WG has committed org. Suicide. Destroyed the best service and apps in the business overnight. Sad to see an old friend dive off a cliff for no apparent reason. Most orgs would have formed a beta test group for a new app and only launched when the new app. Was ready for prime time. Instead they blew up the beautiful, mature old app and replaced it with a piece of $#*!. Leaving thousands of paying users dumbfounded and betrayed. Completely avoidable, completely unnecessary. Stupid suicidal move which they won't walk back. Some things deserve to die. I guess WG's corporate ego chose to go down with the Titanic. The post mortem will likely reveal that the CEO is handsomely rewarded for this bold and brazen act. I'd like to feel sorry for WG but I only feel sorry that Jeff Masters did not choose someone else to shepard WG to a different future.
When I click on a webcam thumbnail, nothing happens anymore. Left click, right click, double click. Nothing. Why did you kill wundermap? Just because you can? Or what? Amazing.
Funny how when there's a week of good sunny weather the web page works fine but when there's bad weather and you need to see a forecast for the next few days or by the hour, the page doesn't work properly.
New app design is poorly designed with graphics that make no logical sense. I do not use the app to see pretty adds and confusing app design that leaves one wondering if you even considered the users desires in a weather app. Interestingly one of my devices has kept the old app and another device deployed the new app. Put them side by side and all you can do is shake your head and wonder "What are they thinking?" Why not offer two apps, the old one for people who want functionality and the new app for those that don't know the difference.
Since the acquisition of Intellicast, the transition to Wundercast has been a horrible experience!
On my (Chrome) browser, the site will often work for the first city chosen, but then when trying to select another city, the site won't properly refresh, and all of the tabs (e.g. "10-day") won't show.
The organization of the Wundercast site is far inferior to the former Intellicast site, difficult to navigate, difficult to read (the Wundercast maps are worse than the old Intellicast organization), and often fail to properly load.
Way to destroy a formerly good service (Intellicast) than many of us relied on daily!
App doesn't work 6/10 times to load actual data i want to know... i don't care that you can post a picture of a sun. Give me that actually info i came to get. Takes 5 minutes of hunting to find snow fall predictions... 10day forecast loads 1/5 times. And your wrong most of the time anyways. Can we have intellicast back? Keep your trash in California where its from!
Weather underground used to be a great site, informative and accurate. Now it just sucks. Accuracy went in the crapper.
The site now takes a long time to load due to the large number of ads. They used to show detailed astronomy info, such as the altitude of the sun at your location, and removed that. Often when I click on the 10 day forecast I just an empty white box where it should be. Unfortunately, the site is now worthless thanks to weather.com.
Never right. Terrible navigation tools. Use NOA if you want true weather and not just fake weather with millions of ads
Intellicast was a great site, informative and easy to navigate. Everything was intuitive and understandable. The former weather underground was helpful. Ever since they merged they have abandoned all that was good about either. Not intuitive at all. Some of the best previous features are missing. Trying to find what you want is all a matter of guesswork. Whoever redesigned the sight should be fired and if legally possible shot.
If you are looking for a goto website for weather and weather forecast keep looking. If you are looking for a website dedicated to pounding you with advertisements, well then you found it.
Not long ago I could nearly depend on the daily and 10 day forecasts. Daily forecasts were close enough that I could plan out my daily activities. Oh, yes they still provide a long range forecast, but not for my area. It is specific to an area that is not even close to property with different of about 1500 feet of elevation.
Lets talk about the good things still coming from wunderground.com. Yes, the ads! So many ads. Who else can put 20 ads on a webpage! Maybe they should put some of that ad revenue into updating and fixing the website.
I will miss all the great information on climate change! Oh, yes Climate Change! It was an article on Weather Underground that caused me to truly understand what they are talking about. Well, that article prompted me to do some internet searches where I learned that weather records have been recorded since 1880! The records indicate that the earths climate "average" has changed. Yes, I do believe it. Scientist also believe New York was once under ice. The point is the worlds weather has risen, wait for it, approximately 1.5 degrees fahrenheit above the "average". For the global weather believers, educate yourselves by doing some research on your own.
Good bye Weather Underground, may you rest in peace.
Oh, how about pulling the site from the net? Wait, they can't do that if no one is actually updating the site!
I run a landscape/snow company and used intellicast in a daily basis and was an awesome tool! Wunderground when lucky enough to load is total junk! If you try running on a private browser mode won't load at all. It's obvious it's only a cookie and spam site now. Looking for a new weather service.
How can you screw up a GREAT Weather Site?
Let Weather Underground take it over.
I don't need 100 characters, but review must be at least 100 characters.
Intellicast unfortunately was taken over by the weather channel (weather underground) and has ruined a perfectly good format.
Sick of trying to use weather under-grounded now. Loads way to slow, and sometimes regional views don't change for days! Same, exact view as two days ago! USELESS! Tried signing up, and logging in as well. No difference, except now they can spam up my inbox somehow. Switching to MUCH better/faster weather service. Too bad, because W. U. used to be really good in the past.
I stumbled across this some time ago for my very own subdivision and it used to be pretty accurate. Last month that changed dramatically. Now when it's really raining, they say the sun is out. Then when the radar says clear, it is raining! The worst is showing rain totals. We just had rain all day and the local tv station said 1.7" accumulation. The wunderground site says. 02... yikes! Don't know what happened but this is really useless now. If there was a negative rating, would have said that!
I have been posting my personal weather station data and using weather underground since about 2000. HOWEVER, the WeatherChannel has destroyed what once was a great site. I think the latest fall over the cliff was the notice I received.
"The Weather Underground email program is unfortunately coming to an end as of October 1,2019. You can continue receiving the world's most accurate weather forecasts, real time weather alerts and much more all while on the go. Visit wunderground.com or download the Weather Underground app on your mobile device or tablet and sign up for our weather alerts & notifications via the settings menu. Additional information can be found here."
Very disappointing in the turn in their service towards being lack luster, the website change is terrible and now the forecasts.
I had been a supporting member of Weather Underground since the beginning. But over the last several years they have become more and more difficult to use. The apps became a joke and the website is a a disaster. The failure of the FTP weather cam site and the frequent dropping of my weather data have become the final straw. I have deleted my account and disconnected my data stream.
Intellicast was my go-to site for weather for a couple of decades. Wunderground was not bad--they were the only site to have good hurricane track models. Now Intellicast with it's excellent maps, forecasts, and historical data is gone, and Wunderground is awful. It's unbelievable how badly IBM can foul things up. Epitome of FUBAR.
Can't see a weather radar summary of my region. Intellicast was so much better and easier. Weather Underground is a horrible site and whoever is responsible for taking over Intellicast should be fired!
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
