After working for about 2 months after installation I lost TV channels and the DVR lost some functions.
Getting tech support is a nightmare: after gettig thru convoluted, irrelevant dialogs with their Artificial Stupidity system, thre is long wait to speak to an agent who will just go thru canned scripts (typically for about an hour), solve nothing or make things worse.
Ater spending several hours on the phone to no avail over about two weeks, FIOS sent me a replacement set top box that came with a new set of problems, so eventually (more time on the phone) they sent a technician that modified the wiring and added an additional box (now I have a total of 4 FIOS devices sucking power 24/7!) and services appeared to return to normal.
Today, three days after the tech visit, the DVR became unable to delete played recordings, so now the DVR space is gradually clogging up.
Now I am back to square one in FIOS hell.
CAVEAT EMPTOR - this is what you will get for $140/month!
THE CHERRY on THIS CAKE: Under normal operation, the DVR functionality and controls truly stink!
I lived in a rural area and had to use satellite for years, it was BAD. When Verizon expanded it to our area, it was great. We could work from home, watch TV. And stay connected. At a very low price, I got rid of Direct TV and satellite internet. A savings of $300 per month
I ordered 2 boxes my service was supposed to be $198 dollars a month. The installation was incomplete the installer forgot my second box when calling to get my FREE second box I was told I had to pay 25$ dollars for the installers mistake after that my bill went from 198 to 250 then to 232$ when I was able to leave this toxic out sourcing company I returned my equipment then was charged 295$ for leaving when I called because I was charged over one thousand dollars in hidden fees the Supervisor became combative nevermind rude and down right a awful human being when I asked about the charges I was given every excuse known to mankind I'm now going to be taking them to court because of there unethical and Unprofessional practices let this be a warning DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH VERIZON. Read reviews on this company and how many Class Action Law Suits they have on them do not make the same mistake I did.
Xfinity is not fun. When my wife and I purchased a new home we went with Verizon Fios. Getting the hardware in place was an all day affair. It has been worth it. The service has been flawless, signal strength is awesome - we have never had issues. The only issue we have had was getting signal extenders hooked up for some of the outlying areas of the house. Customer Service walked even a technically unable through the process and it was fixed. Someone clearly thought through the equipment, making sure it synchronizes and functions will ease. Adjustments to service can be done online or through our television to customize the package as we see fit. In fact, the only issue we have had was power outages. That includes a poll coming down. Though we did not know it, Verizon owned the down poll. Upon being informed, they had a replacement poll up within 24 hours. Affected houses still using Xfinity further down the line had to wait several more days to have their service restored. Verizon, in sharp contrast, took great care of our property while effecting repairs. Xfinity drove their truck onto soggy ground, after being instructed not to (they actually asked and pointed out the dangers - then did it anyway). They left a series of ruts on our lawn and then attempted to scamper away. Our neighbors complain about spotty service and outages, and we have had none. Price is comparable to Xfinity, but every aspect of Verizon has been a snap. At this point, I have to wonder why anyone would bother to use Xfinity at all?
Verizon Fios and Verizon the team became spiteful derelict with windows and all other entities, they manipulate you on your own network and hide in the background like cowards. They don't look you in the face, only behind your back. Sneaky cowards, they are holding us hostage, I believe what comes around goes, around maybe a jolt of 220 volts will help them stop their childish games.
