I subscribed to adwords a week ago, when i setup my account with the keywords I chose their system said that my daily spend would be $25 based on the keywords I chose, a day after I set my account live there was a notification that my ads where not showing because of the lack of budget, so I increased the budget, then the next day the same thing, this happened everyday until my budget was WAY our of whack, then I see they whacked my credit card for over $1000, I'm furious, this is fraud, we cannot stand for this, we all need to speak up, no wonder why they are one of the biggest companies in the world, it makes me sick, they do not need operate like this. I also got to speak to someone in India who was no help what so ever. And my credit card company cant even reverse the charge or future charges because google always changes the descriptor on the billing, they know what they are doing, its sad and criminal.
I chose to use Google Ad's for my marketing and it was horrendous. I requested for my account to be canceled and all ads to be inactive. They continued to keep charging me and kept telling me that I had to pay. I refused and only paid for the month I required their services. Be very careful because they will say your ads are cancelled but still keep charging you until you bill becomes over $500.00 its a disgusting business that they run. Not to mention that all of their agents can't speak English well. Google is definitely making their money!
Stay far away from this service as if you ever want to cancel or pause the AdWords good luck! I spent countless hours on hold with India reps, they never give their email contact info or employee ID. Then they say they will cancel and leave you on hold for at least a half hour and say if you hang up it will not process. Very disappointing for such a large American companyvery surprised. I've done two chargebacks and still not cancelled.
I advertised with a service discount ad for the month of August. Come to find out that Goggle was still running the ad in October for something that expired in August. After waiting and waiting to speak with someone (who was not in this country) I was told that there would be no refund of charges. Will not advertise with them again.
TRY AND GET ASSISTANCE FROM SOMEONE IN THE US, THAT IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE. EVERY CALL I MADE ENDED UP IN INDIA. EACH REPRESENTATIVE HAD A DIFFERENT STORY AND ADVISE. NO TWO INDIVIDUALS TOLD ME THE SAME THING OR GAVE THE SAME ADVISE.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO ANNOYED AND FRUSTRATED DEALING WITH ANY COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES AS GOOGLES NON U.S. EMPLOYEES. SHAME ON GOOGLE AND THOSE AMERICANS THAT CONTINUE TO DEAL WITH COMPANIES THAT OUTSOURCE AND PUT AMERICANS OUT OF WORK. IT WOULD NOT BE SO BAD IF THESE INDIVIDUALS HAD SOME DEGREE OF EXPERTISE AND COMMON DEACENCY.

Customer rep don't know what they are talking about. Ensure u monitor your account closely. Double clicks and competitor clicks can drain ur wallet without u getting genuine customers. Should have done seo a long time ago
It is very easy to lose a lot of money very quickly if you don't do a few important things. 1. Never use the "Google Partner Network", the Google Partner Network is a group of dozens possibly hundreds maybe even thousands of so-called partner sites which will display your ad on their site. The problem with that is they are infested with webcrawler bots so never use that. Stick with the Google Search ads only. 2. Make sure you're only advertising in geographical locations which you service. 3. Monitor the keywords searched (that's what people typed in the search before seeing your ad) and if they searched for something ridiculously unrelated to your business then be sure to add those words or phrases to the Negative Keywords list so that your ad will no longer appear when those words are searched. 4. Turn off your ads when your business is not open. You can have it do this automatically with a schedule. 5. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly and if it isn't then set your ads to only appear on desktop. 6. Be sure to have a lead generation form and phone number on your landing page. Your landing page is extremely important. If you don't capture the attention of the user immediately then they will bounce out. 7. The #1 spot is actually more cost effective than lower spots because the type of people who click on the lower spots are the type who are comparing you against many of your competitors while the type of person who clicks on the #1 spot is the lazy shopper who assumes the #1 advertiser is the most trustworthy seller. In other words, you'll get a lot of hits on lower ad spots which will bounce out because they are browsing other ads too.
Absolute rip off! I have used them twice and both times they have taken money from my bank and i have seen absolutely NO RESULTS AT ALL!. DO NOT USE THESE COWBOYS!
Customer services reps are poorly trained, lack the knowledge to solve problems, and worst of all they don't understand and comprehend the English language. I have to repeat my problems 6 to 12 times and even then they give me answers that don't even pertain to my original question. Their responses are always canned from some script. Why can't Google hire Americans to service Americans who can speak and understand fluently the English language. I feel trapped and held hostage by Google as a businessman for my Internet advertising. This SUCKS!
Our experience was the same as most here but had money returned by CC company.
