AAA Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is increasingly marred by negative customer experiences, particularly regarding delays in roadside assistance and inadequate support during emergencies. Many long-term members express frustration over service failures, including unresponsive technicians and unfulfilled warranty claims. Despite some positive feedback highlighting reliable service in the past, the trend indicates a significant decline in customer satisfaction, with numerous individuals contemplating membership cancellation. The overarching sentiment suggests a disconnect between customer expectations and the actual service provided, prompting a need for the company to enhance its communication and accountability measures.

We called AAA at 1pm to fix a flat. Its 8PM. We called several times; each time being told someone was on the way.

Our first time using the coverage and will be canceling. TOTAL waste of money!

AAA canceled my membership for using the number of services that I pay for and that they offer.
They advertise you have certain number of services to use on the year, what they dont tell you is --if they do is on small letters you don't pay attention to the warning-- you are not allowed to use those services, IF YOU actually use them, your membership WILL BE CANCELED.
This is what happened to me. I've been a member wit AAA for 15 yrs. There were many years where I did not use their services. BUT my last yr I started having problems with my car and I used my limit of services. The following year my membership renew automatically like every year, they took my money, but when I needed to use it, they tell me I they had canceled my membership b/c I was a "high risk" member for using the services I was entitled for. I had to request my refund.
I dont see them refunding my money for the years I did not use their service!
You would think that they know the insurance bussiness and the risk, but they don't want customer that may actually incur in costs, they're only looking for customer that keep paying for a service without using it.

In June 2022 my truck would not start. I called AAA and could not get a live voice. In a hurry, I called my insurance carrier who sent someone out to jump start it. They couldn't start it so towed it to Decatur TX for Chevy dealer to get it going. Allstate paid for the attempted jump start but not the $180 tow. I paid it and called AAA. The agent said, no worries they will pay $25 hook up and $8 per mile or $161. So I called in and made a claim. Six weeks later they only paid $71.50. No appeal. They said u have to use AAA or only get less than half of the claim. I cancelled them. $2000 in premiums over all those years to be treated like dirt.

I've had AAA auto insurance for 6 years now, and moved to Arkansas recently. Called today to update my information and found out they gave me the wrong membership number and when trying to click on my info someone else's name and info came up. So apparently if I had tried to use the service I would have been refused and I was paying for someone else's membership for 6 years? When asked about it the woman laughed it off and wouldn't give me a straight answer. The membership is over $50 a year, so I'm beyond upset with AAA right now, how long would I have gone paying for service I wasn't getting if I hadn't called?

STAY AWAY
June 5, 2022

Ram's roadside club services llc are thieves - incredible that AAA leaves members in the hands of these thieves - first of all, even number given by AAA for Ram's services is not a working number! - on reaching back to AAA customer service to report missing wheel lock key after flat tire service call by William Sanchez from Ram Roadside club service on behalf of AAA, AAA agent 'Joseline' says - we will respond in 7-10 days - basically roadside assistance we charge you for means we will serve you in the hour of need in 7-10 days! I explained to her that contact number AAA gave me for RAM roadside Club service, *******752 is not a valid telephone number, she simply says that's the number AAA has on file and she cannot do anything if this number is not a valid number! I was shocked by her response, Here I am relying on AAA roadside help (10 years member) - & I don't have a way to put back my tire on Suv as wheel key with which Ram club opened flat tire to replace with spare tire is missing, also I have no way to reach back to Ram club service, and AAA is saying, we will get back to you in 7-10 days! It is the worst experience I ever faced in any customer service. Josephine from AAA was first not even interested to pass me to supervisor, atleast, now I have reached to Kimberly, a supervisor, who is handling the matter, still not sure what the outcome will be. I certainly will want to alert everyone around for Raam roadside club service mess and AAA experience.

Rethink ever using AAA
May 15, 2022

Alyssa Watkins agent with AAA does not return your call when you have a problem. I was left stranded in my motor home along a busy highway for over 17 hours with absolutely NO help from AAA. I have 3 vehicles and my home all with AAA. Roadside assistance is not nationwide as they claim. I was 100 miles from Missouri border and had a breakdown in my rv. If it weren't for a friend bringing me parts I would still be stranded. AAA was NO help with getting towed. I even contacted my agent and Alyssa Watkins has NEVER YET returned my call. RETHINK if you are considering using AAA. They are great at taking your money but don't provide the service.

I've been a dues paying member for 30 years. When i finally needed then they refused to tow my large ford f450. An f350 would have been fine, but policy excludes 450's assuming theyre all COMMERCIAL vehicles, which mine is not. So i paid $500 to the same tow company (had AAA on truck) they would have sent had i not bought the 450... wish i had my 30 years of dues back!

