Academy Sports should have never sold an item they didn't have in stock. What a poor business model! When the baseball bat wasn't shipped I called 2 weeks later and Academy stated it had been sold while not being in stock - even though the website clearly showed the bat as being in stock. During the phone call the Academy representative stated it would be shipped in 2 weeks. Of course it never was shipped. I called again in 6 weeks and asked where my bat was and the representative UNBELIEVABLY stated that the order had been cancelled right after the first phone call, even though at the time the customer service representative told me it would be shipped in 2 weeks. I never got a notice that the item was cancelled. The Academy representative stated that Wilson was supposed to have emailed the cancel notice. BUT, I bought from Academy, why am I looking for a Wilson email? Academy should have emailed the cancel notice. All the while I could have bought the bat from other sellers at the same cost. The worst customer service ever! Please take your business elsewhere. I will never buy from Academy Sports again and suggest you don't either!

Tried to buy snow pants as Meyerland store said they had them on Westheimer and Hwy 6. Clerk in the department very nice lady searched all over. (I ride my bicycle when it is 14 degrees out and need these pants,) Oh well bought some new Khaki shorts the BCG are almost identical to the Magellan but are $5.00 more no one could explain. Cashier Byaly was very helpful told me about survey. Also bought a bike lamp I am charging now, he recommended credit card which I had but their service sucks they are an embarrassment to your company.

While shopping in Smyrna Tn store we were waited on by a very rude man in sporting goods. My family have spent a bunch of money with Academy, even buying gift cards for family and friends. I will never walk in another store this company has,or spend one dime. Never again

On site, I saw 9 shoes of the make and style I wanted. Drove to store on 59 feeder between Shepard and Kirby. The shoe I want had none in stock. I asked for help. I was told due to short staffing, it would take time to get someone to help me. I waited almost 15 minutes with no assistance. This is not the first time I did not receive ANY assistance at this store. So long Academy! You have screwed me for the last time. You folks do not deserve to be in business! Hello $#*! I would never shop here again I place my order at 3/330 got hung on twice when I called about my order I had to get out of character in order to get my order after 8 at night the customer service in footwear was horrible and if they know delivery is not with in two hours of your order they need to remove it off of the website

Had a dumb kid that was disrespectful and was mocking me In front of a lifeless manager and the manager Luis pretended not to see him. He ended up denying my sale and was laughing about it. When I spoke to the Manger she said he has every right to deny my sale if his not comfortable with me. I'm like what? He disrespected me but I get denied a sale? Really? Very un professional kids work there and get away with everything. I will never shop there again we purchased our weapons from capella instead. Really bad customer service you get ignored and they are as rude as hell.

One of the worst customer service experiences ever! I made an online order, and as soon as I hit submit I realized it was the wrong size. I immediately contacted Academy customer service, and they said I could not modify the order. All they had to do was change the Nike shirt size from medium to large. I explained that this is a Christmas gift, and I wouldn't have the time to do an exchange before Christmas. The customer service agent stated, "I can't help you because you ordered the ordered the wrong size. It's your fault." (Literally, those are the exact words she used.) And then she hung up the phone.

I recently order a bowflex dumbbell from academy sports which is turning out be a big mistake. I order the same thing from Walmart and got it within 2 days. Should have order 2 from Walmart but didn't When I went back they had switch vendors which didn't have good reviews had so I went to academy sports and plus they had them at a good price. So here is the whole complain about all of this. I live 6 hours from where they shipped them out from. When I got it from Walmart I got it through FedEx and got it within 2 days. Where as academy sports again I was supposed to get it within 2 days that was Wed when I ordered it. Niw it sat and according to FedEx it won't be delivered until mon. Plus with Walmart it was shipped for free academy sports charge me almost 61 dam dollars to shipped it. When I called there so call customers service and spoke to a joke of a supervisor they claimed it was on time bull$#*!. They never offered to reimburse me for shipping or anything. I think they totally suck. With Walmart got it faster and no free shipping. Compared to 5 $#*!ing days and 61.00 for shipping. I wont buy or will tell anyone to buy anything from them again.

