Paranoia at Urban outfitters to detect potential misuse or fraud has resulted in financial check procedures which definitely put me off ever again to place an order at their website.
This is the email I received:
Thank you for your recent order with Urban Outfitters Europe. Unfortunately, we havent been able to verify your name and address with your bank. We make it our priority to ensure our customers dont fall victim to fraud, so well need a few extra details before we can validate your purchase and get it on its way to you.
The first way you can do this is to scan or snap a photo of your physical bank card and photo ID, ensuring your name is on both items. For your security, make sure only the last 4 digits of your bank card are visible in the copy or photo before you email it over to us.
Alternatively, ask your bank for the 6-digit Authorisation Number Code they gave us when you first placed the order. Youll need to let them know the date you placed the order, and how much it was for. Once youve got this number, please give us a call on *******998 between 12pm-4am GMT.
On my question to give me a faxnbr to send the scans instead of sending it unsafe via internet, I never got a response back. Then I called them and they said I need to call my bank for an Authorisation Number Code. My bank told me that it is not the policy to give such a code and if they needed this, Urban outfitters should request the code from their bank.
At this point I was so fed up with the order that I requested to cancel it. I got a mail back that the order was cancelled, but then I found out that Urban Outfitters made TWICE a reservation on my creditcard of the order amount. This really pissed me off. How is it possible that they ask for extra verification while they were able to reserve TWICE the amount on my credit card.
I cannot for the life of me understand how a company can continue to mess things up over and over again. And shame on me for giving them so many chances! My orders are ALWAYS LATE. And NEVER RIGHT. I will never shop with them again.
I purchased a item (raincoat) on 16 July 2015 with Urban Outfitters( North America) but had to exchange it for a smaller size.
Unfortunately the only 'exchange' method is to place another order online and return the other size back to the Reply Paid address provided.
Hence this I did.
I have been back and forth with emails checking whether they have processed my refund.
The generic emails I have received did not provide me with even simple information to say whether they have received the returned item in question!
The date is now 9 September 2015 and they haven't the courtesy of responding to my latest email ( after having said that they would respond within 72 hours which has long lapsed)
I shop globally online all the time and have never encountered this atrocious level of poor service. I thought UO were a reputable company. Obviously not!
I have wasted enough time chasing after my refund. A cashback from my credit card company is the way to go I reckon in this case.
UO- you have lost a customer today. Never will I shop with you again.
There are plenty of other good if not better sites to shop from.

