Webkinz Reviews Summary

Webkinz has garnered a mixed reputation among its users, with many appreciating its nostalgic value and educational aspects for children. Customers enjoy the engaging gameplay and the responsibility it teaches through pet care. However, there is significant dissatisfaction regarding the increasing emphasis on paid Deluxe memberships, which restrict access to many features that were previously available for free. Additionally, users frequently report technical issues, such as site slowdowns and poor customer service, particularly in resolving billing problems and account access. Overall, while the platform remains beloved by some, its monetization strategies and support challenges have led to a decline in user satisfaction.

Miss it
August 4, 2016

I remember playing it when I was a little kid and I loved it! I always begged my parents for new webkinz and had deluxe until I grew out of it and moved onto different games. I can remember i was trying to get the full set of the donut costume and was asking people if they had the shoes, I got banned for a month from chatting and trading just for asking that. After that I lost interest. I logged in today and see that you have to have deluxe to chat, trade, etc. All of the good clothes are off limits to free players. A game where I have to pay to talk to people is not one I would like to play. I was excited to see the games I used to enjoy. But guess what? They're all deluxe now. Webkinz is just looking for money now. I really wish it was back to what it was like years ago.

I made my account in 2007, and man were those the times. It was the best website to play on. I have so many rare and old items, along with multiple pets. I remember my sister and I used to get on at the same time and play games together. I recently logged on today to see if they had fixed some of their problems like the new update, and I am very disappointed. It is very sad to see what it has become. I could deal with some updates like the vacations and somewhat of the deluxe, but webkinz, you have gone too far. You have succeeded in making an original player quit because you ruined the game. I do not know if that was their goal with the decade anniversary to make older players quit, but I feel very guilty knowing that I wasted a lot of my money and my parent's money. It makes me really sad to log in and remember all the good memories and know current players will not have those because the game is so glitchy and money hungry, not to mention covered with so many ads. Do not waste your time or money on webkinz, it is not worth it.

I used to play webkinz as a kid, it was fun to take care of my pets. Now I can't even access my old account anymore. I made a new account but I can't even log onto that account anymore, I think they removed it because I stopped playing for a week. I only stopped playing it because a lot of the games were for deluxe membership, and the game kept freezing. The site also logged me out randomly and I had to log in multiple times. Overall it was a very frustrating experience, clearly their site does not work and all they care about for sure is money. The site is also very slow. I feel bad for all that money my parents spent on those toys. Now it is a waste. I will not create a new account nor will I want to come back. At least I still have my old webkinz toys, I just won't buy anymore from webkinz.

I am a mother to a 7 year old child. When I purchased a 2 webkinz for my daughter, I was expecting that those webkinz would be the last payments towards this company. However, I find I'm have to pay to be a "deluxe" member in Oder to play most games. I am not paying a monthly fee so my daughter can be on a totally glitchy website that barely ever works just so she can play a couple of extra games. The website is always running slow, or skipping, and is not worth a penny! Webkinz company should seriously consider a redo of everything and get back to the original 2000's decade webkinz.

I am saddened at what has happened to Webkinz. It used to be a fun, sweet, and unique game and I LOVED it! But now, the deluxe stuff has taken over, leaving me with limited access to things I used to do daily. At least I still have the stuffed animals...

I've got a question: Why are you changing Webkinz so much?

I can only tell you that in the beginning it was great. The last few months have been awful. We can no long see the dock it is out of the screen and no way to make it smaller. The ads that they have on the Webkinz site are covering up the icons that allow you to move from screen to screen. I have sent emails by using the comments and suggestion icon. I have sent emails everyday for the last 3 weeks with no change. Can someone tell me if I can reach them by phone so this can be corrected.

Webkinz is a great online game for kids. In addition to being a website, there is also a line of plush animals with codes so you can play with them on the site. Unfortunately, more and more features are becoming only for Deluxe Members. In order to be a Deluxe Member, you must pay a recurring monthly fee. But, now, if you sign up for Webkinz, you are allowed one free pet, either a cat or a puppy. All in all, Webkinz is a great website for children to have fun.

