Spectrum speed is the pits. We are paying for 200mbps, however we only get 2mbps. When we call them for a service call, they always find some part to replace. Then for 2 days we get our 200mbps we are paying for, but after that our speed goes back down to 2mbps.

Been a customer of Sprectrum for over 17 years. Not sure what is up with today's Sprectrum but the past 4 months have been a nightmare and as a customer who works from home I almost lost my job over the poor service we received. Every call was riddled with references that I didn't know what I was talking about and they don't see a problem in our area. We were told tickets were being created and then later when we called to check after the time had elapsed for their promised response times low and behold, they had no record of the ticket and they would open a new ticket and start the clock over. They would send a field technician out and then report that it wasn't from the post to the house and that it would have to be turned over to maintenance. When you would call to check we were told sorry but cannot see maintenance tickets. When asked to talk to someone in maintenance we were told that they don't have phones, I find it odd that as a mobile phone provider they have employees in maintenance and maintenance supervisors without phones. Maybe they do have phones, but their service works about as good as my internet service. Lol. Just be warned that if you have a problem everyone will be very quick to say "I'm sorry" but that doesn't mean they are sorry enough to get you taken care of.

When we went to cancel even though there billing statements say "Your first bill covers your first day of service through your first full
Billing cycle." They say this isn't prorating. Sprectrum has their own interpretation of what words mean.

Just be warned if you have any other choices for internet take it and whatever you do don't bundle you phone with their other services as you will need you phone to call them a LOT.

Good luck finding another internet provider.

I have had an ongoing issue of Specttum charging me after I shut down my service, turned in all my equipment and paid my final bill. I've had to call 6 times to resolve the issue. I was on hold for over 58 minutes on my first initial call. After the 5th time of calling I was a little irritated and the "Supervisor " told me I didn't want to make her upset! Really! Girl don't scare me or threaten me! Dealing with this company is great when hooking up services but when it comes to shutting it down they are a night. Watch your e-mail, bank accounts and credit reports because they'll snag you if you don't stay on top of them!

Unauthorized billing
October 13, 2023

So, a lady approached me at Walmart and ask me about Spectrum services and I told her I don't make any of these decisions by myself. He is the person that has the last word on anything to do with any kind of services to our house. And I specifically told Tomeka (if that is even her name), that I would have to go home and ask to see if my husband wants Spectrum's services. Got home and my husband said no. And then without even getting back with Tomeka, we get a box of Spectrum's equipment at our doorstep from them. First of all, we never told her that we were accepting their services. And a week or two after returning Spectrum's equipment back, we get a bill from them! This representative of Spectrum has a shady way of doing business and for that, Tomeka needs to be fired! That's just wrong! So now, when we move….we will not even consider getting Spectrum services in the future. I did considered it before, but definitely not now! Even AT&T has never stooped this low! They may be a bit more expensive….but we have never had anything this shady happen with them! So now, we will make sure if any of our friends and/or family even considers acquiring Spectrum services….we will convince them to not do it!

When I went into the Spectrum store I was told I would be charged 69 per month but my bill says 84. Wouldn't credit back the 15 overcharge, only part of it. Looking for a new company who won't lie to me. Bait and switch.

Always lying
October 11, 2023

I can't tell you how many times Spectrum has lied to me. My "3 year price guarantee" was just violated in the middle of that time period with an unannounced $10 raise. I'm moving and will switch to T-Mobile but do yourself a favor and NEVER get in with Spectrum. Their entire business model is to hit you with unexpected raises and hope you don't complain.

Horrible cable
October 10, 2023

I had Diectv for years and it always worked. With Spectrum, they keep raising their prices, most of the channels rarely work, it has to initialize at least 3-4 times a week. Don't waste your money!

There should be a way to reach company administration for complaints. I believe employees are told to say there is no way to reach anyone in management or administration or to make a complaint. If you try to phone in, you can never get the same person. I finally did get someone supposedly in administration that said they would get back to me about a complaint, but they never did. I had a salesman in the store attack me physically, and the company allowed them to continue to work there.

Never good service. Technician came out, I explained I wanted to cut cable. He took the box and said he will turn it in, then I could cancel billing. He never turned it in. Customer service rep was a b*tch and accused me of stealing the box. Why would I want that box? I'm trying to cut my cable cost. Why don't you just ask the technician? Still can't cancel cable bill even with no cable box or service. Internet is trash and I work from home.

I called Spectrum weeks ago to cancel Wi-Fi service and they never informed that I would be billed for an entire month even if I only had the service for two weeks. I called in to inquire about this and the agent was rude and disrespectful about charging me for services I wouldn't receive. I asked for a manager. As Kenneth, "The Lead" answered the phone he introduced himself as Kenneth followed by, "Spectrum clearly states that they have no prorate policy for services and I had a problem with that policy!" Wow, no wonder Spectrum Corporate is making high profits, charging for services they never provide and having agents be their minions in this Deceptive Business practices scheme. Corporate GREED is real and alive in this aristocratic business market.

Don't use Them. THEY HAVE BE HOUNDING ME FOE $134 FOR 3 YEARS. THEY turned me into a lawyer and I have proof that we canceled the day after we set up our new service with AT&T fiber. We didn't use any of their service that month and they still charged us. A lawyer for $134. They must be desperate for money like Blockbuster was.

Longer your a great customer the more they dig their hands in your pockets and bend you over. Valued customer is what they call us. Get new customers trap them in for 1 year with ideal pricing. Wait till year 2 when there's no promotions and you can't change anything because you have a phone plan. Can't cancel internet unless you want to pay an extra 20 bucks per line. Used to be 50 bucks. Now I'm paying 120 for internet and what they call basic cable. Don't enter trap!

