The use of this application is poor for the following reasons;
After signing up an account I am now being told my account is not authenticated and I have to pay a small deposit in order to keep using it or ask questions on cars for sale. We don't have to do that in Australia and that seems a joke!
2. When you try get support the biggest scam I have seen for a long time is that you can call them at $1.99 a minute... Like it's a premium phone number service and they are profiting off your need for help because their app is $#*!. That's terrible
3. Usability; compared to applications in Australia this is Mickey mouse half baked application. It's clunky. You try change the make of car and if often picks the make for you. You have to keep going back to the start for a new search. It constantly freezes up. You also can't choose the series of vehicle. Example if you are looking for a turbo forester you can't search for that you have to manually look through all forester ads to find it.
I hope someone soon starts up a competitive app to trademe as the owners clearly think if they have a monopoly they don't have to provide a good product. Charing $1.99 a minute for tech support is just a joke
Come on trade me up your game!
Tricky Doggy Ugly Awful Shame of NZ monopoly no way to compliant or $1.99+GST for any complaint
Trademe is a joke Shame on the world
Have been ripped off on their $#*! website, useless customer service, incompetent to the core while the scammers can continue trading without any consequence
$#*! you trademe, bunch of morons
Took down my account because they thought i had 2 accounts, i don't. They asked for a drivers licence. I said i didnt have one (i don't) and thet stopped replying, didnt even refund the money i had left on the account.
I love buying and selling from Trademe website. Even though the website itself is very poorly designed at least it's working.
I hate to deal with Trademe customer support staffs. Extremely RUDE, IGNORANT AND MEAN.
Hope you never need to contact them, or trust me, you will face accusations from them, they can't read, don't listen to what happened. Most of the time told me off to contact buyer/seller myself. Useless people hired.
I have been trying to withdraw my money from tradeMe since December 2018 and the withdrawal request remain pending until I reached out to a recovery expert Dellj4001{AT}. Com, he guided me on what to do and helped me recover my money back.
As soon as I registered and deposited money into this site, I was no longer able to access or navigate the site in any way. Unfortunately I only lost £500 but could easily have been more! I was able to recover my lost funds with the help of a recovery expert agent who help me get back 90$ of my lost funds, if it wasnt for him i would have been ripped off
Aside from the scams that (apparently) happen, the website itself is actually quite presentable and thoroughly easy to navigate, while it's not anything really special to look at, the focus is buying and selling items and it's worked fine for me for the past few years, I guess trust is necessary but you can avoid dealing with suspicious people based on their "positive feedback" but I guess that's just me.
Trademe closed my account claiming i had multiple accounts with no explanation about my 'other' accounts they claim i have... They have forced me to use a very old email address account i used to have years ago. I stopped using it as it had a stupid name and email address. I am not a scammer or bad trader and have never had bad feedback this is ridiculous
Been scammed and the support staff hang up the phone when I told them I was scammed! Absolutely no support, shocking!
It is really really dump site, it has even no control over its own policies. No equal rights for sellers.
TradeMe is awful. Period. They charge you ($1.99 a minute for unhelpful customer service, which can't provide a solution anyway because they take no responsibility for anything that happens on the site. They will sometimes randomly delete your account without warning and refuse to fix it without providing a full list of information about yourself. Stupid website with even more stupid people running it.
No protection against bad buyers as there are many that do not complete sales and trademe doesn't stop them
The listing fees alone are a joke. Buyer protection is a joke... I fell safer buying from AliExpress or eBay (which are filled with scammers) than Trade-Me. This site is a joke which is festering slowly... It's the internet equivalent of a cesspool.
Bought & sold on here for years... may still buy, but are going to move away from selling. We were selling in completely good faith some pre-loved designer items for which we had no proof of authenticity, so they removed them & smacked us with 'final warning' notices etc. I can understand them removing items if we had breached any legal stuff unwittingly by listing them, but to repeatedly & rudely punish on top of the item removal a long time trader with a near-flawless feedback record in the manner they did, was too bitter a pill to swallow! Best not to start with these guys, or if you do and want to avoid our experience, never never sell any high value or designer item on there. There are other alternative sites which we figure will gain in popularity if Trademe continue with the same sort of business tactics.