Hello today I'm trying to pick 2 m4 rifles we purchased on palmetto state armory online this people on Conyer was really unprofessional and nací yes nacis tooo nacis I'm ready with my lawyer to sue the company and let to know the people this company is pro comunista and we do not deserve and we don't want this company working here on Georgia

Visited the Academy Sports and Outdoor store in Florence SC on the 25th of November. As I walked down the aisles towards the guns and ammo section, I was greeted by no less than 3 employees. I was neither greeted nor asked if I could use any help. It was quite apparent, that neither of the workers were friendly and gave the impression I was intruding on their space (they were putting up stock). I picked up a bottle of gun cleaner and proceeded to the front counter. I was second in line. The couple in front of me had quite a large cart of items and requested to purchase a grill. The cashier was requesting assistance via phone with some unknown source regarding the grill purchase. Meanwhile, the line grew to about 12 people. Several employees walked by and not one offered to open another register or render assistance to the cashier who was in need of help. After about 10 minutes, I left the line and put the item back on the shelf and left. This was the second time I have experienced this kind of nonsense at this store. I live about 2 hours away and have always liked to stop by to see if there any deals. Never again will I visit or purchase from this establishment. It's obvious this place is run ineffectively.

I know I ordered a few days before Black Friday but every other store that carries Nike did not have hardly a sale for the holidays, this store came in clutch, I come from family who didn't grow up having cash like that and this is specifically what my baby brother wanted for his gift, what I'd consider a deal! Package came quick and didn't have a funky smell (which I've had issues with in the past) correct sizing, color, etc. Have never purchased from here before but they'll certainly be my go to for next holidays! I know a lot of people only come online to write a review to complain, but people and business need praise when they do you good too! Thank you all for everything you do, I love my stuff!

Black Friday went to Spartanburg academy sports.lots of items on sale. 50% sneakers. Bogo free sweet pants. 30% shorts. Get to register. Not one item at sales price nor the beyond get one free. I questioned. How is this possible. Joey so called $#*! wipe had to manually give me sales prices. I asked what about people ahead of ne and behind me. Are they aware of this. Hd got angry and pretty much rushed me outta of the score. It's like I exposed their scam. Not one item showed and sale price or anything. Fraud. They no what's up. I was wisked away so fast. I felt inti.dated by the manager and I was embarrassed.

Academy Sports had a Remington 64 gun safe advertised on their Black Friday sale for that day only. We were there when it opened that morning and they did not have one of the advertised safes in the store. They will not order one and honor the price. They just say unfortunately we are unable to honor our advertisement even tho they did not have a single one to sell. This is totally unacceptable and I will not support a business that operates like this!

They say they have the item you want is in stock. Then they say oops! We're a gun store but, somehow the exact item you wanted suddenly must have been stolen. It was the st. Peters location and it was the day shift staff.

First time and last time purchasing from this store EVER! I ordered some white shoes online. Once I FINALLY received them they were DIRTY. The soles were cream and had smudges all around the soles on both shoes. The customer service lady was very nice, professional and apologetic about the situation but she wasn't able to do much due to the company policy. DON'T WASTE YOUR EFFORT, TIME AND MONEY ON THIS STORE. If I could give 0 stars I would!

I use to love going into acadamey but now it is bs. No prices on fishing gear. The poles are noted up. Get new line! They are unhelpful when asked for a price. They act like it's your fault. Very useless for fishing. Pay extra or go to a good place that will help you. I use to love academy but not if you need help or want anything good

During a recent visit to academy we found only one cart. My wife is handicapped and she needed shoes. Academy's philosophy is "We don't care." They made it plain that they had one cart and that they didn't care if my wife got to shop for shoes or not.

I placed a order 8-20-22 today is 8-23-22 my order still hasn't shipped. Pretty sorry shipping when in there advertisement is says Fast shipping, Bull $#*!. I bet I don't order nothing else from this suck $#*! place.

This store is now downgraded below Walmart the checkout system sucks and to return something is the worst I have ever seen, and they have the worst customer service the cashier acted like I stole the items that I was trying to return Academy Sports + Outdoors SUCKS
