I've been playing a Martin Dreadnought for about 23 years. As it ages, it has BIG sound, but is getting harder and harder to play. I've had the neck and string height adjusted by a pro. I've gone to light strings. Still, my 60 year old fingers feel like they're on a cheese grater when I play it for long, which means I don't play it as often as I'd like. My wife offered to get me a new guitar and I started researching. I came across Zager. "In the Year 2525," is among my favorite songs, so I was intrigued right away. Reviews were great, and with a money back guarantee, it was hard to lose. I ordered a ZAD80CE. My wife and I opened the package together. We were both stunned at how beautiful it is. As I began to play, I loved the way it felt in my hands. The action is amazingly good. I probably said, "It's so easy to play," 10 times in the first hour. Tone is nice and I know it will get deeper with age. This may be the last guitar I ever buy. I love the thought of it mellowing along with me. Customer service was outstanding. Having listened to "2525" about 200 times on a road trip with my parents in 1968, the slight connection to Mr. Zager is pretty special for me. He definitely builds a beautiful instrument and has made playing enjoyable for me, once again.

I just received this guitar in the mail. I bought it for my son. After 13 years of trying to get him to play an instrument, he asked me for guitar lessons. This guitar is GREAT. It has your dad's signature on it and it came in a Zager box. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SELLING THIS PERFECT BEGINNER GUITAR. I hate to say it, but it plays and sounds a lot like my old Guild. The case is super! Love the strings and I've never played acoustic with a more comfortable and great sounding pick (yes, picks have a sound). Can't wait for my anniversary guitar to get here.
ADVICE: This luthier is top notch. Service is the best I've ever had... period. I would order from him before he decides to retire. Sooo glad I heard of him.

I just received my ZADCE50 OM on Sunday and can't seem to put it down. I was looking to get something similar to my instructor's $1800 Martin and I found it with this guitar. It really is easier to play than my other guitar and sounds great! The neck design is thinner just like the Martin which was important to me. The bass is nice and full and the highs ring out crisp and clean. What really caught my eye was the level of craftsmanship that went into this guitar. I was a finish carpenter for 25 yrs and I am truly impressed by their finished product. The seams are flawless, the inlays are masterfully done and the finish is beautiful. I cant believe it was only $1200! Thanks so much. Kudos to both Dennis Jr. And Dennis Sr.

The whole process of selecting an instrument and purchase with Zager Guitars was straight forward, easy, and seamless. The worst thing about the entire transaction was the time it took from the moment I ordered until I was actually able to put my hands on this beautiful instrument... and that was only a few days due to transit time between Central Florida and Nebraska! This ZAD80CE plays better than I do. The construction and wood in the instrument are flawless. The Grover tuners are accurate and precise to use. The electronics are rock solid. The tone of this guitar is "grace to the ears",, and blends beautifully with the other guitarist, bass, and piano on our Worship Team. Pleased is an understatement. This guitar is a beauty in every aspect!

I have once custom Gibson, a Special Edition Martin acoustic with electronic package, and a Mahogany Martin, as well as a Taylor and a Gretch. I've been playing since I'm 16 and I'm 54. I don't play as well as I should or as bad as I think. LOL. This 900 that arrived today is the most beautiful looking and sounding guitar I have ever played and I haven't even tried the electronics yet. I'm an attorney on Long Island. I'm ready to pack up and hit the road. Seriously, the guitar case is even amazing with a humidity control reading. I had a few questions and the service is great. Blown away. And the guitar comes with a t-shirt and it's signed. I couldn't be happier.

When I ordered the ZAD900ce "OM" guitar I was admittedly apprehensive about what I would be getting. When I received the guitar it was very well protected, and it came well cushioned in a beautiful hard case. I was first very impressed with the looks of the guitar. The professionally finished combination of woods, the detailed insets and trim and the gold grover tuners have a look I have not seen shopping locally. When I first started playing the guitar I immediately fell in love with the sound and the feel of the strings on the fingerboard. I am getting back into playing the guitar after 25 years. And this is exactly the guitar I have been searching for to keep me enthused. Thanks Senior and Junior!

I never write reviews about anything, but this guitar is fantastic. I received it last week, and went to an open jam with other player who had Martins and Takamine guitars. My Zager held its own with guitars that cost 2 to three times as much. I am a poor musician and could only afford a ZAD20E Black. It is the best guitar I have ever played and I have been playing over 50 years. I know as the guitar ages the sound will only improve. I am beyond satisfied with my Zager guitar. Arnold

These are copies of my emails to Denny Zager concerning my new ZAD900CE: Hello Denny, I am enjoying my ZAD 900CE however I am having a problem. I use a flat pick sometimes and a thumb pick on other occasions. I also use two or three fingers to fingerpick either way. I have had to adjust the truss because I must be plucking the strings too hard with my fingers and the strings are slapping the lower fret of the neck. I have the action as high as I want to go.
Denny responded that my issue might be a humidity problem. He recommended that I put five damp wash cloths inside my guitar and case it for three days and check it. I did.
Here is my response: After three days of adding moisture to my guitar I removed the damp wash cloths. It plays and sounds better than it did the day it arrived to me. I was able to lower the action back to were it was and no fretting out or chiming on the bottom fret. Thanks for the lesson. I learned a lot from this and my ZAD900CE is better than ever. I can't wait to show it off to my friends. Thanks again, David

For a composer there is something wonderful about silence. Because soon that silence will be filled with things like strumming, finger picking cross picking, hammering, melodic leads and melodic backgrounds. Somewhere in all that something meaningful will be expressed.The Zager guitar takes all this to another level. I congratulate the Zager business with their top of the line service and attitude to the guitar playing community. May Mr Zager, when he walks into his shop in the morning and sees his tools and stacks of wood, continue to create masterpieces. Thank you for this life changing instrument. I am a Taylor 800 series owner for what is now over ten years and have been playing guitar for over thirty years. Until I bought this guitar my playing severely dropped due to back pain and tendonitis. Also ear strain as I am hard of hearing in one ear and deaf in the other.The ZAD900 CE is all I need in a guitar and can match or outperform anything found in a guitar store where instruments are only competing with each other and your sense of what is in a guitar. First let me say that that this is an honest and totally unsolicited review. I had made my mind up and was saving to purchase a Martin D41 when I accidentally came across the Zager website. I had never heard of Zager guitars. I watched all the videos, read all the reviews, and because I was still a little short of purchasing the D41, I said what have I got to lose? The guarantee of my money back plus shipping both ways! I purchased the Zad900d and let me tell you, I could not be happier! I had been playing the Martins at a local shop and let me tell you, This guitar out performs them all across the board! Looks and Tone to playability! If you are thinking about purchasing a quality guitar I highly recommend that you give Zager a try first! You WILL NOT be sorry! Best guitar I have ever played!
