BOSCH was recommended to us as an excellent brand for dishwashers, so in Nov. 2023 we bought a new BOSCH 100 series dishwasher from a retail store in Calgary, Canada. We stayed with just the one year warranty, as it's supposed to be such a good reliable product and our previous dishwasher (another brand) had lasted many years without problems (dishwashers are supposed to last 10 years or more). The new machine worked well for a year, until a month after the warranty expired (i.e. Good for 13 months). Usage had been light in a two-person family (Seniors). Then the machine suddenly did not function properly. All cycle-setting buttons and button iights went dead, except for the 2 hour cycle, which does run water, but the cleaning is erratic. Often dishes etc. are not washed properly. The retail store who sold us the machine (Visions Electronics in Calgary) refused to compensate us in any way since the warranty had just run out. We then paid $108 for a dishwasher repair guy to come out. After inspecting for 15 mins he said he could not fix it, did not know what the problem was, maybe a broken circuit board costing $600 to replace,"so why not just buy a new dishwasher" he said before leaving. Easy for him to say, but we were $800 out of pocket by then and are still stuck with a lemon dishwasher. Our other complaint is that In December 2024 we tried many times to contact BOSCH Customer Service at their number given, but nobody answered Also impossible to leave a phone message. In January 2025 after two weeks away, on return we finally did receive a message from BOSCH left on answerphone, but so garbled and faint we could not catch the number to call back (the previous number listed certainly did not work). We had also tried emailing BOSCH but again no joy. We gave up trying but remain stuck with a malfunctioning BOSCH dishwasher after many attempts to contact BOSCH to discuss the situation. Contact should not be this difficult with a top brand manufacturer if they value their reputation/customer satisfaction, which somehow does not appear to be the case here. Bottom line: we were sold a machine that malfunctioned way too soon, and still would like some recompense from the manufacturer as a goodwill gesture. At this point we recommend shoppers to buy other brands than BOSCH to avoid risking similar all-round frustrating experiences.