Car never got towed
February 7, 2022

My fiance and I have been waiting 15 hours for a tow on our car that has a flat tire. Ended up getting a ride home and the car is still where it was! Kept promising us a certain time and never picked up the car! Very poor service! I will probably never call them again unless my father is working. We where stranded in the highway until some guy with a tow truck brought us to a gas station. $#*! you AAA!

I needed assistance to get my car towed to the dealership. Upon doing so, the employee towed it incorrectly and ended up damaging the clutch. This costs me $1500 out of pocket after insurance with the rental fee and the mechanic. I have tried for THREE months now to get somebody to reimburse me, my insurance has tried multiple times to get in touch with someone and no one has been helpful. You would expect AAA to know what they are doing and not damage your vehicle, OR if they did, to assume responsibility and handle the charges. It has been so very frustrating, to AAA $1500 is pennies, for me… it's a lot of money. Somebody fix this now.

Dead Battery
November 13, 2021

The battery in my Honda Accord has gone flat three times recently. Twice, people saw me with the hood up, and came with jumper cables to get the car started and on the road. One kind helper, a woman, laughed when I said I had tried to get the AAA on the phone. She said I'd be lucky if they came in two hours, and I told her that the automated response kept asking me where I was. I had said "Springfield" and she said "I don't understand." Then the whole call faded out. Anyway, the battery failed again last night and since it's under a three-year AAA warranty, I asked for a replacement. Nothing doing: the tech said the battery was fine and that I should buy my own battery. So the only solution when I go into a store to shop is to leave the engine running -- that way I know I will get home before ten o'clock in the evening.

" Supposedly 24/7 "
July 26, 2021

They just call it 24/7 because they think putting someone on the phone line paying them probably $10 an hour helps people! I am there calling for help and the actual road assistance team doesn't even work at 6 am and I have been told to wait for 2.30 hours for them to call me... Can someone define "24/7" for me? Placing a person as a customer service provider doesnt mean anything to me if that person is not able to send help. Very bad service quality Triple A! I do not recommend this company to anybody. They do not deliver anything thats promised. NEVER make your plans according to Triple A.

Just spent 3 hours in the blazing heat waiting for a tow that was promised in 20 minutes and then another 30 minutes and then another 20 minutes etc. until I had waited 3 hours during the hottest part of the day and ended up with a formidable headache. I have been a member since 1997 and rarely ever needed their service but felt it was worth having for peace of mind. After all these years of trusting they would have my back it is disappointing to say that I was dead wrong for trusting in AAA.

Upset
March 12, 2021

At night if they don't feel like working they won't come my car was stuck blocking a gated community because they didn't believe that was a big enough problem and told me they can't find a truck that was small enough but 2 hours before they finally call me I seen a truck small enough pass by my house. Thanks for no help.

I do not use AAA when it cost $90 for a service call, so once they say, unfortunately, this is your fifth call, you will be charged $90 for this before service I decline and find alternative means. For this reason, I always ask if each service is within my membership. I was always told yes. It is within your membership. You still have 2 more calls. So you can imagine my surprise four months later when I was told that my account will be going to collections because I did not pay for a service. One of their own people said this to me "Their system glitched or was down the day of the service you should have not even been given the service if it was the fifth call". Another representative said even if we told you that you still had more free calls, we are still charging you now. What made it worse is that their system had my brother who is just an additional driver as the main driver and was sending him to collections. It is my signature on the documents. I have to pay now because my brother is on the line, but AAA no more. By the way, according to their bill, we are all still in 1920, not 2020. Fix your computers AAA

There are other companies that offer 6 - 8 calls and are way cheaper than AAA

Excellent!
November 25, 2018

Knowing I have AAA gives me peace of mind that if I ever need them, they'll be there so quickly and do their work so efficiently. The day after Thanksgiving I tried starting my car and the battery was dead. I went on the website and filled out the battery service request. Less than 30 mins later, a technician came and tested the battery. I purchased a new battery right on the spot and he installed it and took away my old battery. Took all about 10 minutes and I was back on the road. Every driver should have AAA!

Great services!
July 9, 2018

I have been a premier member with AAA since 2013. I have used them for lock-out, flat tire, dead battery, trip planning, getting discounts on room rentals, car rentals, and DMV related services. They never disappoint. They always show up as promised and perform excellent work. Im very happy with AAA.

I have been a customer of AAA since the late 1960s, or around 50+ years. In that time I have been satisfied with their service. If I go into the local office I am treated well. They are usually busy, but the waiting time is just a few minutes. The service I have received over the phone is excellent. For example a couple of months ago someone hit my wifes car while it was parked. We called in and the next day we brought it into our local repair shop where they discovered it just neededto have the area buffed out. So we were allowed to drop the claim with no points against us.
