Teachers see the topics as little small lessons that will make you remember the math that will take like 5 minutes per lesson, but this is not how that works, some of the lessons were easy but all the rest you leave for the end will take forever to do, and you most likely not be able get all the lessons done that your teacher assigns because they make you do (at least for me) 10 topics a week which doesn't sound that bad but having to do lessons over and over again is the most repetitive thing in the world. And also 5 hours per knowledge check? And we have to get 3 of them a quarter. (9 weeks) And I'm not just a kid that has all zeros, I always have all A's or B's, and I still have good grades after Aleks, but math teachers act like they are the only ones that give out homework giving all this work.
I just spent 4 hours working on 1/10th of my homework for the week because unless you get 3-4 answers correct in a row it will not let you move on to the next topic. Cheating is the only way for someone to get by in this system when they are a student existing in reality with time constraints and other classes to study for
This website constantly contradicts itself, making it very hard to progress through the topics. If I could put a negative amount of stars I would, because this ALEKS is the worst math site ever. You would learn more by using CoolMath.com and playing fireboy and watergirl. Don't ever put anyone through this or they will hate you.
Aleks is very bad and no one should waste their time doing it. People have inflicted self harm and have given up on themselves. Aleks doesn't help anyone achieve the grades they want and anything else. The teacher makes us do this boring work and 18 topics per week which is cruel.

If you have never cried, felt depressed, etc. then NEVER put yourself, or anyone you love through this. I know what you are thinking if you are a parent or teacher 'just another kid who doesn't want to do work,' while half of that is true I have had strait A's for my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. Not once (up until now) have I gotten less than an A on my report card. What this website does is wrong, and just cruel. For example: if you're a teacher, and your student gets a question wrong on a test, you don't mark the previous question wrong, because they missed the other question. That is exactly what ALEKS does. What they do to a student is EXTREMELY mentally taxing. I have literally broke a school issued laptop's screen in half, because of this website, I have cried and I have inflicted self harm. I worry a metric ton about my grades, and this "learning website," seems to enjoy creating anxiety for those of us who just 'need that A in math.' What teachers normally do is give a set amount of topics to do by the end of the week, the problem with this is it robs you of your progress and makes you unsure about things you already know. I have un-learned so much, because of its wonky explanations and them counting a question wrong, because you missed one part in the multi-question question. For some students it is just too much, they quiet trying all together, they pay REAL MONEY to get just a few topics done, or they can even start hurting others as a way to vent rage. Please spare a innocent child from this suffering that models that of a factory forcing countless loads of work onto a suffering person's back.
Only hinders learning. Makes student more and more frustrated and turned off from learning. Instead of actually encouraging and accomplishing anything. I can't imagine educators especially professors ever actually tried using this from the students' perspective.

Absolutely awful. We are set down in a class in college, and the professor says "Aleks! Everything Aleks! Aleks improves grades! You can pass!" and that is it. The professor reads the score report and pulls you into the back room selectively for a lesson on the subject. Shouldn't we be lectured every single day? Aleks is an excuse to churn as many students as possible through a course to shove them out into the next money churning activity.
I am a network engineer and spend hours learning coding and taking fun and pride in my work, and now I am legitimately scared this semester that my grades will suffer from this crap.
We are living in a dystopia where professors keep children in front of the computer and rush to help when a robot tells them to. Disgusting. Pearson and other publishers are monopolies on the education system and will walk into any place that hints at the word 'education,' sit down the principal or math department, and buzzword their way into signing a deal.
For the past 2 years, i have been forced to do 30 topics and 5 hours of said website, and made my life miserable. I would pay all my life saving just to get rid of this website.
ALEKS is a poorly made, entirely encrypted, self contradicting website. It would be so much better if the explanation would not just tell you how to do the math but why you are doing that specific process.

Just a garbage site. An actual revolting piece of $#*! that limits my ability to learn in ways indescribable to mankind. Its because of ALEKS that i now know and can tie a decent noose, and that 3 mL of bleach will kill you. My parents font get it, its my only bad grade (everything else if 88+), and i'm losing my sanity. They don't understand my mental health is poor due to this and them sternly telling me to do it repeatedly like i'm choosing not to do it.
