It's reasonable to be concerned about the legitimacy and authenticity of acquiring a cheap Windows license online. However, OEM licenses for Windows are legitimate, and available at significantly discounted prices relative to retail versions that you buy in a shop. The difference - it's the same Windows, just that an OEM license cannot be transferred from one computer to another (when was the last time you ever did that?). I wanted a new license because I had bought a Mac and wanted to install Windows for use with Bootcamp as well as for running within a virtual machine. Upon purchasing the license I was immediately given instructions for the software download plus a functioning license key.
