The overall reputation of Suddenlink is significantly marred by persistent complaints regarding service reliability and customer support. Customers frequently express frustration over frequent service outages, poor internet performance, and inadequate responses to issues. While some positive feedback exists regarding the initial sales experience, the overwhelming sentiment is one of dissatisfaction, highlighting a lack of effective communication and resolution from customer service. Many customers feel trapped due to the lack of alternative providers in their areas, leading to a sense of helplessness and a desire for better service options.

I don't personally have suddenlink but there is a twitch steamer that I regularly watch who does. The amount of DROPPED FRAMES AND CRASHES absolutely disgusts me. The worst part is, he's forced to use it because of where he lives. I even have friends who are forced to use it, everytime I go to there house the internet is terrible, SUDDENLINK GET YOUR DAMN $#*! TOGETHER! If you have the choice to get something else, please do. Don't force yourself to go through the pain. It's not worth anything.
Started TV and internet 40 days ago. Intermittent drops of internet from day one.
After 36 days of service, lose Ethernet (Wireless worked) Had to spend hour on phone,. Wait almost 3 days for "service tech" to show up. He replaces cable modem/router, does not wait to see if cable tv is working (says it "takes a bit"), just leaves. It does not come on. Next day on phone with customer service for hour and a half about cable service, company schedules another "service call"for next day. Tech comes in, changes story at least twice what is wrong (blames tech from two days ago), changes DVR, says hookup DVR will take an hour, and he leaves.
After 5 hours, TV is still not receiving all channels, wife has been on phone with company, on multiple calls for over 45 mins, with the only progress is "I will call you right back".
When they text that service is restored don't believe them. After Laura 4 weeks later our business is dead in the water because we bundled phone and internet. Call ATT and they are willing to pull fiber optic to get business going. Home will be ATT as soon as it's available. They will not get another dime from me as soon as there are any option.
For the past 5 years now my internet has been going out on a regular basis, daily here in pineville LA. I am switching to AT&T soon and would have switched much, much earlier had it been available to me. Countless of techs, engineers, and customer service reps and half a decade later, the same putrid service and daily outages occur. The recent hurricane Lara has only heightened my already boiling frustration and anger with this company due to the fact that I have not had a connection in over two weeks. Where are all the techs and engineers when I need them the most? I have called a dozen times and it's always the same; wait on hold for hours and hours only to eventually get hung up on. If I had the amount of money and power needed to bring this greed ridden, corporate abomination down, I would gladly do so in a heartbeat. $#*! this company to hell. The end.
I was looking into getting a new internet service and Suddenlink was available in my area. I called to see what the pricing would be and the amount of disrespect coming from customer service was ridiculous. They do not care about helping you. She gave me pricing for TV + Internet after telling her 4 times I only wanted internet. Then I asked for all pricing on all services I qualified for, she then would only offer one at a time and pressure me into getting one specific plan. I told her I was not interested, she hung up without any kind of "goodbye" "thank you for calling", NOTHING. I will never recommend this service to ANYONE!
Suddenlink is a joke. I paid my bill on time every month, yet they didn't process my payment till after my due date. Which they have now put as I paid my bill late when I have proof I have always paid it on time. Then when I ask to speak to a supervisor to fix the problem I am told I am not allowed to speak to a supervisor. Then when I ask them why I can't they hang up on me without responding to my question. They have no respect for their customers. They have gotten rude with me for asking why they are claiming my bill is late.
They tryed to fix twice still BAD! Service and no concern or help from suddenlink. I am cancelling service! A waste of money!
STAY AWAY FROM SUDDENLINK!
It's ALL about greed, and no compassion for those in need. After the initial 1 yr contract, they [as of June '20] raised my rate by about $15/month, which, for me, equals about about one months $ for food. What makes it worse, is that SuddenLink is, literally, sole provider as there is no competition in our area; they can, and will charge whatever they like, since there are no other options to choose from. Spoke to their rep over the phone, and their response was: "Too bad, so sad", and make sure you pay us on time! It is what it is... but I don't have to like it!
Didn't give discounted prices as advertised. Unable to reach anyone except for call center for purchasing services. Refuse to allow you to speak with a supervisor. Lies about having a supervisor call you back. Rude and poorly trained. Should be denied license to provide services.
WE HAD GREAT SERVICE TECH SUPPORT WHEN IT WAS CEBRIDGE AND THEN SUDDENLINK FOR PAST 4 YEARS WE HAVE HAD TERRIBLE SERVICE. THEY GOT RID OF MOST TECH CENTERS THAT HELPED YOU. COUNTING THE CEBRIDGE ERA I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR 43 YEARS. ALTICE BY FAR IS AS WORTHLESS AS CAN BE. THEY NOW BLAME EVERYTHING ON COVID 19 THEY WERE TERRIBLE BEFORE THAT. STATES 20 MIN WAIT. HAVE WAITED UP TO 2.5 HOURS FOR HELP LAST TIME WAS OVER 1 HOUR. STILL NOT FIXED THEY TAKE 2 WKS PLUS TO GET A TECH OUT TO YOUR HOME, MEANTIME CANNOT CALL OUT ON PHONE. THEY TRY TO SELL MORE THINGS THEY CANNOT TAKE CARE OF WHAT THEY HAVE OUT THERE. THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY ON SERVICE FOR OUR AREA, NO ONE ELSE BUT FRONTIER WILL COME IN. REASON LEFT FRONTIER TOOK THEM 11 DAYS TO FIX PHONE LINE YEARS AGO WHEN A TRUCK TORE IT OUT. IF YOU CAN GET ANYTHING ELSE GO THERE STAY AWAY FROM THIS ALTICE COMPANY THEY ARE THE MAIN OWNER OF SUDDENLINK NOW
I would basically describe Suddenlink/Altice as "Not quite as terrible as their competition." All telecom companies are basically monopolies. They all charge as much as they can get away with. Wherever you are, you probably have up to two companies to choose from. AT&T is always the most expensive. The other company is usually slightly cheaper than AT&T. As it is with Altice/Suddenlink.
