I had a very poor experience with Studocu's refund process.

I subscribed to a one month free trial, and used only within the trial period. I noticed my account got debited for the annual plan ($88.98 AUD). I cancelled the subscription immediately on the same day (netherlands time zone) after being charged.

Studocu's own policy states that a full refund is available where no documents are viewed or downloaded after payment.

I reached out to them immediately, explained the situation and requested a full refund.

My full refund was repeatedly denied by Studocu customer service agents Alex, Iokasti, and Paola, and kept suggesting a partial refund for allegedly inadvertently accessing the document in the process of cancelling, with no evidence or logs to support their claims.

It became clear during their emails that the claimed "view" coincided with the time I was cancelling my subscription and lasted seconds, suggesting an incidental or automatic page load was treated as "usage." When I raised this, along with concerns under the Australian Consumer Law about misleading and unfair application of policy terms, these legal issues were completely ignored and staff continued to deny refunds.

The cancellation completion time was at "12:20:19 AEDT" and they alleged that I had accessed the document at "12:19:43 AEDT", same as the time of cancellation. So my cancellation was treated as document access, and used to take my money.

Requests for escalation, clarification, and proof were repeatedly disregarded. The reasoning for denying a refund also shifted over time.

Based on this experience, I would discourage others from using Studocu trials and automatic renewals, as the refund policy is not applied transparently or fairly. This is not a service I would recommend, find it untrustworthy.

They have till date not provided me a full refund.

Its likely these same agents will reach out to talk about this via email once again, but the constant refusal to take my concern seriously and deny full refunds based on inconsistent and changing rules means this is just being dragged on, rather than solved.

An immoral site that expects you to forget about your subscription.

They use a different name for the subscription charges so you don't know what it's for. When you contact them and ask for a refund of the charges for the months you did not use, they tell you that you agreed to automatic deductions no matter what. They refuse to refund you the many months you forgot, despite the fact that many reputable brands will do this for their customers to keep them happy.

Additionally, most of the files on Studocu are available on the internet and you do not need to pay them to see these files.

This whole business is immoral. If you expect customers to forget their subscriptions and that is what keeps your lights on, you shouldn't be a business to begin with. I can afford the missing $100 easily, but now I'm leaving negative reviews in exchange for that $100.

The STUDOCU platform was working well in the beginning, as it was offering several advantages to help students, the platform organized more than 25 million people around the world, and it had strong popularity at the beginning.
But in recent times, and because of some modifications to the system, users began to complain about the platform in terms of subscriptions, refunds, and selling notes, and it was classified as a scam
