The person who said All Poetry is "evil" because they promote homosexual poetry is a very, very, mentally disturbed person.
There is an evil website called allpoetry.com
It promotes homosexual poets. It encourages explicit homosexual poetry. It is sickening.
It also encourages demon worship, occult practices, pornography and other perversions.
It claims to be a site for poets to exhibit their works.
But in reality it is promoted by those who hate God.
It has moderators who are against Christ.
These moderators keep a watch on the members of their site to see if anyone
Is 'rocking the boat' (or causing what they call 'civil unrest' in the 'community').
The problem is that sincere Christians who happen to join that 'community' cannot
Help but protest at the evil that is going on there.
There are, of course, other 'christians' who are so stupid and shallow as
To close their eyes to the perversions practiced on that site.
But if you happen to protest, then you are banned.
No Christian worth his or her salt should be on that site.
There are other poetry sites you can wish to join, but never All Poetry.
It is one of the most evil, devilish sites on the Internet.
Any Christian found on that site is under a curse from God.
This is my sincere warning to Christians to spread the word
That they should stop associating with websites that promote evil and
Perversions such as homosexuality, pornography and demon worship.
[Note: Mr Kevin, from his response will show you that he is totally anti-Christian. He says he supports all types of sexual orientations; I suppose that includes bestiality, scatology, child molestation and other types of 'sexual orientations'. This evil Fagin presides over a truly demonic site. I warn Christians again: Beware of AllPoetry! It is one of the most evil sites on the Internet!]
I've been on this site since i think 06, i erased 300 poems from my account, but this site is great. I have had disagreements, but listened to what was being said, and with patients i was taught how to write in form and meter.
You get out of it what you put into it. There are exceptionally gifted teachers who challenge and help othets improve if they want to.
There are also thinned skinned people who don't understand when it comes to an opinion on their work. I find that there are more helpful people than non on this site.
I have had a great experience here, the groups are a joy to be in.
In my experience, through seeing many upgrades kids are very well protected.
I believe that though there may be problematic people from time to time, you may discover its a very small percent, as this site is structured as a learning environment which is beneficial to those with a desire to learn.
I am saddened by what i see as false accusations of a site with a stellar rep for handeling tough situations.
In my experience, It is a great site.
Several months ago, I joined All Poetry. Since joining, I have thoroughly enjoyed nearly every moment. Of course, there have been a couple times where I felt minor frustration during site upgrades, but once adjusted to it, the upgrades have improved the experience.
The people on the site, for the most part are really amazing. If you take the time to read some of the poets work you would be pleasantly surprised to say the least.
Although, as with any site, their are a few 'bad apples' it seems to me that Kevin cares what is going on and does his best to operate a 'safe place' to express yourself.
I do believe that if you don't have anything nice to say (or at least, constructive) then maybe you should just keep your mouth shut and move on; obviously, not everyone agrees with the theory.
I have learned so much, and feel that I have grown as a poet in the months since I joined. All Poetry offer great courses as well as a variety of contests... You can join groups and make new friends... I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone who needs a creative outlet. *****I added this because I saw a post below that claims Kevin, the owner of All Poetry is bribing people to come on here and give a positive review. That is absolutely NOT true. My review is my own thoughts and words and I received NOTHING for posting it. It is a shame that so many trouble makers are trying to ruin the reputation of a fine place to write poetry. I could not just ignore the comment*****
The poetry that you can read from other people like yourself is so amazing. The site is so full of kind people who just want to encourage you and want to give you kind constructive criticism. The admins on the site are always very helpful and i just love the way the site is laid out!
I've been a member there since Nov of 2014,
I've been writing poetry for most of my life. Since I was 14 Except for one poem in 4th grade.
I found my writing before AP was in one direction or frame of mind. But I've found my muse has opened up to new styles and flows or words. I enjoy the word prompts mostly. But enjoy the other contests as well.