Starting this year, they jacked up their illegal "internet enhancement fee" another dollar a month and doubled my monthly price while reducing the data cap from 250GB to 150GB. How's that for a greedy company? My only alternative is to pay more even for AT&T or go without internet altogether.
Just look at all the bad 1 Star reviews here. SUDDENLINK SUX
When I had problems with Suddenlink, I contacted the FCC, assuming they would look into the issue. To make a long story short, that's when I leaned the FCC does not enforce regulations. That's the FTC which handles enforcement. But the FTC is overloaded with more important issues than to deal with us lowly consumer surfs.
Suddenlink/Altice is owned by some gazillionaire living in Switzerland. Good luck trying to fight a company like that. They don't care because their customers have no choice but to select them or another crooked utility. That's capitalism in the good ol' USofA!
UPDATE April 2021:
A friend gave me some tips on how to finagle a discount out of Suddenlink. Now I pay $45/mo for more data and faster than I'll ever use. I'd describe here how to get it for yourself, but to say it was complicated would be a huge understatement. So all I can really say is that it can be done, but you'll need luck and a whole lot of patience and perseverance.
They suck at communication, didn't even tell me they cancelled my appointment just didn't show up wasted my time. Made me lose money since I only worked half day today to be here for them when they showed up. Then tell me it's gonna be a week before they can get back out here. I'm in college and due to COVID it's all online and I don't even have WiFi now thank suddenlink for your great business!
NEVER choose this racket if you have any choice at all. Your bill will go up monthly and your services will go down. If you sign up with this racket you will come to regret it very quickly.
Raising price internet data caps no value... i switch to dish got frontier internet no data cap may not be as fast but i can count on frontier than suddenlink... and years after i cancelled they came to my house wanted me to come back i told them NO. Cancelled suddenlink and get something else dish or directv not suddenlink.
We had arson fire damage to our suddenlink box. Had to call several times to get a tech out to fix it while our phone/internet was down, bad for my business. Finally get a tech out, guy literally cussed me out using the F word because Suddenlink set up my account as residential. I live on site at my business so it is both residential and commercial. Tech refused to fix our phone/internet until I changed the way our account was set up. Until I called his boss who really didn't care this tech was aggressive for no good reason uuuuugh I hate Suddenlink!
I have had suddenlink for 6 years, nonother options. Intermittent service... call customer service and talk to someone who can barely speak english. Each time i am told i have a bad router. I have had to replace router 5 times in a month. Now i am having to pay for them to bring a router. I am buying their service, renting the equipment and i have to pay them to bring it. I bought 3 different routers to use, called suddenlink to connect, each time i was told router wont work. These were routers listed for suddenlink. Customer service is horrible... barely understsnd them when they talk, cant speak english very well. If you have other options avoid suddenlink.
See ice is always out zero customer service and the bill is stupid high, my service is out 3 to 5 times a week they refuse to do anything to fix the issue
To whom it may concern I don't know what in the hell is going on here, for the last 3 months I have had intermittent service I have had my bill card overcharge several times I have called every day for the last few months and still have the problem, and it is not resolved and have no compensation whatsoever and has been told that I would be assured that the problem will be taken care of and somebody would show up never happens! Our office in Sedona Arizona is not open I have waited for hours and hours on the phone get told and reassured that the problem will be solved has not been solved
I have had problems ever since they got altice. This last episode took the cake, my wife called them the last week in may to get additional box for our TV in the bedroom, they set appointment for Thursday June 4th between 8:00 am - and 11:00. We waited, and waited finally at around 12:00 pm she calls them and they tell her there was no such appt., she tells them when she called they again tell her no, they tell her the last time we called was in April and that was for an extension on our bill. My wife said no we did not the rep. Begins to argue and wfe asks to speak to someone higher up he says ok she waits for a good 5 minuets and he says someone will get back to her within 24 hours. Guess what, not a call one and oh by the way my wife called on the 3 Rd of June and paid our bill he said no record of that she says there better be.
We've had Suddenlink for a couple years now and it was generally good internet service. They were recently purchased by Altice and ever since that happened, the internet service has been pure $#*!. We pay for the fastest internet service they offer in our area (gigabit) and it was blazing fast before Altice came into the picture. Now, our internet speeds are ridiculously inconsistent and it constantly goes out for ~30 seconds before working again. They gave us a new modem, but still terrible internet service. I truly don't understand how or why another company would purchase Suddenlink and make the internet service so awful. The only other option in this area is Frontier and they suck too. These expensive internet companies are screwing rural America and making us pay for the pleasure.
Answer: Would not hAVE DONE IF THERE HAD BEEN AN ALTERNATIVE.
Answer: It's impossible to speak to an intelligent person at suddenlink. I've even had them constantly put me on hold, while they figure out why I'm being charged five dollars for changes they made to my account. One time they called me back just to hang up on me.
