I agree with others--what a sad decision they made. If this were my business, I'd be backpedalling fast.
I, like all the others posting here am deeply disappointed in what used to be my go-to weather site. As a boater, I rely on the marine forecast as well as the forecast for the community where our boat is docked, one hour away from our home. The site is now a jumble of graphs and charts for that day, and to find 7 or 10 day forecasts is ridiculous. BRING BACK THE OLD WUNDERGROUND or you have lost me forever.
I can't pull up my station half the time and the change station does not work - keeps coming back to a default station that is miles from my home, the ten-day requires me to move from the main page instead of a simple scroll down, etc. Ditto to all the other recent posts.
Now my favorite cities list has been changed by WU. I did not initiate this action. It also won't let me go back to "my" list. They keep putting other cities and omitting my names. I've had it with this company but where else can I upload my weather station to view it online? I am so frustrated with high tech.
Everything loads slow except the ads. Please bring back the old site and dont try to fix something that wasn't broke. :(
Apparently new format changes make the app so slow it's virtually worthless. I am using Mac OS 10. 12. 6 on a new machine. No excuse. Works well on my IPhone however.
You were the best. The display with the expandable 10 day forecast was fast and easy. I suspect you have a plant from the competition designing your site. Any chance of going back?
Weather Underground used to be great. The new layout is horrible. Can't get the descriptive forecast on 10 day anymore. Site is slow now pages. Whomever designed and approved the layout should be fired. Weather Underground please read the user reviews. I've been a long time subscriber but will not be renewing when my subscription expires unless they bring back the old format.
Wunderground used to be an awesome site. A city's view contained current conditions, radar, a graph-based 10-day forecast that presented a lot of data in a very friendly way, and some other data as well. You could set it to metric or English units. I would have given site site a 5 out of 5.
In the September 2017 redesign, the graphy forecast has been replaced with regular-old text weather, a commodity I can find on a hundred other weather sites. The graph is still there, but it's a page-load away and not co-located with other data I like to see.
To add insult to injury, the units setting is remembered, but isn't respected. If you jiggle the setting, it'll switch to Celsius for the current session, but reverts to showing Fahrenheit next time you visit--even though, if you check it, it's still set to Celsius.
Reduced utility and buggy... this is not an improvement.
The most recent format change isn't the greatest. The previous one worked well, had more information on the home screen, and icons were smaller requiring less scrolling. And it's SLOW. Please fix this or give us the option of using the old site.
The new interface is crap! It's non-functional, does not display correctly and is soooooo slow. Who comes up with these hair-brained ideas to change something which was working well?
The new format stinks. If it doesn't change I'll be forced to find a different weather service after 10+ years of using Weather Underground. How about some Beta testing before dumping junk down our throats?
I've used Weather Underground as my Homepage before they even had subscriptions.
Everything I needed to know for taking my early morning walk was on the opening screen. I need to see the windchill, dew point, humidity and especially the 10 day forecast where I get to select what's important to me - cloud cover, humidity, chance of precipitation and wind speed. At a glance, I could plan activities for the next few days deciding which day is a good beach day, or boating day or just stay home day, etc. The 10 day tab doesn't even load on Firefox anymore. Also missing is the Marine Forecast link which I used to see the boating and beach conditions. I'm sure many surfers also used this link to check out the wave height and wind conditions on the water. Listen Weather Underground, BRING BACK THE OLD FORMAT.
I have been a paid subscriber for years. It would take a moron to release the new format...it doesn't work and removes the all in one features that made WU great for the past few years. I don't want tabbed browsing on my weather channel...Sorry but you lost a fan with this one folks. Best of luck.
You guys screwed up winderground so bad it is for the most part useless! Should have left it alone! You must have screwballs working for you now!
I have been a member for 12 years and have loved this site. The new format is an abomination. Half the time the 10 day will not display. Did some research and found a recommendation to check my browser to make sure something wasn't blocking the load. WTF, I have made no changes to Firefox and the old format worked just fine. Sound like somebody want's to pass the blame. Some web designer tried to get cute and screwed up a good thing. Bring back the old format.
The latest change to the format has once again made it worse. Really, why dumb it down even further. I realize a good thing doesn't last forever, but you seem hell bent on changing things for the worse and driving away the people who use it the most, the weather fans who support you. Still here today but yet, gone tomorrow.
I loved wunderground ever since I found it after getting my smartphone. I kept it on my search page at all times and could always see at a glance, a clear, concise report and forecast that always proved to be very accurate. Then recently Everything changed and I cannot make heads or tails of it! A bunch of random graphs come up with no forecast at all, even when I click the 10 day forecast link. I can see the current temp and the current day's weather, but after that it is a bunch of technical B. S! I just want to see a clear, organized forecast like it was before for the whole day, 7 and 10 day forecast options and for it to stay on the station that I choose! What the heck did you do to my wunderground? Did you ever hear, "if it ain't broke don't fix it"? You fixed/broke it good and now it is terrible! I'm glad I wasn't the only person that noticed and complained! Site managers should definitely rethink bad move in changing what was a great weather site, the best, in fact! Too bad, I guess it's my loss, I will miss it!
I've had the 10-day view WU site bookmarked on three machines for ages, for several locations, the 10-day view, and in Celsius. I've found it better and more accurate than any of the alternatives. Recently, however, I've started to get the site opening up for locations I don't want, not the 10-day view, and in Fahrenheit. It was then OK for a few days, now it seems stuck back on what I don't want. I can't get the Fahrenheit/Celsius toggle to work. Very unhappy - and completely unable to find out what has happened.
Spent several days with the "old" version and this new thing appearing at random times of day. Now apparently they've settled on this abomination. I finally figured out where to find a few things but it is a task. What frosts me the most is when my main forecast page finally loads, my PWS info shows as updated 5 to 30 minutes ago! Sorry, I just got here and need to know the conditions now! If I go to the station page it is current so I know it is communicating in real time to the site. And trying to determine what things may be like later in the day (rain, snow, sun, etc.) is nearly impossible. Seems they tried (unsuccessfully) to transpose a smartphone or tablet app to a web page. They may save a nickel but they're losing people by the bushel. It wasn't broken so why did the try to fix it?
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
