I have taken the time to review many aspect of the marijuana industry in Colorado and have found that it is Nirvana for the most part, there are still things that need to be addressed. One is why do the reviews only seem to be of a positive nature. I see things like "Best buds on earth", "Friendly staff", and, "What a price! I'm coming back." Dude! Reviews like that are much of what is there. Hardly to I see real objective and reliable points of criticism. Maybe it is perhaps so many of the patrons are using product before getting to the dispensary. So being negative or scrutinizing is not even on the agenda with these folks. However, I have seen critical reviews before and those should be looked at as well. They range from, dispensary was hard to get to or in a weird location, to, buds were dry and didn't get me all that high, or, price was ridiculous and product was inferior. And what happens if an employee is dubbed 'ineffective'? Are they taken aside and talked to by management? Do they lose their jobs? Are they coached and trained to do a better job? Many times when I have dealt with budtenders, they seem to be interested in selling you the highest priced item possible, don't have true knowledge of the product, often bait and switch items, or, simply don't have things organized or in stock. Many times I feel that they simply want to get the line down and sell, not really concerned about individual customer satisfaction, which is really what the marijuana industry needs to strive for collectively.

Weedmaps gives you basics in locations, buds and universal pricing. What they fail to tell you is that a great deal of the fantastic bud is always out of stock and difficult to get. That leaves the common strains that most people do not want for sale. If the customer doesn't want it, they try to go around it saying that it is a sativa 'a party bud' or an indica 'a great pain reliever'. Much of the time, that is as far as they know. If I have a question about a bud I want, they offer something else since I pick the best strains that they may never have. This site gives simple information and reviews that I feel do not truly reflect the nature of what the public really wants. There really isn't a way to know whether the dispensary in question has a good reputation, follows laws and protocols, offers reliable information, is fairly priced, has acceptable product, or even their security measures. There are so many things that Weedmaps misses that I am very surprised that so many rely on it for any type of information. Outside of where it is, when it is open, and the true stock that they carry, it is just that... a map!

Weedmaps needs to hire objective critics to venture out into dispensary land, experience the service, try the product and write a factual review for the same. Until then, they are only a navigation site with a lot of reviews that revolve around fluff!

Corrupt company
February 20, 2015

How does a company advertise honest reviews, when they take down all negative reviews? This company does not care about the consumer in the least. They don't care that you might get scammed by removing honest negative reviews. Don't trust weedmaps! This corrupt, backwards company does not belong in this industry.

They remove negative reviews--including posts with photographic evidence. We had our first really negative experience with a collective after they suddenly became promoted. After the first review was taken down--admittedly less than helpful, because it was only about the negative experience; how they stole $24 from my mother, who gets migraines so bad sometimes she reverts to a childlike state, and they took advantage of this. After this review was taken down, I read the rules carefully, and realized I hadn't put a lot of information in the review, so I figured all I needed to do was go more in depth, despite the fact that there was a comment below mine that was approximately, "heading over for the first time!" with 5 stars everywhere. So, I went more in depth. I wrote a thoughtful examination of the place, and it was taken down within 12 hours. This is not the place to go if you're an actual patient. Maybe if you have money and don't mind messing with a couple dispensaries that you don't really care about quality, go for WM. Otherwise, realize that their promoted dispensaries especially have their own moderation. Any negative reviews will be taken down, especially if it's about the protection of consumers. WM makes their money through dispensaries, promoted ones specifically. WM is paid off on a daily basis, and they don't even try to cover it up. It's sad, really, I'm looking for a great alternative.

WeedMaps should be shut down. Their listing directory is chock full of illegal scam dispensaries. WeedMaps allows dispensaries to write their own reviews, while removing any real reviews warning patients of scam businesses. WeedMaps doesn't care about patients. They only care about money. WeedMaps president Chris Beals is a crook who is well aware of the illegal activities on his website. Don't trust the reviews and don't trust WeedMaps. This company is a den of thieves looking to rip off everyone. BOYCOTT WEEDMAPS AND THEIR ADVERTISERS.

They will remove your reviews of a club if it is not positive? Seems they are in cahoots with the clubs and if a club has nasty employees that rip you off then you cant give a real review of the situation without it being removed

I found the site very hard to navigate at first... my biggest complaint is that it thinks I am in California when I am in Washington... and I feel like I have to fight with it to accept where I live, even though it asks for my zip code (and why isn't that saved under my profile?) every single time right at the start. Plus, it wants you to log in. Also... since it is such a hard site to navigate, this is best done unmedicated. Luckily, I live in a sate (WA) where Medical Marijuana is available. That being said... WeedMaps really likes to show me dispensaries that are in California which is a very stoner thing to do. I would really only give the site 2 stars... but there isn't anywhere else, at this moment to get this information, so that bumped my review up to a 3... just because nothing else like it exists. I mean... it may be obvious why it's hard and non-intuitive to work: the site could have built by people who might possibly have been medicated. That is actually my biggest complaint I have about the site: We aren't looking for a party (at least I am not) so if they lost the "party vibe" they have going and made it more professional and more geared toward Medical Marijuana that would go a LONG way to making the whole site feel better. Actually... now that I have written this out... I'm bumping my rating down to a 2. WeedMaps: You can do better. At least they have some informative links.