No ads appearing, money disappearing, bogus calls for other businesses and money taken from our account without authorisation. I reported them to Action Fraud and got a crime number. You can also dial 101 to report. I suggest anyone with a similar problem do the same as taking our money without permission is a crime in UK. We then reported them to my credit card company who refunded not only the unauthorised payments but the other payments also as the service contracted for was not received. Don't even bother complaining to Google, they told me a family member must have 'bought' something from them. Lol!
Daily budget 100 & monthy budget is 3040, i paid Rs3040, for 2 days Rs 1800 deducted, i asked customer care people, giving un related answers. If any doubts call me *******123
I tried it and was curious why I only had traffic at 2am each morning. After a couple days I knew it was some auto system doing it that way google could get paid.
My refund is pending with google for more than a month. And also the subject / product knowledge of their employees is pathetic
I have run Adwords campaigns in the past with success, but something has happened in the last couple of years or so.
First off, don't waste your time with Adwords Express. You can't pick your own keywords, you can only turn off keywords that the system has picked for you that don't apply. The problem is, the system keeps picking new keywords, but you can't turn them off before someone has clicked through and dinged your bill.
I ran a campaign for a motorcycle repair shop using regular Adwords. I limited the ad hours to when the shop was open, limited the ad display to the city and immediately surrounding areas, and did a call only and search only campaign. The keywords were very specific - "Harley Repair," "Harley Service." The daily budget was set at $30.
No matter what, by the end of the month, Google had figured out how to bill us to the maximum of our budget. We did not get that many calls either, but in a city of half a million people, we were billed for that many click throughs. Something is wrong now with Adwords and how their algorithm works now.
Adwords should really be investigated for fraud. STAY FAR AWAY!
Horrible customer service, with no support whatsoever! As soon as I signed up, someone like a middleman called, trying to convince me that unless I spend a ton of money (way over my budget of $300 per month), I will not see any support or results. I have come to believe him now! Clicks can cost anything! In three months, we got only 50 clicks on our website based on their report. We have no evidence that it even happened. Not even one call originated from them. This is while other platforms have been working much better. Each click seems to have cost us about $4, with total loss of close to $200 bucks! Frustrating. Feel like I have been duped and ripped off. Just cancelled the ad, and don't plan to ever go back.
Very disappointing! Never ever reach out to their support. I was told that I am told that I can expect my refund after a month,... it's more than a month now and I still have not received my money so I reach out to their support again. I was told to contact my bank and provide the date and amount. I asked them to give me the transaction detail of the refund as this is needed by the bank and the refused to give any. How am I going to go to the bank and tell them to check if I received such amount if I cannot provide them any transaction details and how will the bank check it with this info? Such stupidity from google support, knows no bound!
Disgusting treatment of small business owners! Offshore customer service that you can understand nor can they understand you, its like talking to a machine! They will steal and rip you off. On their site it says I have recieved over 100 calls, yet my phone has no rung once. $1000 on false adverts, they will have to take me to court if they want to see that $1000
Google AdWords account help and support is very poor. Most of the time I talk with people who do not know the answers to my questions, have to look them up while I hold on the phone, always an hour call. I suggest not using adwords.
Been a Google Adword user for the past 14 years when nobody knew what Adwords were. About 6 months ago our mobile phone would ring looking for Barber shop, restaurant, Walmart, amd many more radon place. They would all say they would Google these place and hit the phone number thinking they were calling these businesses. These calls would go to our phones, 2, 3, 4 a day talking to these strangers. Besides being changed everyday for these call that had no relevant to our business. Talked to Google 6 months age about this problem and they kind of blew it off, so about 2 motns ago we stopped using Adwords. Once we did that, the calls stopped. This morning I decided to use one key word on Google and within a few hours the calls started to come, one for a restaurant and one for a barber shop. Talked to Google again and they have no answers of why it is happening, but sure will take your money. Yu would think a company this size could find the answer.
Google adwords might be great for some however it's an expensive waste of money and time, we've spent £1000's and days / weeks / months trying to get the best out of it, but still at the end of the day the budget gets drained and conversion rate just doesn't cut it, we reverted to manual cpc because google's automated methods drain money even quicker, If you are willing to try then be prepared to lose money because unless you have high profit margins it just doesn't work. Never been more frustrated than using google shopping, I might as well gone to the bank drew out a few thousand and chucked it down the drain
Answer: Google is a very dangerous company, it has far to much power and governments around the world should be protecting their citizens from it. Google ads are taking £150 every month from a disabled persons personal bank account, despite being asked to stop as there has nether been an authorization for such payments, they have been given bank statements, end to end id codes and yet they continue to take money. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL DEALING WIT H THIS DIRTY COMPANY.