I recently got a good deal on a pair of shoes. So I purchased 20 of them. They processed my order for 3 days to cancel it for no reason. Their explanation was that the price is too low and they can't sell it to me for that price. They later banned me from purchasing anything on their site with no explanation. Don't waste your time with then they suck!
I ordered my comforter and pillow case set with standard shipping and I received them two days before the minimum expected arrival date! They're in the wash right now and hopefully will soften up a bit, but overall the shipping was great and I hope the product is, too!
LOOK OUT FOR EXPRESS CHECKOUT! IT WILL COST YOU $40 US and it should be free to Australia if you spend $50 US or more. I did contact them a few times to query this and they are unable to cancel order once it is in the works. The big shame is that no order confirmation was sent so I was not aware until I checked on line in my orders history. There needs to be a better system of response to emails, I feel, to us in other countries because we get nervous that we are being ripped off! I must say that the phone support was pretty good however no budging on cancellation even though I had purchased a second pair of the same shoe by accident. They did refund the $40.00 for postage though so KUDOS for that and I think it is free to post back and they will refund as they do not do exchange to over seas minus a $5.00 service fee! Slightly rude as it was their Balls up that made me reorder! Mustn't grumble as it is a pretty cool site for bits and pieces. SIGH. Slightly disappointed!
"I wish I had read online reviews before ordering a bed in bag set for my daughter heading to college. The order has been delayed three times and now I was just told they are unable to change the shipping address (to get it sent to her at college rather than here at home). Although the item hasn't arrived in their warehouse yet, they are UNABLE to change the shipping address. They offered to cancel the current order and start over which they admitted could result in another month delay in receiving the item. I wrote an email requesting assistance a few days ago and haven't gotten a response. HORRIBLE customer service... I will never order from them again or set foot in their store."
Urban Outfitters have a HORRIBLE return time. I shipped back a pair of Dr Marten boots I bought from them in december of 2014. I bought the boots put them in storage, put them on the for the first time in the summer and realized I was sent the wrong size. I sent them back thinking they would be shipped back to me in no time. Well, guess what? I shipped my boots two whole weeks ago and I am still waiting and set to be waiting for another week because it takes 30 days to process a return according to Urban Outfitters. I can send a laptop in for repairs and receive it back in less than 7 days, so why does it take 30 days to process a return? Stupid.
I've ordered from Urban Outfitters in the past and deliveries have been fine, however... things seem to have gone very downhill lately. I've ordered maybe 4/5 times from them within the past 2 months and something has been wrong with every order: overcharged, the wrong colour item sent, items missing, missing deliveries, charging my card 2 weeks later after the order (causing me to go into my overdraft), posting to the wrong address - you name it, it's happened!
Their refund process is horribly slow as well, only refunding once you chase it up. Getting a response from their customer service team is a whole other issue, getting passed between different people and taking up to 2 days to respond sometimes and even then they don't take your complaint seriously.
I would say DO NOT buy from them online, maybe instore. But even then the clothes are so overpriced. It's not worth it!
We order a swimwear what we received is the bottom only and were told that they will send the top after we complaint what we received was a refund of the top which was lesser than what we pay for because the rate and fee.
I last ordered a dress from Urban for a dance at my school a week before the actual date. Knowing it might not fit right or look how I wanted it to I paid for express shipping. Not only did the dress not come within the time period it said it would, but the dress arrived a month and a half later! I do like Urban, but I would not suggest shopping on their online store. Terrible service.
I've bought multiple times from OU online and I always get the regular shipping, which is supposed to take 5-9 days but I always receive my orders the day after they were shipped which is amazing and I get exactly what I ordered without any problems
They wrapped my mom's gift (ordered online) in plain white tissue paper, taped badly with scotch tape and with an ugly Urban Outfitters sticker on it. I'm glad I had it shipped to me to include a card with it instead of to my mom. I unwrapped it and it had a large shipping sticker on it underneath the tissue paper. They obviously don't care about a gift being wrapped nicely for the pleasure of the gift recipient. I paid $4 for the wrapping, and they obviously only spent 1 minute of labor and 10 cents worth of supplies to wrap it.
Worst customer service of ALL time. I went online to look at flannels. Excluding the fact that all of their stuff is completely over priced, I went into their sale section and found a $50 flannel for $10! Reading the reviews, majority were saying that the flannel was "vintage" and every single one was different than pictured including style, colour etc - some people were pleased, 75% were not. I purchased it anyway. I received a confirmation email saying that the flannel was back ordered and would not be shipped till after July 7th. I didn't mind, so I left it at that. The next day, I received an email giving me a 20% off and a free shipping coupon with a note saying my order had been cancelled because it was completely out of stock. It's whatever, but I expected a full refund of the now $24 dollar flannel (thanks shipping and tax and duties). I emailed them immediately (followed by 3 more emails) and a Twitter DM and a Twitter@ since they were active 25 minutes before I went online. I did not receive a reply on either format for 2 days. I finally called their customer service number and someone told me my order had been indeed cancelled... That's all she said. I questioned whether or not I would receive a refund. She said "yes." I said "uh. When". She goes, "um I don't know, maybe Monday?"
Worst customer service ever. Stupidly over priced everything. I mean, thanks for the coupon but I certainly will NOT be using it any time soon. Thanks Urban Outfitters.
I ordered a dress and two pairs of jeans (they were on sale for 50% off) back in March and because I was on exchange, I didn't actually get to open my package until I got home around June... only to find the dress and ONE PAIR of the two jeans that I had ordered... I called in and they said they could only do something about it if it were within 30 days of receiving the package? They couldn't reimburse me or even offer any kind of store credit... so at the end of the day I paid for a full priced pair of jeans when it was their mistake and only gave me one. Terrible and unprofessional.
They don't care about your business. Thier customer service is the worst. Don't bother with their online--they cancel your order for no reason. They ship things to the wrong address and then you call them to correct and they ship it to the wrong address again and again. Refuse to give refunds for their mistakes. Its like a company run by drug addled maniacs who don't care if they sell anything. Hippies.
Never buying form UO again.
A month ago I had ordered a black bralette online and found that it I needed a larger size. I sent it back to UO with the exchange sheet and pre-paid shipping over three weeks ago. Recently, I discovered that UO added $15 or so back into my bank account (and I had originally paid $21) and so I called customer service. I was told that there was nothing I could do about the mistake on UO's part and that I essentially lost money for no reason (when I ordered, I guess I didn't realize that return don't count the shipping fee...). I understand that accidents happen and I am fine with that; however, I am very disappointed with that limited help the UO provided.
As an international customer my first order were cancelled since they've requested me to call them within 48 hours although I've submitted the full payment!
My 2nd order was OK, but many items was not eligible for international shipping so I've taken them out from my cart and when order received 3 garments came totally different from the picture shown on the websites with bad quality fabric and when I emailed them about it,,,, they've ignored me.

This is the first time writing a review on a company. I usually don't voice my opinion but now I'm really mad. Whenever I order something from Urban Outfitters a get a confirmation email and 5 minutes later a cancellation email stating that my order was canceled with no explanation. I really wanted a certain item I called customer service told them about my issue and asked if I can order via phone and they told me a customer service rep will contact me shortly. In the meantime I tried ordering online again only to get a confirmation and then the familiar cancellation email. I called again and was asked to call the processing department where I was told someone will call me back shortly and now 5 days later I'm still waiting for the call. I really want that item and only they sell it but had enough!
Went to the website to order a last minute gift. The details box on the e-gift card site says... Waited until the last minute? We've got your back. UO Gift Cards are always the perfect size, and our E-Gift Cards are sent super-fast! Available in denominations of $25- $1000, E-Gift Cards are sent directly to the recipient's email address. They're instantly redeemable at UrbanOutfitters.com and at our US stores, once they've been printed out.
What they don't tell you is that their "super-fast" is 24 - 48 business hours and they don't process requests on weekends.
When I called Customer Service about the delay, they stated that the policy is listed under shipping but the card isn't being shipped!
If you need something last minute, don't use Urban Outfitters!

Answer: Mine took a few weeks - but that was to Australia. You'll probably get it - but I hope you like it as they are terrible at getting back to you and getting a refund took me MONTHS!
Answer: Never bought from em, but they're so effin expensive like save urself the trouble and shop somewhere else like Pacsun, Brandy, even Romwe lmao.
