I'm all for organic, but the food still has to be edible. I stopped counting worms in the cauliflower at 5...possibly 6. The entire cauliflower was moving! Additionally, it had black mold spots all over one of the sides. Similarly, the cilantro had multiple black and slimy stems. The produce was just awful and unusable.
I was employed at Whole Foods for over five years preparing food for the case and fulfilling catering orders 2010-2016. The number one rule- Always address the customer in a respectful and helpful manner and express your pride in the diverse and carefully curated products available in a Whole Foods Store,
I shop at a location in Austin, Texas and find the offerings very generic and limited and the approach to customer service nonexistent.
The owner of Whole Foods focuses his energy and considerable wealth on space travel not even space exploration while demonstrating that he has no energy when it comes to improving the situation where we currently live. We are not moving to Mars. No composting efforts, no recycling that actually works.,. Why is Whole Foods selling much of its produce packaged in clam shells when we clearly know that it all winds up in landfill or worse, on the shores of underdeveloped countries that do not have the resources to address this issue?
Add to this situation, rusty grocery carts, surly and uninterested employees, mediocre offerings with little variety and you have a corporation that has failed its customers and most certainly, the environment.
Bought Chocolate Eruption Cake for Mother's Day. I could buy a better cake at any supermarket for half the price. Tasted awful.
Specifically went to Whole Foods to buy stew beef because I thought their meat was better than other food chains. Brought it home. Horrible, could not chew it even!
I went Whole Foods on the upper East side of Manhattan, I asked where their Passover section was only to be told they have nothing. Customer Service handed me a pamphlet and said I can order online. Really. Passover over is in two days, do you think I can order one or two desserts on line. The Upper East side has many Jewish people and it is appalling to see that Whole Foods does not care about their Jewish clientele
I purchased a pre-seasoned chicken breast cordon bleu from the fresh meat market section. The chicken was dry and lacked seasoning in the crumb crust. I expected the Swiss cheese to be melted and ooze out once the chicken was cut open. It didn't. Next time I would make a quick cordon bleu at home from scratch.
I've been shopping in this store since it was first opened. Always satisfied with everything - variety, stocked shelves, good service, never long lines to the registers - enough registers were opened, etc. Even at the difficult times of Covid lock downs, they kept up a good work. Yesterday this store looked unrecognizable - many shelves are empty or in disarray (frozen foods, etc.), only 2 (!) registers opened and this is Friday, 4 PM (!); of course, both have long lines, the section with self service registers had a moderate length line, but the entire process of self-service is rather chaotic. Customer has to play the role of cashier, because not everything has barcode to be scanned, so customer needs to do search, manually, enter the product code form the tiny labels on fruits and vegetables, etc. The prices in Whole Foods stores are high enough; isn't it suppose to include some service as well, instead of being your own cashier? Having 5 or more registers and only 2 opened is unacceptable as well as empty shelves in the middle of the weekday. Very disappointed with this particular store. Will share the experience with others.
If you want to be harassed every time you go to the Dublin Ohio store by associate and managers than this store is for you, but be warned you will be treated like a third rate citizen there, they don't want you there unless you look and act rich, some of the workers are on drugs or alcohol and will record you with their phones while you're shopping, they make you feel very uncomfortable stay away from the store in Dublin Ohio!
Utterly disgusting - from 3 separate Whole Foods locations I was sold infested salmon. I returned it, and the store manager grabbed the fish representative who was appalled and said that happens when the fish comes infested then sits on the shelves for too long. I reached out to Whole Foods, who instead of looking for fix the problem, told me I was wrong and they can offer a refund.
Recently, I bought their bulk chicken breast to find a worm sticking out of the top of it (see photo).
I'm not sure where the lack of care, oversight and control comes from - maybe when Amazon took over? - but its honestly disrespectful to their customers. I go there because they claim to have high quality food, but more times that not, I'm throwing even produce away due to an overgrowth of mold or bugs.
Overall, Whole Foods has become an untrustworthy supplier of meat/seafood. I think this is something people should know and understand. Please share this review.
Went to get a couple porter house. One had literally less than a half inch of filet and both steaks were turning grayish brown as they were not fresh. I will never buy meat from Whole Foods again
I reported a manager who was called a racist by a customer in Paramus. The manager was promoted.I was asked to leave because to quote the Store Manager " he can count the money in the cash register".
The Paramus location mentally abused their employees on a consistent basis. To date corporate has green light this behavior.
I wanted to write a review about the Seafood Department at Whole Foods. Living in Illinois (shop at Kildeer store) it is very difficult to purchase good quality fish and seafood from grocery stores. I have for several years tried several competing stores but always end up back at Whole Foods. My experience at other grocery stores has been smelly fish that they tout as fresh. I return it. I have Never had an issue with any of the fish and seafood I have purchased at Whole Foods. And the employees are very helpful. They have multiple ideas on preparation and what to choose. The pricing is higher but it is worth it for the quality and service.
The refuse to put olive oil on the salad buffet, but their junk salad dressings are fine. Olive oil is one of the healthiest foods you eat, but noooo...
The customer service at whole foods littleton is pathetic. The meat counter has less to choose from and prices are ever higher. The coffee bar is gone. McDonald's serves better quality and healthier food than the hot food bar. As soon as I generally find something I like, they move it or discontinue it.
I used to do all my shopping at whole foods. Now I am done with them and hope they go out of
Whole Foods Coral Gables cannot or will not sell edible cantaloupe chunks. I have tried over and over to try their melons and have even talked to the manager and produce manager to no avail. I bought these yesterday and they are dry, hard, and tasteless.
This is the third time I have shopped and come home and am missing items I was charged for? Where do they go? Are they just not bagged? Left there. I bought 4 bananas, 3 came home. I bought 6 yogurts, 5 came home. Watch your groceries being packed.
I've been shopping at WFM for decades and have always been satisfied with their products. Recently, I purchased their brand of organic outdoor access eggs. Boy, was I disappointed. The yolks were pale and watery and the eggs were nearly tasteless. I wonder if the hens are fed only a poor quality grain instead of produce and insects. I'll never purchase WFM eggs again. Of course, now that WFM is owned by Amazon, maybe one shouldn't expect quality.
Paid $16.00 for two Maryland crab cakes and the counter man assured me there was lots of crab meat in them. There was no visible crab meat in them, all filler!
Just picked up two pizzas. 31.- including tax. It was discussing. The crust was paper thin. We found about 5 pieces of tiny slivers of meat. Almost no cheese, no vegetables, no sauce. Certainly the last time we get pizza at Whole Foods. So disappointed. It used to be Awesome.
The 365 Angel Hair Dry Pasta, when cooked, became totally bubbly & effervescent (!). A sign of a heat-activated (!) bacteria that creates spores: the bacteria & it's spores are toxic & poisonous: cause nausea, vomiting & diarrhea. When touched the pasta crackled & popped. IF you see this in your pasta: do NOT EAT. Throw it away: contaminated wheat.
Answer: Good price on probiotics, but I go elsewhere for anything else.
Answer: It's amazon so you decide. It's gettng the traits of amazon.
