We monitor reviews for authenticity
You get a robot answer most of the time. They don't read messages as they reply with a different concept they often don't reply.
There is plenty of fake brand selling on vinted, a seller can list any brand as long as they don't mention the brand name double standards...
I received a damaged jacket I asked them for a return label mor than five times. Never received then received a message saying I am not getting refund because I did not send the jacket! How can I send it without an addressed abel?
Will report them to trading standards
Beautiful and quality items at giveaway prices, fast and cheap delivery charges, Sweet shopping experience and a reliable Application for buying and selling
I give one star to Vinted because it's getting worse every time. Unjustly, they are hiding or deleting items that do not violate their policies at all. I have carefully reviewed the rules, and I have never uploaded anything that goes against their rules. I have uploaded items for decoration, accessories, and clothing, and for no apparent reason, they remove them. The truth is that the experience is becoming quite frustrating. All they are achieving is making users lose interest in using the platform and seek other options to sell our items
I sold an item and posted by Evri one month ago. ( Buyer chose custom postage, but I posted by trackable Evri just in case) Buyer received the item only couple days after, but not click 'received' on Vinted. The issue is sellers could lose item, money and prepaid postage fee. Customer service is honestly not very helpful, they just said their system will automatic change to deliver after a month, and asked seller to contact buyer, require buyer to mark 'received'. If buyers would do that at the first place, why bother to ask ' customer service' for help. Why would be fair to sellers to wait more than one month if there is provable evidence buyer receive the item only couple days after sending?
Sellers paid postage first, spend their time to pack the stuff well and send the item promptly, but the control is not in the seller. I realized there is a way in their system for buyers to cheat: get stuff without paying or ask for refund. Hope this review can help some sellers.
The customer service is so poor and on two occasions I have needed to contact Vinted, on both occasions they have been unhelpful despite the issues being Vinted and yodel problems.
Avoid if you want to be out of pocket!
I sent an item to a buyer and the package was put in a wrong box in the buyers' local InPost locker.
Seems easy to resolve, right?!
Vinted made a big deal out of it, is incapable of releasing the package, that is still sitting in the InPost locker and has refunded the buyer, which is fine by me, without returning my item.
I have received 'back' a different item which I have to 'babysit' now, knowing it is someone else's property.
I have tried to explain what is going on, what they have to do, how they can just release my package, sent photos, requested to speak to a supervisor, make a formal complaint, asked them to release my package (they control the InPost lockers) and asked what to do with the item that's not mine.
They are completely dismissive, and ignore basically all I tell them.
My original package is still in the locker (I can see this through the tracking number) and will probably stay there forever (they are refusing to release it back to me).
The are also required by UK law to provide me with the details of their formal dispute resolution service (before I take legal action against them) and haven't provided that either.
They are therefore in breach of all kinds of UK trading and consumer rights laws and I have reported them to the Trading Standards Commission.
Now, I've run a little check in the internet to see if I'm the only one who has so many issues with them and - oh my goodness:
- hundreds of pages of warnings including warnings that the 5* reviews here are mainly fake
- complaints to various government / consumer rights bodies
- they are apparently under EU scrutinty for breach of EU-laws
- some people have taken the time to make YouTube videos to warn about them.
So, I guess they are a rogue platform in the first instance. I got scammed by them. I will delete my account.
But I thought I share - stay clear guys, you'll regret it.
Unable to verify two cards but not able to tell me why
Had to cancel the item I was selling and money was taken from two cards to verify the transaction which was then not completed.
My money and the seller's money will now be frozen for 40 days and I am now down £300 for 40 days.
This has been a terrible experience.
I have just started using vinted. Had an issue after 4th purchase with a dress being a different size to advertised. Seller not responding and judging by other reviews on here, I will have to send back at my own expense. What is the extra buyer protection for? Seems great for sellers but not so good for buyers.
This website sells counterfeit goods! And when I challenged it, they didn't provide any evidence of authenticity and automatically took my money. And no complaints procedure! Only customer service chat which has now ghosted me.
I sent an item through vinted Evri, it never arrived with the buyer and was returned to me, but damaged in transit. I contacted vinted but apparently I was not able to get compensation because I had received the order! Not sure what I should have done but now I have a damaged item I can't relist and vinted don't want to help. Obismol customer service. Zero stars. Do not send anything of value because if it was like my experience, you won't be compensated if things don't go to plan!
Buyers protection which must be paid by buyer compulsory. Is a complete joke, means nothing. But then again so is customer care, customer care my. There's no such thing on Vinted concerning customer care. If you get sent wrong item, get ripped off by seller, don't get the item or actually any other complaint, do not ever ever! Expect it to be resolved it never will be. So bye bye money, bye bye item bye bye buyer. A complete and utter $#*! show, should be shut down by tradings standards.