THIS PEOPLE ARE GOING FAR ABOVE THE CUSTOMER RIGHTS. FIRST YOU NEED YO PAY IF YOU PLACE AN ADD AND THEN IT TELLS YOU HOW LONG IS VALID FOR?! YOU MNAY BE BADLY SURPRISED WHEN YOU FIND OUT THAT THE ADD IS VALID FOR 3 WEEKS ONLY AND YOU HAVE PAID $100. HOWEVER FACEBOOK MARKETS ARE FOR FREE AND EVERYONE USING IT. I HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THE GOV!
I've sent half a dozen emails over the past week about a fraudulent auction I paid for through Ping and getting my money back. So far trademe staff have just entirely ignored this claim. I'm still out the money that I paid for a bunch of headphones that weren't what they claimed to be, it appears the Ping buyer protection is total bull$#*!.
It appears that sellers can effectively just lie and say a product is something that it is not to drum up the price (which is essentially fraud) and trademe has no problem with this happening on their site.
Not once in the reply emails they've sent me over the past 5 days has one person even addressed my refund claim. I'm utterly disgusted at the service they offer. When I posted bad feedback on the scammer they just posted bad feedback back on me, and I had to chase and chase trademe (including a $30 phonecall!) just to get that removed. And I'm still out the money that the seller scammed me out of. I shall be telling every person I possibly can that trademes buyer protection is a crock of $#*! and they just ignore you when you try to invoke it.
Such terrible service. They do not answer your questions. Everything is beat around the Bush. Soòoooooooooooo bad why do we keep going with you
So here is my experience as a seller on Trademe.
I would like to start with the moral of my story so you would be able to understand it better.
Trademe favours people with more feedbacks/reviews as compared to newer sellers/buyers trying to build up their profile irrespective of genuinity of the new seller.
I sold this phone on trademe a few weeks back and around 6 days after the buyer recieved the phone, the buyer emailed saying something is wrong with the phone where as when i sold it I was using it perfectly fine with no problems at all. I sold that phone since I got a new one as a wedding gift.So 6 days after the buyer (who appears to have a lot of reviews on trademe) recieves the phone he emails me saying something is wrong wit it. I told him that everything was fine when I sent the phone to him since I was using it till the minute I sent it to him. I asked the buyer why he did not report this problem as soon as he got the phone to which he said it was a bday gift for his son and did not open it for 5 days.So after weeks of going back and forth with the buyer and trademe. Trademe asked me to either refund the money or pay for the repairs for the phone. How can i be sure that the problem was not from the buyers side. That nothing went wrong on his side after he recieved the phone in the 5 days that he did not get back to me with a problem since I gave the phone in a properly functioning condition. Trademe supported the buyer who had more reviews as compared to me even when the buyer did not apparently open the phone for 5 days and did not report the problem till the 6th day. Normally a person would check the electronic that they have ordered to make sure everything is functioning well and we would be more cautious if it is an used electronic thats what my understanding is.
Basically trademe just supported the buyer since he had more reviews and asked me to refund the money or pay for repairs irrespective of my genuinity or even thinking about my genuiness for once, just because i did not have as many reviews and am just trying to build up my profile.
It is a very evident bias that has been potrayed by trademe in this case. I would now think 1000s of times before selling something on trademe. Namit satam
I was selling my car on trademe and had another item that had sold on trademe but the trade had not completed i. E I have not been paid.
It was about $25 commission!
My car add came up for renewal at the same time, (which is a $80 add) and I was blocked from renewing my car add until I had paid the commission! This is just bad business to block a $80 add over $25 commssion for a sale I hadn't even completed yet!
