of Amerisave is great at pulling you in - super friendly. Once they have you as a customer good luck getting any help from them. The rates are ok not very competitive. We fed them all our info and they approved our loan but they wer always difficult to reach. No phone calls you are given a personal email to use for your questions. It was not even clear how to send our payment. I called customer service o their web site and got a very odd email address. It was invalid. Eventually we were given a proper address. However my bank account number was recently changed due to fraud. They refuse to accept payment from the new valid account making us miss a payment. The company was difficult to work with. I would not recommend. It took a really long time to get the loan and the rates were just ok. If they were just easier to reach would have made such a difference.

I went thru 1 agent and my loan wasn't approved. It was for to much money. I had another agent call me the same day and said he could get it approved. Lowered what I wanted to borrow which was fine with me. Paid application fee which I had to borrow. Drug it out for 4 weeks then told me I didn't qualify. I own my home no mortgage on it. So if I would have defaulted they would have had a home appraised at 121,000 for a 61,000 loan. I would never send anyone to them for a loan. They lie to you through the whole process. DON'T TRUST THEM.

No Integrity
September 25, 2021

We received a quote for a refinance with no closing costs and accepted the offer less than 24 hours later. The customer service Rep confirmed when we called to apply that the rate was still valid. After applying for the loan he called back and told us they would not honor the original offer and quoted a much higher rate requiring money at closing. We had other offers that were comparable to Amerisave. I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY.

Working with AmeriSave was a very good experience. The instructions were clear, I would use them again, The experience was professional and thorough and the representative, Cody, was quite knowledgeable and went through multiple options. Everything was online and the closing was easy and the rate was definitely one of the lowest. Glad to have worked with them. (Louisiana)

Not knowledgeable
September 18, 2021

Do not use this company! We are scheduled to close in two weeks and my loan originator manager just called me and said I don't qualify after approving me because of a late payment over a year ago! We have paid for inspections and appraisals only to hear this for the first time since I was approved back in August! We are devastated! My loan originator Alex Gganah told me I was approved and provided me with approval letters and he has communicated with me this whole time that everything looks good. Whatever documentation the underwriter requested I provided only to get this call today!

After you pay the $500 application fee you will find they will not take your calls. They only communicate through document request. No matter how many times you send it they keep requesting it. I called the customer service finally got someone to answer. They could not help me but a Mr. Daniel would call someday... still waiting on someday.
