Lawn mowing service

I used TaskEasy for a one time lawn mowing treatment over memorial day weekend since my lawnmower broke. The contractor they used broke my fence gate and I have been in a ongoing battle with them to simply make the repairs. Their contractor denies they did it and since I dont have "video" proof Taskeasy is trying not to be accountable. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE unless your at home and you walk the property after they finish to look for damage. I am now contacting the BBB and disputing all charges to my credit cards in an attempt to get my gate fixed.

TaskEasy has charged me full price multiple times for incomplete work. They charge you when you decline the tasks without contacting you before the charges show up. Most contractors don't finish the work and you get multiple rescheduling of service.

Bad company that does not do the task.

This is a terrible business. I found it online, filled out the form and got a quote to mow my lawn for $55. They sent me an e-mail telling me that a contractor would arrive in a few days to mow my lawn. The date came but the workers did not. I received an email apologizing and stating that a new date would be set. They set five or six different dates but the lawn was never cut. The grass continued to grow and grow. After about two weeks I received a call stating that because the grass was so long, the fee would now be $180. Do yourself a favor and run away from this company! RUN AWAY! FAST!

These guys are terrible. They will take your reservation and act like it's all set to go, when in reality, when you lock in your reservation, that's when they START to try to find a contractor that might or might not show up on that day to mow. Their communication is awful, as in they'll email you the day of and let you know no one is coming. That becomes a bit of a pain when it's to mow grass that KEEPS GROWING. If you're not sure the contractor can make it, don't act like the time slots are available. It's easier for me to just find a contractor and lock in a job than give it to a sub-par middleman, which is what TaskEasy appears to be. STAY AWAY.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!

This company is horrible. Within the past couple of years, there have been numerous rescheduling dates. This year they reschedule not once, not twice but three times... but the forth time (and 4 weeks after my last mowing) they tell me that they are terminating my service because they don't have contractors in the area. They should told me 3 weeks ago. Last year they came to the house, took pictures and didn't do a thing except charge my card. My bad that I didn't terminate them first. Again, horrible service. DON"T USE THEM. THEY ARE VERY UNRELIABLE!

Worthless

This year, they missed mowing after mowing with no communication. Same as you see in the other reviews - I'd call after each missed mowing, they'd deliver some obsequious, scripted customer service language, and nothing would be solved. Time after time, they would assure me they understood my frustration, apologize profusely, and assure me they would rectify the situation (before directly and shamelessly asking me to give them a positive rating in the automated customer satisfaction survey at the end of each call), but my lawn continued to go without mowing. You're much better off finding a provider yourself, since all TaskEasy has to offer is neglected lawns, poor communication, and unnecessary frustration.

In the past Task Easy was great, however for the last year every appointment gets missed and rescheduled multiple times. I was signed up for bi-weekly lawn mowing. But they have not shown up for the last 4 weeks. I have called and emailed over and over with no one able to correct the issue. They offered to reschedule me next week which puts my lawn on 5 weeks without a mow. So I told them to cancel me. I would not recommend this company to anyone after my experience.

Task Easy not so easy

Approximately 5 years ago, I signed up with TaskEasy (TE) for lawn/garden maintenance and care. Their sign up is rather simple online as you outline, via satellite, the sections of your lawn that needs tending. TE finds a contractor locally or not so local to maintain your lawn. When the contractor is finished with the work, he/she takes pictures of your lawn and garden area showing their completion of their work and posts it on TE's website for "review". The homeowner has a choice of biweekly service or weekly service with the option to skip service if service is not needed. TE gradually increases their service cost by approximately 1 dollar every year.

Their website is interactive and gives you two choices, (Approve or Work Needed). If you are happy with the work, you can choose Approve, which then TE would process the payment. If you are not happy with the work, TE "should" postpone payment until the work is correctly completed.

During our 5 years with TE, we had only requested approximately 3 payment holds for work that was sub par. These requests were never answered by TE and payments were promptly forwarded to the contractor. TE has no auditors in the field to audit contractors work. Neither do they follow up with you regarding your hold request. TE always takes the contractors word that the work was completed without verification. To put it in simple terms, their business model is to take the customers money without the customer having any say in the contractors quality of work

TE then began changing its policy without notice. TE placed my property on "Off Season", which means service will stop until TE deems service to resume; usually off season in the winter months. In previous years, I would "skip task" every month if service was not needed which was convenient for me as I would physically see when my lawn needed service. The first instance, I advised TE that I had not placed my property on "Off Season", which they promptly reinstated.

After placing my property on "off season" for a second time without our consent, I called and asked them why we were placed "off season"? TE advised that they were charged for a "drive by",(contractor driving by the property) every time I skipped a service. Which means this change of policy was to save them money. Side note; I never observed my contractor "drive by" and I usually skipped service once a month.