I've found a lot of help and nice people there. Though some trouble as well
I don't appreciate it when people give medals for my poetry but then are able to take them back and give them to someone else. As I had that happen a few times. I spoke with some of my friends on there and they said that wasn't fair. And they wouldn't have admitted to their mistake or given the other person points, As she was judging someone else's contest for them and even though he asked for any style poems. She only judged a certain style. Even though there were others that were twice as good. (Not including mine) I avoid her contests and won't enter his any more as well. I don't think that should be allowed to be able to undo judging and take something away that was given. I also don't like how I can't copy and paste a section of a poem when pointing out my favorite parts when reading something after posting my own piece Yet I can when wanting to point out things I like or that I notice need improving.
Thanks for the feedback :) Contest re-judging - in the last month or so we added an additional "confirmation" screen on contest judging, so are now no longer allowing hosts to re-judge contests if they do it incorrectly. Each poet runs their own contest, so unfortunately I can't speak to them following requirements they put in, but I do know that *most* contests do a great job - it's just there are so many, that there are some less thorough hosts.
Copy+paste is enabled through all the site except the required "now make two comments" page that is for free members. We had some issues with new members spamming to get past that page and not realizing that we were paying attention.
A great way to write and get better... I have enjoyed the poems and prose of others. A wonderful idea put in place to encourage people to write and express themselves.
I first started writing on Allpoetry in 2012. I enjoyed writing and interacting with what I thought were decent people. I tried to keep my real identity secret on advice of a few who seemed safe to talk with. It was not deception, just all about safety as my subsequent experience has confirmed. I made a mistake of trusting and of course have been betrayed. What I didn't expect was to be stalked and harassed off line by these people who claim to be professionals on line - therapists, armed forces personnel, human resources, nurses, IT specialists, lecturers, journalists, and those who own publishing companies. I have been hacked twice within a year, causing considerable destruction in my personal and professional life. The site itself is a great concept and there are many creative minds. I always found the site owner helpful and responsive. Not so with the moderators who are usually friends with those who stalk. I would like the owner to stop allowing the use of multi IDs and monitor IMs carefully. Interestingly enough, I did return to AllPoetry as a male for a short time (I did tell a mod I would do this, given all the problems I had from a certain group) and had an entirely different experience, with women fawning over me in droves, but at no time did I encourage or be inappropriate, despite them being highly inappropriate ! Sadly I will never use AllPoetry again while the core psychopaths remain. These bad seeds joined around 2008 and 2009 who really do not like newbies and exercise superiority over everyone.
Given that you say you "found the site owner helpful and responsive" this seems like an unnecessarily harsh review. Monitoring user messages has a very high privacy cost (not to mention labor), so we only do it when there is a complaint. It's not possible that you were hacked "through" allpoetry, though perhaps you gave someone additional information through messages that allowed them to hack you (i. E. your password or answers to common security questions).
I'm very sorry you had experiences with people who were not who they claimed to be. It seems you also did this when pretending to be a man on the site. We do have some rules against multiple accounts, but try to only take action when complaints are made - we've found in experience that this works best to create happy users.
Thanks for the feedback, and I hope you'll reconsider and try us again sometime soon.
This site is full of cyberbullies. The mods do not take complaints seriously. It's petty and the favorites continue to rule the chatbox. Do not let your children on this site. The moderators and owner do not act upon underage sexual conversation complaints, they allow some members to break the rules, and punish those that speak out against it. I enjoy speaking with the poets, but the creepiness is just too much. Parents beware, not a place for children.
Sexual conversations aren't allowed on the site regardless of age. It sounds like you did speak with our moderators, so perhaps there was a disagreement on what happened, sorry about that. Please feel free to contact us again about it if you would like to clarify. The chatbox is not moderated, but we respond to user reports on it - did you click the "report" link next to a line to let us know about it?
