​I arrived at the Turkish Airlines (THY) check-in counter at Çukurova Airport around 1:30 AM for my flight, TK2477, with PNR number SIYQ48, scheduled for 2:20 AM on the night of Thursday, September 18, to Friday, September 19. While I was waiting in line, there was still more than 45 minutes until the flight was scheduled to depart. I have a video recording that shows and proves this situation.
​When I finally reached the counter, the THY representative told me that I was late, the gates were closed, and I couldn't board the plane. This was due to the THY staff not processing check-in procedures in a timely manner. The only alternative they offered was to put my name on the standby list for flight TK2481, which was scheduled for 4:20 AM on the same night. They told me to check back 45 minutes before the flight time to see if a seat was available and then tore up my original ticket and threw it in the trash.
​While I was being added to the standby list, my colleagues who were on the same flight as me informed me that someone else was using my seat and that the plane was completely full. When I reported this to the airport's sales office and suggested that it was an overbooking situation, an employee told me that the flight was not full.
​When I returned to the standby check-in desk 45 minutes before the 4:20 AM flight, the THY employee informed me that my ticket cancellation and addition to the standby list had been processed in their system at 1:35 AM. She apologized, stating that she was in another area at the time and didn't notice, and that she could have helped me if she was there. I personally witnessed THY staff selling tickets and performing check-ins for other customers even while I was speaking with the agent at the standby desk 25 minutes before the flight.
​Due to a lack of available seats on the standby list, I was forced to buy a last-minute business class ticket. As a result, I was financially harmed and had to pay an additional 9,128.76 TL. I have a video recording of my conversation with the THY representative.
​I am requesting a full refund of the 9,128.76 TL I was forced to pay and compensation for the damages I incurred due to the cancellation of my ticket because of overbooking and the misleading information provided by airport staff. Although I also submitted the complaint in Turkish Airlines customer service, it was rejected on the grounds that I was late. As I have stated repeatedly, I was in line before the deadline and have a video recording of the incident. I will file a complaint through all available channels until this injustice is rectified. I will also initiate the necessary legal proceedings.

The quality is definitely worth the price difference you pay, it is much ahead of other airlines. It offers an experience you won't regret. TK is one of the best in every way.

Worst airline in the World

Between sept 5 to sept 29,2023 made trips to Rome, and berlin via Istanbul, and all 8 flights were delayed by over an hour. Had 2 missed connections, and they lost my luggage. Incurred extra expenses for having to staying 2 more day to Oct 1, because of their total incompetence at every level. They can not operate a flight on time, and their staff at gates, or counters, all lie and try to make you stay in Istanbul. The airline does not compensate for inconvenience, and flight delayed over 3.5 hours. They even refuse to credit miles earned, and do not respond t0o claims/ or their stupid so called feedbacks. BEWARE AND DO NOT FLY TURKISH AIR OR YOU REGRET IT LATER.