The last instance before I cancelled my service was when they changed contractors. The new contractor did not complete prior work that was completed for 5 years. I selected "needs work" and advised TE that they had missed a large portion of my lawn and that the lawn was not cut to the appropriate depth. I retraced my lawn and forwarded it to TE. TE advised that due to liability reasons the lawn portion that I traced was unserviceable as a portion fell into my neighbors property. Apparently they fail to understand the bonding and insurance of contractors. After 5 years of servicing my property, (including a portion of neighbors property) TE refused to service the same portion of property, charging me the same area and rate of previous service.

TE's services do not hold the contractor accountable, ever. They believe review of contractors work via 2 to 3 pictures the contractor takes is sufficient, which usually misses the incomplete/improper areas. They have NO auditors or follow-up team to personally inspect contractor work, but have a pretense that they do, which is fraud. Later, after collaborating with some contractors, they advised TE would withhold payment to contractors, attempting at all cost to find a reason to reject their work so as to pocket the full payment by the customer. They are scammers who find a niche as a middle man to skim money off of hard working people. Their premise is inviting, but to the average person, their service is below subpar and not needed. Dealing with a contractor directly does increase accountability, work ethic and decrease cost, which is the option we opted for.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS

They make you wait a whole week to get service scheduled, then reschedule it after all that. I asked to cancel and they said they needed 24 hours, but ignored the fact that they cancelled my service with 2 hours left in the same day they were supposed to be there. Don't waste your time they give you a run around

Contractor for taskeasy

Consistently pay below market rates no mater what the task. Take out insurance from the payout even though I have my out health care insurance, but did not "accept" it. Showed up to jobs where they have been skipped by other contractors and grass is double the length, or most recently over 17 inches of snow on ground and wanted to pay only $89 for a clean up that should be over $200. They don't have much market share in my area except for a rental home customer and it's a constant battle to get a few extra $ to properly
Do the work. They've rejected a few jobs for the smallest issues. Bad service for home owner and contractor both.

I am a person that normally does not write reviews of any kind. On rare occasion a service or product is either so good or so bad that I decide to write a review. When I started with task easy I thought it would be a good service since it seemed convenient; and, I liked that they would send pictures when they finished their work. But, it is actually terrible. I am a very patient person that tries to think the best and give a chance; but, this is just too much. They have done so many reschedules that twice I decided to just skip the service and mow my own lawn because weeds are now taking over since it is not getting proper regular cuts. I thought surely a lawn company cannot be so bad with their schedules that they have to reschedule so many times. It would be one thing if the reschedule was weather related; but, most reschedules seem to happen on days that are perfect for lawn mowing - so, it makes no sense. Attached is a picture of the latest rescheduling of my service plus screenshot of what the weather report is like for my area per the days shown in the rescheduling. I am on their bi-weekly schedule. With this many reschedules, if you were a weekly customer, you may be lucky to get bi-weekly service. I pay for lawn mowing service because I want to not have to worry about mowing my lawn. With this service, I am either worried on when they will finally show up Or have to mow my own lawn to have peace of mind. Clearly it is past due time for me to cancel this service which I plan to do. If you are considering to get this service, I hope this review will be of help.

HORRIBLE COMPANY

Do not waste your time - they will schedule and cancel - promise someone will be there - nobody ever shows up. Asked to speak to a supervisor or manager multiple times, they can not find one and offer a call back in 24 to 48 hours.

Where I'm at dependable landscapers are few and far between. I spent a lot of my own time calling and tracking down landscapers to mow my lawn before I found Taskeasy. Based on my previous experience I was a little skeptical that they could assign a quality landscaper in my area, but soon enough I received an email confirming my next appointment and within days someone came out and mowed my lawn. No problems or red flags for me, it's been pretty simple and straightforward.

I have been pleased with the services provided by Taskeasy. One time a contractor didn't finish my lawn and I called. It was fixed before the weekend. They really do care about the customer. I started it as a one time deal but keeping it going.

Not a good service

Used to work with task easy, not working with them anymore due to below market pay, sending you to jobs that have already been done, making you go back to accounts for unreasonable things and making you spend too much time doing photo shoots of each lawn before and after service. Better for contractor and homeowners to skip the middle man

I signed up for weekly service and no one showed up. After 3 week I started complaining and they finally came out and did a nice job cutting the grass. After the one time they never showed up again. I contacted Taskeasy and told them I needed my grass cut and they decided to just cancel my service. (TaskEasy has discontinued Task #)
I guess business must really be good when you only work if you feel like it and can fire your customers if they complain.
Do not use Taskeasy if you want some one to show up more than once a month.