Oh yes I know why he lie's to everyone so he doesn't look bad him self but to make others look bad when he copied Maya Angelo poetry word for word up on his site but listed under old poetry on ap so yes he should be charged with plagiarized work him self instead of saying others on his site is doing like CureChiari that was on his site but she died about a year or over a year ago now thanks to all the harassment from the site that's what I've been hearing on site from so many others on site then yes you learn so much on site but you do learn how to copyright others work that's it because most work on ap isn't work that belongs to you it belongs to so many others that was written so long ago in history and from child hood even when people was in school as well but still the only way to back your self is to make sure you have hard copies with your actual name and dates on them then ap can't cliam them as there's or some one else's no way no how sorry because I am a lawyer and make sure it has all this and no one can claim it as there's it doesn't matter if shows up online with a fake signature on it as there's ap or no one claim it but you as long as you have this so play it smart and before placing anything up on ap or any other sites please make sure own this have a blessed day and for ap stop bashing people and stop hating on the disabled people and saying you all don't copyrigth things because in fact Kevin watt does by the Author and poet it Maya Angelo and yes he will lie or take it down so no one will find it
Cure Chiari was a lovely woman who, near the final time in her life, reposted many of William Blake's poetry asking for feedback and improvements as if it were her own. We tried to be very gentle in informing her that this wasn't allowed, but since she has passed away, some of her family has persistently attacked us arguing that the plagiarism was not true. It was 100% true, and there was absolutely no doubt involved - one example of a poem she reposted, word for word with a different title was "The Tyger": http://allpoetry.com/The-Tyger
I know she was just confused and didn't mean to plagiarize, but we still can't allow that to happen on our website, and so her poem had to be removed. I'm terribly sorry for the frustration this caused her and her family.
I have meet some of the best people i have ever meet I have made about 30 40 friends who I Skype and talk on fb all Greta feedback and ways to help I'm 15 and love this place great time iv only had it for a month as well haha
I've been on Allpoetry for about two or three years. Most people are kind and help to improve on your writing. There have been a few agitators, but for the majority it's fine. I've had issues with people complaining about my judgement on contests and I've had rude reviews on poems.
Be careful with the role playing groups, as I've met people who get inappropriate with it. I've had a pretty good experience on the site.
I must say that I am rather shocked at some of the outrageous criticism I see here. Allpoetry is a great place to post your poetry and to receive comments. It is, in fact, a great deal of fun. Are there jerks as members? Yes, there are some, guess what, just like real life! There are also wonderful, kind and helpful folks as well, guess what, just like real life. Also, surprise, surprise, there is NO such thing as a perfect web site for poetry. And, surprise, surprise, there is NOTHING perfect in this life. Allpoetry is fine and fun. I have been a member for close to 10 years. I've had occasional, although rare problems with people, however, the ability to "ignore" and "block" them solves most issues. Yes, I have found plagiarism on the site, though rarely—it is never condoned. I would contact the poet and tell him/her that I knew they did not write that poem. If they refused to removed it I would contact the folks at AP and the offender would be removed from Allpoetry. So it IS an excellent site, not perfect, but if you are looking for perfection you are NOT going to find it on this side of death. I would encourage anyone to join the site. It is, indeed, fun.
Seems the powers that be are never satisfied with the formatting on the All Poetry site and there have been periodic changes and none for the better in my opinion!
With this latest change, which took place a couple of days ago, trophies are no longer shown next to the winning compositions on that particular poem page--Instead, now it's just circled numbers which I don't have a clue as of what they are supposed to represent!
Also, I recently donated some points to another poet and didn't get a reponse from him for acknowledgement or appreciation--I messaged him asking if he received the points I donated and he told me with this new format, he got a notice that he received points but the notice neglected to say who sent them so this poet didn't know who to thank!--
Nice--Real Nice AP---Good Thinking NOT!
Sorry you encountered bugs for a day or so after our latest update :( We have to periodically update things to keep them secure and fast for everyone. In general it's helpful to use the "contact us" link on the site, so we can fix these right away - we're usually pretty prompt about it.
I can assure you contest trophies are shown again next to winners. Points always have shown who they are from and that hasn't changed, but you could ask your friend to add a ticket if you want us to double check!
This site is full of liars who allow bullying. My request when someone sent me nasty messages because she didn't win a contest I held were ignored when I said I felt bullied by it and I was told this person had every right to do what she did. I have now brought this case to others because in the day and age cyber bullying is to be take seriously not ignored.
We only got one report from you - that she said your dislike of her poem was "bullshit". Totally rude, but not harassment. I asked several times if she'd contacted you any further, but you said that you were just upset about the original comment and that "people shouldn't be allowed to say things like that". You contacted us again requesting that she be banned 1,2, and 3 months later. We try to avoid censorship, so I tried to explain that being rude to you once wasn't harassment and that you should add her to your ignore list.
