I purchased a "hard cover" copy, which was clearly stated on the description page. After purchasing the book, all the details, like it being a first-edition copy and that it was a hard cover did not appear on offered receipt.

What I received after waiting in the mail for over a week was a soft cover version. Completely disappointed. And, I feel that Abebooks.com does not even attempt to provide honest service to their customers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Ordered a book nearly a month ago from "Irish booksellers". Needed it urgently for coursework & it's still not here yet about a month later. Save your money & go to a more trusted site.

This outfit is unreliable and crooked. I have been seeking a refund for several weeks for a nonshipment. I've made multiple attempts and all I get is runaround. Save your money... go elsewhere. If I could give no stars, I would.

I issued an order last September and my credit card was charged in the same month.
ETD is 15th November and I haven't receive the book yet.
I made several responses as I didn't receive my order in time. But there were no constructive advises. Just throw my feedback back and forth without solving my problem.

Ordered a book. Got confirmation only to get ordered canceled. Ordered same book from another seller on Abe Books. Got confirmation and again order was canceled. Strange thing second canceled order the seller still had 9 books listed for sale for the same price. Just checked before this review and the seller still had 8 books the same price for sale. Must be collecting payment information. Only answer I received was a genetic reply. Thanks AbeBooks for No Customer Support

Dont buy books here. They take your money and dont send you your paid for books. Total rip off! I paid $101.00 for 6 volumes and recieved one volume. Dont use this company.

In efforts to avoid using AMAZON, i have been ordering books from smaller shops.
Not the case with AbeBooks and the 3rd party sellers who do not have customer support. I ordered a new book but the previous order of 4 books was added by mistake. I began cancelling the books seconds after the order confirmation BUT
The books are on their way after 20 emails trying to stop the shipment.

I can't speak on behalf of Abe regarding purchasing books, as I've never ordered anything from them, however I did recently place an order with them to sell my old textbooks, and having never done so before, I was hesitant especially after reading so many bad reviews. I don't normally take time to write reviews, but in this case I felt the need to because out of three companies (Abe, eCampus, sellbackyourbook.com) I placed sell back orders with, all of which I shipped out and placed on the same day, Abe was by far the best in terms of keeping me updated throughout the entire process, the promptness of shipping and processing, and issuing payment in a timely manner. I placed my order and shipped out my books on March 28,2018 and I received my payment April 9,2018, which is great as far as I'm concerned! The check is issued through textbookrush.com. If in the future I have textbooks to sell, I would definitely go through Abe again based on my experience with this transaction.

I order many books usually through Amazon - I will say it's companies like ABE books that makes Amazon rich & sucessful! Kudos to you Amazon - you have all my future business. On March 19th 2018 I ordered a book - 22$ for a 8 week class. It's been 20 days and I keep getting tracking text that say " it's arrived a facilities UPS around the country" LMFAO... my book is a world traveler... it was suppose to be here in 3-5 days - I paid for shipping too... I'm an idiot to ever trust anyone but Amazon who sticks by there word - It is not even the money it's the fact & aggravation - I got a message from the seller a week ago " it's on its way PLEASE WAIT" what crap - so if I could give a negative -100 score to ABEbooks which hadn't contacted me - that score wouldn't be low enough

If I could give them less than a star then I would. I bought a fairly expensive textbook which they sent to the wrong address. I was not aware of this till I asked for my actual tracking number since the one they gave me was bad. Once I asked for a refund they said that they couldn't give me a refund because someone signed for my package (although the person that signed for it was not me and was the resident of the home they send my paid textbook too). Before that, they said I should "ask my family about my package" because I'm assuming they thought that someone in my family took it. Once I sent them a photo of my correct tracking info showing someone not me signing for it and it arriving at the wrong house their wonderful advice was to "contact the people that signed for it". I should not have to be knocking on a complete strangers door asking for my package. It is completely unacceptable and so unprofessional. They are still refusing to give me a refund

I chose this bookseller because of the advertised 4-6 day shipping speed, which was the best I could find for a particular title I needed for grad school. I wish I had read the reviews first - not only did my book not arrive, but now they won't give me back my money. I will go with Amazon from here on out.

Slow shipping

Terribly slow shipping. I paid extra for priority shipping but did not recieve. I ordered the book on 3/1, they printed a shipping label on 3/2, sat on the product for 4 day before delivering to the post office on 3/6. Today is 3/11 and I still have not received the book... guessing they did not send priority as I had paid. I have requested a refund for the upgraded shipping... no response. Next stop... credit card company. Buy elsewhere if you can

I have been blacklisted from this company, because I didn't like their product. Then they had me blacklisted from other companies. Would you put a sticker on a Mickey Mantle card? I think not. Little does this company know, I have over 400 of the mags they were trying to sell me. Guess what, AMAZON BABY. THIS COMPANY BLOWS

Horrible Company!

Don't BOTHER selling your textbooks back to this company! They will give you an online quote and once your book arrives, tell you that they cannot purchase the textbook due to 'too many filled in answers on a number of pages." This was complete and utter bull$#*! as the book I shipped was essentially brand new and I NEVER wrote in the book or circled answers or highlighted anything. This company is a complete SCAM! ZERO STARS IN MY BOOK!

I wish I didn't have to give them one star. I notice practically everyone is complaining about them about the same thing. No delivery, no tracking number, no responses. Finally have to get a refund from the credit card company.

I ordered a book from them because it wasn't on Amazon and the book was required for a course that started immediately. It never arrived, and it probably was never shipped. I didn't know when I ordered it that they do not ship with tracking numbers. Demands to show me proof that the book was shipped as they kept claiming were met with polite non-responding responses in form-letter fashion, with the fake sincerity saying how important it was to them to respond in a timely fashion -- so how hard is it to look up a tracking number?

I asked for a refund after three weeks of waiting and their promising the shipment would take 4-6 days, but they insisted in making me wait until the last possible deadline. I could not confirm that they had the book or had shipped the book or what delivery time they intended to meet or who they had shipped it with.

I checked on the customer reviews for this store and found there were scores of people having the same problem that finally had to make a claim for a refund to their credit cards. I finally got the charge reversed on my credit card. I pity those that ordered it some other way than by credit card since they were trying to make me "apply" for a refund on their web site. Nuts to that.

Recommend not doing business with these guys. Think it might be a scam, taking orders, collecting money and then banking other people's money for a while until they get it back.

Super slow shipping

The first time I ordered a book from them, it took more than 2 weeks for a shipment within NJ state.
The second time, it took a whole 3 weeks for me to receive the book.
When I requested for return because it was too late, the seller canceled my return request immediately. I do not understand how the seller could cancel the request without out communicating with the buyer.
There will be no third order from me.

Don't Go There
January 26, 2018

Abe's will take your money, assign a USPS pre-shipment tracking # to your order, send you an email saying that your item has shipped when it has not and then forget about you. If you are lucky, you might get your order in a month or so. Until then, your order will linger in pre-shipment HELL with no option to cancel or be refunded.
