I came across as weird and annoying yesterday that they don't waive the one-time interest charge. I have been using my Amex Platinum card for so long and have never missed a payment ever. However, I accidentally missed one payment last month just for a day. When I called the customer rep the next day, he told me he put the refund for the late fees and interest charge, but it never happened. After making multiple calls each week, I finally learned through their supervisor that they could only waive the late fees but not the interest charge, which I felt was very pathetic. All the major credit cards companies, if you have an excellent history, they do that at least one time, BUT Amex has no exception. Very sad and non-courteus
MINUS -10 All looks well from the start £6,000 monthly spend cap worth the £595 a year fee. On day 25 of your cooling off period they send a letter out 2-3 days to arrive day 27-28 comes the letter will reduce your spend cap dramatically in my case £6,000 dropped down to £900 cooling off period past. And still get charged in their words pro rata. All lies lies lies trick you into false presences and still get charged the subscription fee outrageous from amex AVOID at all costs not worth the paper it's written on. Instead I now have a 0% credit card no fees monthly cost or anything for 24 months with a £10,000 spend cap not like amex scamming people out of their well earned money. Disgusting from amex stay clear. If they kept your spend cap to what they first give you in the thousands the subscription is worth it. But dropping your spend cap after your cooling off period is over and still being g charged is a Disgusting SCAM if you ask me knowing people won't pay their £600 a year fee and cancel they still scam you out of your money. So folks avoid at all cost go get a 0% credit card for 2 years cancel it get another one for 2 years FREE avoid amex £1,200 charge for 2 years ridiculous.
For 20 years, I was a good customer with AMEX. Lately the customer service has been absolutely terrible. They are using people from all around the world who they can pay PEANUTS. They are scripted and unknowledgable. It always boils down to GREED with upper management and this company.
Customer service is severely compromised and they don't seem to care at all.
Recently, I called with a small problem. I was initially given and international representative. All she could do was work from her script. When I requested to speak to a rep in the USA, she hung up on me. Upset by her reaction, I called back and again received a man from another country. I immediately asked to speak to the USA, as I knew this problem could not be solved with a script. I was placed on hold for quite some time and the transferred to yet again another international person. I tried to explain the situation and again this person could not help me. I requested a Supervisor in the USA. After
Sitting on hold for over 10 minutes, I was transferred to a Supervisor in another country. Two phone calls, one hour and four people later and my problem was just being addressed.
I was extremely upset as this should have taken 5 minutes to solve and I could have been on my way. Instead my entire lunch hour was gone and I was into work time.
I have now been notified that AMEX has cancelled my accounts because I became upset.
Well AMEX thank you, I have never been happier to rid myself of your treachery. I hope every person who reads these reviews makes an educated and intelliegent decision to never open an account with AMEX.
Your blatant disregard for your customers and your pocket lining take priority and I will not be a part of it.
I'm not even a An American Express Customer! But I know why they're not excepted by a lot of merchants just like Discover everywhere! Because they're ripping people off!

Stay away from amex. They just told me that all my card features (including using miles for flights) were blocked if i do not male the current payments. This was a lie. Amex went to lying to its customers for payments. Stay away from this company.
American Express is simply not worth it. I could write out a long story as why they don't care about customers and how in the end you will lose doing business with them. The bottom line is that Amex is big company and they mare only out for themselves and profit.
I was emailed a bonus offer for 90,000 skymiles after opening a delta platinum credit card. I was originally sent this email on 9/23/21 with an expiration date on 11/10/21. I was sent this email 5 times over those 2 months. I finally applied on 10/6/21 specifically for the 90,000 skymiles. I was only given 50. I am upset that I have spent almost $20,000 on this card (paid off on time) and was not honored the correct bonus offer. I called 3 times over 1 month to finay be told they can't do anything about the mistake. I am extremely unhappy with my decision to open an American express card.
I made the horrible decision to trust American Express with my business. I applied for a business credit card, and was approved. Little did I know I would regret starting the relationship with American Express. Several months after obtaining the business credit card my credit limit decreased. I did not have a balance on the account, nor did I have any late payments. A few months after that I utilized the business card, and made an overpayment. American Express owed me for the overpayment that caused my available balance to be less than the amount paid on the account. I lost my card and had to order a new card. American Express claimed they sent the new card, however, I never received the new card to my address. I proceeded to order another card since the card never came, however, the next card never came. The entire time I was waiting for the card I received billing statements, and other correspondence from American Express, however, I never received the card they claimed they delivered. I also ordered a gift card from American Express by using my rewards points. They claimed they sent the gift card, however, I never received the gift card either. I no longer had the 5,000 membership rewards points, nor did I receive the gift card. I was never reimbursed the used rewards points, nor did I receive the purchased gift card. After several months I still never received the overpayment amount that was due to me. I never received a replacement business card. I never received the gift card, nor my rewards points. Every time I call, American Express makes an excuse. They have horrible customer service. Do not trust this company with your business banking.
I was offered 90,000 bonus miles for the Delta SkyMiles AMEX Platinum Card at the Sunport airport in September 2021, although I have the Delta SkyMiles blue card.
I got approved and received the card. I spent the required $3,000 in three months, paid the associated membership fee of $250, but I have not received the 90,000 bonus points.
Today, I contacted American Express to receive the evasive reply, "you are not eligible because it is an initial offer."
I believe this could be happening to more people.