Again, I'm sorry we didn't see eye to eye on this. From your complaint here, it seems you're now saying she contacted you multiple times - if this is the case, please feel free to message me on the site with where and I'll take another look.
Yes i do know for a dam fact jack that AP does use others poetry as their own because curechiari didn't because curechiari has been dead almost a year now dumbasses her family has been on these sites posting under name not her because she is indeed dead in fact she dead and cold six feet under the cold hard ground if you would like to call a plagiarism or copyright well he'll go ahead because curechiari wasn't because the FBI on AP has seen to many people copying others work that belongs to famous writers that was used and put into there own dam words then AP has the balls to ban meggie and Listen 2 Ya and Poetic justice for a whole year without no warning of the ban or nothing at all this came shortly after curechiaris death and when her family was upset because people was saying this madness that she is or was a plagiarism well let me say up front by gosh she was because she worked the local news paper in our town and so much more and gave her newly published books out about AP and BillyJo/mussed Dee on AP site because her husband sure there out so y'all call it what you will and the truth is out and may say still there's still and FBI agent on the site of AP dummies because just waiting and printing all poetry off AP to send in to have checked make sure it actually belongs to got it!
Curechiara posted several very famous old poems (such as by William Blake), claiming they were hers, and confirming in comments that she thought they were hers. She was warned twice for this, then banned permanently. We take plagiarism very seriously at allpoetry.
I would like to add to my review below since changes haven taken place in the site since my review below. They now have links to publishers and contact people from those publishing agencies. They have a list of all the people who have been published from that site. Good luck everyone. I recommend this site highly.
"For amateurs and wanna be's. Real writers don't join places like this." I've been in ACUMEN, ENVOI, IOTA, THE JOURNAL, KRAX, ORBIS, VIZ and I'm on there. Okay it's not the Poetry Review but it's a laugh. The printed poetry world is a cesspit of snobber and backbiting where you're limited to the 40 line limit of the printed page. Frankly I've read some better poems on here than in magazines although there is also an awful lot of rubbish. With it's read two to post one rule it's actually turning the writers into the editors which seems to me to make editing less monolithic and more democratic. That said if you want cash you're better off in a literary magazine but... What the poetry world hates about sites like these is they allow authors to build a direct relationship with their audience - which, of course, puts editors out of work. Still the poetry world clings to paper at all costs (and paper publishing is expensive). The proof is in the pudding. English poetry sales drop year on years on year because it is obsessed with writing things "that will still be read in a hundred years time" - not just writing things and leaving posterity to be sorted out by the future like people did in the past.
Thanks - " I've read some better poems on here than in magazines although there is also an awful lot of rubbish"
It's exactly our goal to encourage a love of poetry by both amateurs and experts. We try with the hand-picked "spotlight" poems to bring some of the amazing stuff to the top, but there are a lot of amateurs too. In-depth critiques are encouraged to help on the path to traditional publication + improving in general. Thanks for the review!
I have been on Allpoetry for just a little over a year, and I have found that sharing my work is very enjoyable. There are some who do not use this site for its intended purpose, and technical difficulties do occur. But honestly, every website similar to this one is going to have the same sort of things, the same sort of people. The point is not to bash others, it is to share. I do wish it was monitored better, so I dearly care about this site, but my personal experience has been fair.
I have been a member of AP for over four years and really enjoy the friends I have met and the inspiration that I have gotten from the contests and groups that are there. I have doubled my writing since joining and think I have grown as a poet learning new types ad forms of poetry. Plagiarism is one thing that won't be tolerated by the site and I do *******@CureC was asked to leave because of this. I was one of the people who found her poems were written by someone else and reported it so it was quickly removed. It is a good place to display your writing and if you obey the rules there are no problems. Like everywhere else in the world there are a few trouble makers etc but they are dealt with. When you disobey the rules you have several warning before you are banded. So if someone has been banded it is because they kept disobeying the rules after warnings.

We welcome poets of all types, faiths, and sexual orientations. I think this review is a pretty clear example of hate speech, and religious intolerance is one thing we do not support. Religion should never be about hating other people.
We do have a lot of christian poets on the site that are quite happy with us :)
