Way too many random "topics" that get thrown your way in one session, each having absolutely nothing to do with the other. Lousy "teaching" explanations, had to try to teach myself everything. Professor was nice, (online class), he emailed me back right away but I'm a busy adult and cannot learn or retain anything by constantly having to email my professor that Aleks isn't explaining something in a meaningful way. Feeling devastated by this crazy, crap program. Oh, the best part? Aleks actually takes earned points AWAY from you if you get a proceeding problem wrong! Cause that's the way real professors grade, right? What an awful, crazy-making waste of my time. Steer clear, unless you're a math whiz.:-(

It crashes on my cromebook, like dude, create a good website! Also our teachers love it. ~Time For A Knowledge Check~ (I didn't get my 10 required topics done!) Like dude! I need help here, "Too bad an F for your weekly topics." Like dude! I am getting mad now! I can't go to the best college if i don't have A's!@#$%^%$#@! AHHHHHH! Calm down, the knowledge check is over. Sunshine and rainbows! Yee! Then you realize today is the due date of my topics!@#$%^%$#@! So improve! Make your life esaier and have knowledge checks be a chosen thing, I finished 2 topics, I think I'll do a knowledge check.

Please, I beg of you, do not use Aleks. It makes me want to throw myself in front of a train as it barrels down the train tracks. It is probably the worst site I have ever had the displeasure of going on. Every day I wake up and want to die because I know I have to do Aleks at school that day. Aleks is so falsely narcissistic with it's marketing, it acts like its some futuristic technology by teaching kids and giving them a 'learning path'. In Aleks all I do is learn what I have to do for the 3 or 4 questions, then forget it because I could care less about math. I'd rather be held at gunpoint and told to do the hardest math on this sorry decaying planet than do this joke of a website. It looks so plain and boring, I lose interest and start staring at the crumbling walls of this fossil of a school I'm forced to go to every day. Not to mention I'm tired as hell and just want to pass out, and the boring grey scale theme of Aleks makes it easy to. I hope next time I fall asleep I fall out of my chair and die. This website was probably made by a drunk college student who was 30 cents off from being able to buy Costco hot dogs so he spent the $1 on making a learning site for brain dead schools to give to their children, because it allows them to have the teachers say 3 words a day and its "Do your Aleks". They don't know anything about teaching children because all they know how to do is put in a hyperlink to Aleks on Schoology (another dumpster fire of a website). I get a question wrong and then they yell at me, forcefully show me how to do it, then give me a problem thats 10x harder than the one that I just did. I haven't ever learned anything from this website. This website is hell. In conclusion Aleks sucks and it should be shot by a 12-gauge shotgun and burnt to the ground like my will to live.

The website is terrible. They way it teaches the problems through examples sucks. It shows you the steps, but not how you're supposed to get them. It says "do this" but how and why? It teaches it totally different from the way my teachers have taught me, so I have to teach myself ALEKS' way to do the problem. I sit there for hours at a time struggling to do it their way because it totally throws what I've previously learned out the window. The tools you use in the problems also suck.

What stinks is that you have to wait for like 4 hours just to get the Knowledge check. I don't understand the point that you have to wait for 4 hours just to get the next knowledge check to come. I wish I can just do my topics than it will give me the next Knowledge check right away but since it has time I have to waste 4 hours of my life just to wait for the next knowledge check at least lower the 4 hours into like 30 to 50 mins please then I will be satisfied.

I'm in collage at NOVA. During the placement test for this program I placed half way through all of my classes homework modules. So in other words i was half way through the class. This is bad in this program because now i have to complete modules that will be on the third test from now and study for an upcoming test. So basically i'm studding the first half of my class and doing homework for the last half of my class. The reason for this is because you have a quota to do (x) modules pre week no matter the subject is. I am studding as a programmer and I could make a better soft ware than this in all respects but their grafts.

There is math, then there is ALEKS. Now you might be like "Oh! That is that one math website that my kids go on!" or, "That is what I have my math students use!" Now before you dive deeper into how good ALEKS is, STOP! Now actually consider what this is. Everyone who has used this as a student hates this. I don't know anyone who says, "Oh ALEKS is my favorite part of math class!" I have been on some really bad educational programs, but none of them compare to this. So many kids are sitting on a chair, melting thier eyes and numbing thier brains when they could instead doing that english essay! And yes, I do know that some of the blame falls on the teachers, but if ALEKS knows this, can't they make it more complatible for high school and elementary student alike? An AP class is easier than this! You spend half an hour on one problem, almost passing a much needed topic, and then... you miss the problem. A "point" on the topic is removed and you have to DO THE WHOLE THING ALL OVER AGAIN! And even worse, as a different type of problem for this topic. Then this poor student will have to spend more precious time on this, working late into the night. Finally he gets the topic done, and the result? The student learns nothing. He/she gets an A, but it is what you could call "empty". He did the work on ALEKS, but never really learned anything. The student has in the end, just wasted time and sleep. That time he needed for doing homework for other classes. That sleep needed to function properly as a growing teenager. Many times has my Mom come home, only to find me screaming and crying over the computer. To add how bad this can be, you need to be a, and no I am not kidding, a genius to figure out the explanations. Not to brag, but I am a smart person, but still it is a confusing and complex puzzle the explanations are. In the end, ALEKS is a waste of time, I would rather do my AP homework, it is unnecessarily stressful, and does not teach you anything. One thing to add, I have written what I feel about this (No, not on this website), and none of my complaints have been fixed, and that was too long ago!

If your intentions as a teacher is to sadistically watch as your students fall into hell and struggle themselves over sleepless nights pondering why ALEKS decides to change how to do the lesson mid lesson, then this is the website for you. It will teach you a completely different way than the norm, and when you think you understand the lesson it pulls out so bs factor that you were not using before. Also the mid assessments "that cant hurt you only help you" hurt you a bunch. I would 100% the lessons after about 6 hours and then take the assessment, and it would revoke all my progress and say i never did any of those lessons. Terrible website that doesnt teach you and should only be used by the devil or used as a means of torture.