It's honestly just a $#*!ty card. You cannot Venmo with it. You cannot cash app with it. You cannot Zelle with it. You cannot PayPal, circlepay, or buy crypto with it. The only thing You can do with this card is in person purchases and $#*! of that nature. I've been trying to get 1000 dollars off of this card using the cash advance system for 2 weeks. The customer service representatives are professional and nice but they are about as helpful as a hernia. If you need a card to pay for random expenses then yeah maybe this is an ok option for that. But if you would like a card to do more than there bear minimum please save your future self some headaches and consider a different credit provider than these federally backed loan sharks. It would honestly be easier to remove the stink from a hunk of horse $#*! than it would be to remove your cash from this card.
After I paid off more than 9,000$ they keep sending me due balance to pay after I paid them every single penny and have the balance in zero if I would ignore the letter thinking I paid off everything my credit would get ruined don't feel welcome as a customer I will never going to use this credit card again
I received 1% cash back, contacted service desk several times, they confirmed per policy Meijers is part of the 6% category and will be honored as such. "please wait 6 weeks for the change to take place and receive the cashback $"
Now, 4 weeks later, they claim, after me asking where my money is, that they will not honor Meijers for the 6% anymore!
I signed up for the Amex Hilton card, exceeded the offer spend thresholds and then American Express say that I'm not eligible for the promotion because I already have an Amex gold card. Read thier small print and see how many tones "at our discretion" comes up. Such a scam.

During a period of time I received email messages from the Amsterdam office Netherlands.
I have let them know I don't use email for financial purpose and pay my amex bills soon as I received and checked as per hard copy.
Bills are not always correct, many times they try to charge you for payments already done.
When you contact them (by phone through the helpdesk) you have to be very patient.
Employees are very unfriendly without any knowledge, even head of the bookkeeping department.
Now they send me a invoice with a fine for bills already paid.
Other issue, when traveling a lot you find out amex are very low in popularity by store, hotels and gasstations.
Time to say goodbye too a very poor company.
I won't use American Express again. They waived the $29 late fee, but not the $100 interest fee. This was even after I had paid the bill in full and setup autopay a 2nd time.
Do not get fooled by their intro offer of 90,000 miles. They do not honor it. I spent months asking about my miles credit. The first 3 agents said, "It will be applied automatically in another few months." I kept calling. 2 new agents said that the criteria were not met. Then, they checked my statements and agreed that it was. Still no credit. Finally, I tried again today (many months later and many calls later) to have them tell me that they consider any transaction that isn't a direct card swipe for a purchase to be a "person to person" transaction and won't include it. For ex, my hair salon only does Venmo transaction as they don't have a card reader, doesn't count. It isn't written anywhere that it doesn't, but they will say it doesn't to avoid honoring the offer. It is a scam. Don't do it.
American Express does not take care of their customers needs. My company has been in business for over 30 years and we have been with AMEX for a large portion of that time. We have never missed or made a late payment and furthermore pay in full each month. During the pandemic our revenue dipped as did everyone's. They dropped my credit limit from $300K to $38K severely stifling my cash flow. After talking with them and proving to them that I had a renewed line of credit, a $4.2M dollar bond in place, and several signed large contracts, they wouldn't budge. I am forced to find other options. AMEX doesn't care about my business nor do they care about the years of loyalty that I have given to them. Do not trust them. They do not have your back.
We had been using American Express cards exclusively. We stopped using Discover, Visa and MasterCard and only used AE.
Now I see where AE decided to risk half their business with going WOKE. They are forcing their hard working employees to learn to be ashamed of their white privileges.

We have reverted back to using Discover and Visa. AE is down the toilet in pieces.
I advise anyone wanting to use this card to rent a hotel with it. DONT DO IT! They have put a hold of an additional $75 on my account and won't release it for 30 days. They kept telling me if I got the merchant to send in a merchant release them it would be released and I found out today that it still won't be released until 30 days is up. American Express has lost the American "way". Poor customer service and you have to tell them every I'D document and info there is on yourself before they can tell you that there's nothing they can do. I've never been able to call them and be able to settle any issue I have with them. I have a question American Express... why don't you hire Americans to answer your phones?
