As long as you can wait a week or so, Allibris book are the most environmentally useful way to buy books that you can actually own, share, make notes in, etc. The prices are generally great, though the U.S. Post Office is constantly raising the overall cost. Note: the major portion of the cost of a book is shipping, not the purchase price of the actual book.

I had the book I wanted to purchase in my cart for $25. In my efforts to login at checkout I had to reset my password. All of this might have taken 5 minutes. When I finally got back to make my purchase, the book for $25 could no longer be found and I ended up with a copy for $40. Very annoying.
