I am happy with the services offered through Alibaba. I would also like to suggest for us "as buyers" to have place where we can add our favorite suppliers and "preferred quotes from suppliers" in a separate place where we can revisit and contact the supplier again.

Alibaba, has improved significantly over what they were a few years ago. They have quite a ways to go in their communication interface. Currently there's no way to sort or group messages, makes having communication with 20 different manufacturers of different products VERY difficult. It's usable though and MUCH better than 3 years ago.
