ThisisBlythe has a rating of 1.5 stars from 3 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. ThisisBlythe ranks 25th among Dolls sites.
I purchased a doll sold as a "Premium Custom Blythe Doll," with a description clearly suggesting a handmade, high-quality, customized product.
After receiving the item, I realized that the doll is identical to standard mass-produced models sold on AliExpress, both in appearance and accessories, but available there at a much lower price.
This makes the product description highly misleading: the item does not match what is advertised as "premium" or "custom."
I contacted the company to request a return, but my request was refused, despite the website strongly emphasizing reassuring return policies.
Only afterward did I read many reviews similar to mine, reporting the same issues:
Resale of industrial, mass-produced products marketed as "custom"
Heavily inflated prices compared to AliExpress
Difficulty or outright refusal of returns
Uncooperative and hostile behavior toward dissatisfied customers
The product itself is not unusable, but the real problem is the deceptive representation and lack of transparency.
Unfortunately, like many other reviewers before me, I am now receiving serious threats and intimidation after posting a negative review of this website, which I believe has scammed me. The situation is extremely serious and has turned into a nightmare.
I strongly advise not purchasing from this seller. Please do thorough research and compare the same items on other marketplaces before buying — and be aware of the potential risks involved.
I am an online doll reviewer and blogger, and I purchased almost $300 worth of products from this site for one of my reviews. In the review, I talked about how the products are nice, but I'd found similar things elsewhere for about half the price. This is a fact. In cases where there was a possible explanation for the price hike, I did my best to explain that, too. I also gave an overview of the imitation Blythe market as a whole. It was a fair, unbiased review. However, it has earned me months of harassment from the shop owner. She first asked me to edit my review to suit her liking (she wanted me to remove mention of all her competitors), and when I failed to do that to her exact specifications, she started sending me fake legal notices and tracking down my children online. The products are fun, but I would highly recommend buying them elsewhere--there are plenty of alternatives. This is not a nice company.
Since Sept 27 2020 I have been waiting on a doll for 89.99 and ordered shoes for her too. I have been told lies like the doll was in the states and they are keeping an eye on it, even though the fake tracking never moved from its original spot in China. Then they said it was a special order and it will take a little longer to get out of China and they were going to give me a bunch of freebies for my wait. Was it in China or the states? You gotta be smarter than that if you are going to lie! I then told them I waited far too long that it obviously was not coming and I wanted my money back. (See attachment of notice number 2) They will not respond to give me my money back! Do not buy from thisisBlythe.com! I have asked several times for a refund and have since gotten e-mails from them saying they are going to take action against me, then another one said they would give me my money back only if I would remove the offending reviews. They were going to sue me for the reviews which hurts their business. For giggles I posted a picture of the Cease and desist they sent me!
Then they responded to the review on another site saying Pay Pal dismissed the case because I would not wait long enough for the doll! PayPal did not dismiss this case. They owe me money for some shoes too because they were for a doll that they fraudulently said they would sell me. Don't believe any fake positive reviews online they are scammers!