A high percentage of the listing don't show enough of the garment or are taken in bad light. Item that are damaged are not pointed out and sellers do not respond to buyers in a timely manner. Vinted are cut throat in applications of their policies; therefore be very selective in what you buy. Posting is delayed Try to get answers from sellers, ask question. People sell on the site because they don't charge fees. If I add pictures it will be traced back to me.
Basically the platform works well if everything is well and if a problem is not significant. They have a responsive customer support that is not very smart but can successfully read and copy/paste scripts as needed. The platform is great for buying things and is ALWAYS on a side of a buyer. BUT be very careful when selling (specifically selling expensive items), they will not help - you will just get a script message over and over again that makes totally no sense. I have sent a new prada shoes (in an original box with a dustbag and with pictures of all logos, etc). The shoes got stolen on the way or maybe the buyer lied (the box was delivered but without shoes). Vinted just sent me an email that the shoes were counterfeit (with all the pictures clearly showing that they are original & I have a score of 5 for 110 evaluations) and that they will not reimburse me. Basically, as Vinted can't directly blame the logistics company and get money from them, they would come up with any reason / lie in order not to reimburse. Again, great platform to buy and sell old cheap clothes but clearly not at the level of RealReal (US) or vestiare collective if you want to sell designer clothes. Be very careful.
I would give 0* if I could.
I've been selling on Vinted for fee years now. 100% 5*. Lately I've sold glasses, they were packed properly in a case, box, bubble foil and tape. Put into mailbag (brand new!) and sent. Glasses were stolen from the box, bag ripped and taped by someone who stolen them.
Vinted doesn't want to refund me money as they insist it was MY fault! I've never taken pictures when sending items as this situation never happened before and now Vinted says "no money for you, you naive idiot as you don't have pictures"
Im soooooo angry! Ive lost money and item and no one wants to help!
They take money very easily but when tou need help - they avoid any!
Guys be careful when using Vinted! They are not good at all!
Terrible Don't waste your time. Had 1 or 2 ok items. But mostly sellers will jist mess you around not send for over a week and u still don't get the auto refund or not send at all amd are cancelling without even informing you within less than a day now and must he lying using a mutual agreement option so you can't leave negative feedback. Don't trust the feedback scores. Vinted will also just block you if something goes wrong or a seller treats you badly. I cant say what it's like as a seller because I've never risked it. Always seemed to risky to me them holding your money. They also like to refund less than you paid. Seen numerous complaints from sellers on fb though
Buyer's Protection is an expensive Farce
You pay a good percentage, sometimes even half of the price of the item for so called 'protection'.
Yet I have had sellers send children's sizes instead of adults, plus sizes that are no where near wearable 'normal sizes', faded, extremely bobbly, ripped, broken zips, permanently stained & generally damaged items that either do not look like their photos or were well hidden.
Vinted make you return it at not only your own cost, but time, disappointment, frustration & inconvenience.
Don't buy presents on here, you may end up empty handed. Seller's often barter on price then choose or forget to send the item within the 5day window & you can be left waiting another 10working days on top of that for your money back!
Also no proof of abuse received from the seller who knowingly ripped you off will convince vinted that the seller should pay for such deception, encouraging dodgy sellers to sell here & leave innocent, good buyers receiving awful unjust reviews from them on top of all that!
Vinted will only take it down if there is swearing or a plainly worded threat, leaving conniving narcissists to flat out lie & say you were abusive to them, when vinted can see in messages that it was actually them that were to you!
Or simply manipulate their words in a way that implies that the buyer was at fault & not to trust THEM instead of the true culprit, the seller!
Bad Sellers Paradise..
After the carrier kindly left my order in clear view on the drive, on return from work it was not there. I reported to Vinted alongside the carriers photo. Following this, Vinted expect me to have a pdf converter programme, home pc and printer to signed a document. They were not helpful after advising I don't have a printer etc and made matters worse by reminding me that we are in 2023. Whilst I appreciate this, we also recognise difference and I buy online due to a disability. The buyer protection is made difficult, I'd be surprised if anyone ever gets their money back when Vinted have to pay and not the seller
Tried to return an item but you have to jump through so many hoops.Must have taken me 30 minutes to buy postage and copy all the documents needed, then they would not upload to Vinted, so looks as though I am stuck with this item and now have to cancel and reclaim my postage cost. So much easier on eBay's return system
I bought a ring on Vinted but when it arrived it wasn't the one I was expecting. I contacted the seller via the dispute and she categorically denied sending it. She provided proof of the one she had sent so I contacted Vinted. It turns out that the ring had been swapped out at the Evri depot as the packaging had been opened and resealed with brown tape. Vinted stated they would investigate and, after a week, they closed the dispute and completed order because Evri had confirmed the package was delivered. The dispute wasn't about the delivery! I am now out of pocket with an ugly ring. What is the use of a buyers fee if it doesn't protect you against tampered packages?