At least getting a Webkinz will always be better than just FLUSHING YOUR MONEY DOWN THE TOILET.
Webkinz used to be cool, but it doesn't take a while to realize that it's for babies. But still, sadly, I have 16 Webkinz now for some reason, and 16 year olds admit to playing the game on Youtube, and people are always pretending to make out and have sex on Webkinz (You know, those people who can't get laid IRL and instead have to whack off to pixels in the shape of a dog making heart emoticons in front of a complete and total stranger).
Webkinz is basically a giant pit your money will fall into time and time again, but soon, you ironically realize you're not getting anything out of it.

Fun games to play for adults and children. They have learning opportunities and the games are changing. Very safe for children.
The downside is that you must either purchase a stuffed animal or code or become a member to access all of the features.
This site is consistently of good quality and keeps the play interesting.

I will explain the whole "paying" thing to anybody who doesn't understand it

They changed the rules so Webkinz accounts never expire. And they also changed it so if you didn't buy a Webkinz within a year, instead of your account closing, you just don't have a full membership.

Love the idea of challenges for Webkinz, great idea. Not really original, but a great, used idea(:

Some of the games are the opposite of educational, like Hungry Hog where you eat junk food and get fat, but when you eat the vegetables, you loose 50 points. But quizzy's corner is a great way to learn interesting facts, and brush up on skills expecially over the summer!

So my family has been active on Webkinz.com since 2008. It has mostly been a very positive experience. I was skeptical about safety and security at first but learned that there are many safety measures in place to protect the kids who play on it. I also had worried that my kids would want the stuffed animals so that they could then just play with them online but the animals themselves are used all the time for play. They are a great value. The games on the site serve a range of children's ages and abilities. The rooms are cute and completely customizable. There are fun daily activities and one of my kids' favourite things are the monthly "music videos" that come out.

Many areas of the site come can be accessed with the purchase of an animal and entering its code but it is worth noting that some areas still need other purchases to be accessed (some virtual, some through other product... or specific product).

The one thing we *have* found frustrating over time is the difficulty involved in connecting with friends. You have to know what colour area they are in and if you do manage to connect, it is hit and miss as to whether you will actually get to visit for long or if you will get booted out or have the thing freeze up. If that feature worked more consistently, I would give Webkinz the 4th star hands-down as there is no doubt that we've gotten good value just from the stuffed animals alone: no doubt my kids will grow up and keep at least a few of them.

(I admitedly sneak into their accounts to play games too... and I know I'm not the only parent doing that. The games are easy enough for kids but still fun enough for grown ups ;)

I used to love this website. I mean, on it 4 hours a day kinda love. But 1 day, it wouldent let me go into my room! I had to by a whole new pet just to enter. Then it kicked me out again! I would love to acually play on there again, IF ONLY THEY WOULD LET ME!

Usually I would say 1/4 for these kind of sites but my little sister learned alot from this site, even some sutff I wish she didn't (now she bugs me that fairy's are real...) the pets are pricey and they rip you off with that pet of the month because I have overheard my sister being mad because she didn't some toy thing because she already had that pet and you had to activate it on that month.

They are pretty expensive but if you look at it like this. You only need to get one a year, they make easy to find and pretty cheap gifts that actually do something a bit useful (makes silence in the way they will leave you alone till they are bored).

Also like the guy below, the servers they use are old and don't work well, and customer service say that you need to update you flash player or system, and even after that it won't work so that is also why I dropped it from 3/4 to 2/4

Love them or hate them... either way kids want these little things. You bring them into the toy store and it seems like they are all over these guys. I thought this was just a fad like those beenie babies but for some reason kids still want them, maybe for the online games. I will say if you introduce this to a child who has never seen it before, you will be a big hit with them and in the end that is the most important thing.

I will admit we have spent about 300 dollars buying these stuffed animals but it is worth it. The pure joy my daughter gets when the POTM (pet of the month) virtual gift arrives is worth every penny. It also teaches her to do things like feed her pet and does teach responsibility. No fear of online predators while she is on this site as well. If you are new to webkinz, I would recommend going to their site and starting with the pet of the month for the extra goodies, the kids seem to love them.

Complaints about Webkinz Site - Great idea but unfortunately the site rarely works! You can't reach a live person so forget customer support. The company's FAQ responses place the blame on the user's system - browser, etc.

When I first went on the site almost one year ago, I did not experience the problems I'm having now. I assume that the Web site can't handle the volume and the company seems to be doing little to resolve this issue. I've now found a lot of similar complaints going back to 2007.
