I like in southern Humboldt county and the weather forecast is very important for people in my area that are dealing with plant life. In my experience, weather underground is never correct in it's forecast. For the last 2 weeks out has consistently been 10 degrees or more under the actual temperature. This is not acceptable and for this site to consider itself a weather forecasting sure is nothing short of a hoax. Don't bother with following weather underground. Try AccuWeather or some other site that occasionally gets in the ballpark of the actual weather?
The Wundermap is really quite great as it gives you a lot of options to view outside of just the radar.
The biggest problem with Wunderground is the weather predictions are rarely accurate and fluctuate quite often making planning your day around the weather using this site difficult.
It could be worse... it could be Weather.com.
Advertising became more important than the service. Too bad, it was such a great service. Won't even properly save your locations on Wundermap - the main reason I used the service in the first place. Unfortunately, the app has followed suit and has degraded in its quality.
Good features disappeared on web site and app is a PIA to use.
Intellicast has a great interactive map with storm tracks, a surface map to locate fronts and a very good descriptive/graph forecast page.
Always WRONG when predicting thunderstorms. They just keep moving the time ahead. 1 p.m... whoops, we meant 2:30... psych! 4 p.m. Just kidding... 6 p.m. happy planning your day! Horrible terrible. Goodbye.
WeatherUnderground used to be the leader. They have removed most of their distinguishing features recently. So sad to see what has happened. Not sure they have a plan either. Recently they had almost half of their home page replaced with an ad. There is either desperation or poor leadership at work.
Again very sad. Should you have a personal weather station, I recommend you look for another place to which to send your data. I am not sure I would rely on your data to be there next month.
Been a Wunderground fan for years - great data, local sites. But sucky performance after the acquisition by Weather.com (greed, exacerbated by amateur implementation) has made it impossible to continue. Stuck around as long as I could, but can't keep rebooting the browser just because I forgot to close the Wunderground tab. Off to NOAA.
What was once a great, fast source for national & local weather with superior radar and satellite information has ceased to exist! If you want to been weened off of "AWS", Addicted to Weather Syndrome, this is your site!
I was an "ads free" subscriber for years and would have pay more to subscribe even with the ads just to have left the site as designed.
RIP weatherundergound. The star is in memory of once was.
The Weather Underground used to be the best weather site, now it is fell to the bottom. Why would you go to a site that locks your browser screen all the time when it loads. Are they that hard up for advertising money.
The wunderground site is so tied up loading advertising and junk onto the page that it takes forever to load weather details. It is so annoying that after using it for years, I'm abandoning it for the NOAA site!
It covers barely any information about cloud covers and is not good at observing data on the previous days! Mediocre! Use WeatherChannel.com
It takes forever for the site to finally load the detailed 10-day forecast. You get a circle going round while ads load all over. Sometimes the detailed 10-day forecasts doesn't load even in 5 minutes.
Otherwise I think it's a good site because it actually tells you HOW MUCH rain or snow to expect.
Just my experience over the last few years on Chrome, Windows10, Nexus 5, Pixel XL. Super frustrating. Nothing works well anymore. App crashes. Animation is super slow and buggy. Button don't respond. On and on... Feels like it went from dedicated passionate engineer team of 10+ to that poor sad soul in the basement with the red stapler. What happened? Who cares?
This used to be the only decent alternative to TWC and then TWC bought them and destroyed it. The information is never accurate and I don't just mean the obscure stuff but basic temps. They can't even figure out that the temperature of 44 degrees is WARMER NOT COOLER than yesterday's 32 degrees. Seriously? And I'm in a suburb of a major city, no where obscure. Sometimes they don't update their info for over a day. I think the only option anymore is NOAA directly.
What once was a fantastic weather site has degraded to uselessness. Well I can get the temperature but that's it. This is true for the entire state of Alaska regardless of location selected. I know it is not my computer settings because when I pick a location in another state all the information shows up on the screen. What is really worse is that the Weater Channel does not respond to emails and apparently could care less. Very disappointing!
With the technology and education our country has at its disposal it is a shame the weather cannot be successfully predicted. Instead of just coming out and saying we messed up yet again, I hear stuff like it happened because of the "warm nose". Really, do you guys make it up as you go along? You are paid to be at least close to correct, so this leads me to my ending comment. We are NO better off with the false predictions of weathermen, they get paid TOO MUCH MONEY to be consistently wrong and I am not going to listen to, close, is ok because it's uncertain weather. If this is in fact the case then a yearly salary of 25K will be sufficient for the lack of a proven track record. Weather underground, you can stay there, cut ties with the lies. Face it YOU JUST DON'T know what is going to happen. Oh, so I'm being unfair, well let me ask you this question. If I were a policeman and had to make a split second decision which ended up causing harm to someone, would everyone be jumping all over the police officer, YES. Remember he or she didn't have days to study the situation, he or she didn't have millions of dollars of equipment to suggest possible outcomes. Get off your hi horse and just let us read the Almanac. You people are a fraud... pure and simple.
If everyone gets their info from the National Hurricane Center, then why does their maps always have a different cone 20-30 miles different?
Just gets slower and slower. Finally had to switch.
Best to worst in a matter of 3 years. What a shame.
The newest changes finally did it in.
I am thankful for the site located at our local fire department. It affords real time information for my neighborhood and immediate area surrounding it. If I look at NOAA, it tells me what is going on miles away. That is fine ... if I am going miles away.
Ever since The Weather Channel purchased Weather Underground they have done nothing but ruin it. Their email and website forcasts dont even match. Ive complained several times but their support staff suck too, yes YOU William at *******@wunderground.com. This site has gone from wunder-full to wunder-if.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