Spectrum's internet is a JOKE! Unfortunately zero stars isn't an option!
I have had people at my house more than four times in over six months! Not to mention I've had spectrum for 4+ years now and my Wi-Fi is always gone in and out in and out and I just dealt with it. I'm at a breaking point. And I refuse to deal with it any longer.

The first time someone comes out, they wiggle some wires in the back of my house and say the l wires were loose! 20 minutes later internets not working!
Also, when I first got spectrum, they refused to run a cable down to my basement for the TV because ""my house is too old" my house is not that old they're lazy.

The technicians are lazy. Not to mention the third time I had someone sent out. He was so nice and great but smelled awful. It was disgusting. My house smelled for at least over 25 minutes not to mention, lighting every candle in my house, and every spray I could find.
The fourth time they switched out my boxes even him admitting I can't find anything wrong. I don't know what the problem is.!
I've had nothing but issues since I've had spectrum!
Your Internet could be out for days and they only compensate you a dollar plus a day!
Not to mention, they can't normally get anybody out that day or days after!
Customer service people are always polite and nice but honestly there's nothing they can do they offer to send someone out!
Rebooting daily is a joke it shouldn't need to be done daily!
They supposedly send out updates yet I'm told over the phone. My router modem update doesn't go through and I need to call to have it updated.
Why should I have to call you to update my system and inconvenience myself?
140+ dollars for $#*!!
I literally feel like spectrum does not care about their customers whatsoever!
Beware, if you do get spectrum, you will deal with issues not to mention them upping your bill without any communication that they're raising prices for crappy, crappy, crappy Internet! The audacity to raise prices when you're not even getting the service that you're already paying for! Hmmm!
I will never ever use spectrum again. I don't care if it was free I would never ever use spectrum!
So I suggest you use caution, while even thinking about using spectrum for anything!

SPECTRUM INTERNET SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!
October 5, 2023
Updated review

Spectrum internet service (I use "service" broadly) has become untenable. Their price for internet service has skyrocketed. But their service has declined. The service outages have increased in frequency and take place almost every heavy rain, high winds or even during perfectly normal weather conditions. Service always goes out during any active weather condition. And, like so many mega companies, once Spectrum has you as a customer, they couldn't care less about your service. Look for an alternative. I am.

Spectrum bait & switch
September 5, 2017
Previous review

Spectrum is in our neighborhood (man name Olumide) selling Spectrum services. Just a warning... the price and services quoted are not what you will get. We switched from Direct TV to save approximately $50 per month. However, with final installation we save only $20 per month. We were supposed to get 4 TV boxes included in our package but only received 1 for the price quoted. All said and done we are paying approximately $30 a month more than initially quoted. We will probably switch back to Direct TV or another provider. Just a word of caution.

What an absolute dumpster fire of a business
October 4, 2023

Spectrum's WiFi services have been nothing short of an absolute dumpster fire of an experience. From the abysmal customer service to their exorbitant prices and sneaky hidden fees, this company seems more interested in exploiting its customers than providing reliable internet.

First and foremost, let's talk about their customer service. It's not just bad; it's outright rude and unhelpful. When you call their support line, you're more likely to get a dismissive attitude than any actual assistance. It's as if they believe that once you're locked into a contract, they no longer need to treat you with respect or concern for your issues. I've spent countless hours on the line with representatives just to get hidden fees waved.

Next up, their pricing. Spectrum seems to think that they can charge whatever they want for their internet services, and sadly, many people (myself included) have little choice but to pay up due to limited competition in some areas. Their prices are outrageously high for the speeds they offer, and they seem to have no qualms about overcharging loyal customers who have been with them for years.

But the real kicker is the hidden fees. It's like a game of hide-and-seek with your wallet when you receive your bill. There are mysterious charges that appear out of nowhere, and good luck getting a straightforward explanation from their customer service. They intentionally obfuscate their pricing structure to squeeze every last penny out of their customers.

In an age where reliable internet is a necessity, Spectrum's predatory business practices are a slap in the face to their customers. They seem to operate on the principle that they can treat customers poorly because there are no better alternatives. It's a monopoly mentality that's detrimental to consumers.

Spectrum's WiFi services are a textbook example of everything that's wrong with the telecom industry. From their rude customer service to their overpriced internet plans and hidden fees, they consistently fail to meet even the basic standards of customer satisfaction. If you have any other option for internet service, I'd recommend exploring it rather than subjecting yourself to the frustration of dealing with Spectrum.

Awful service
October 3, 2023

Tried spectrum for two months. They charge an "activation fee" btw. Consistently shut on and off. I work in IT and I know what I'm doing. It was simply bad. Tried to call to cancel, left on hold for 20 minutes. Finally got a person and she was the ACTUAL Meanest lady I've ever spoken to on customer service. She called me a baby for complaining and wanting to cancel, then put me on hold to think about my attitude! Like WHAT?! 0/10 will never use spectrum again.

I wish there more options in my region. All day and night, shows interrupted to buffer every 20 minutes. Pictures pixalate. Although it is a hardwire cable service to the house... everything IN the house relies on wireless connectivity.

When we moved from one house to another we called to move service. They cancelled our auto-pay without notification, slapped us with a late payment penalty, and threatened to turn us in to a bill collector. We've been customers over 10 years. At the move, they told us to be present all day for delivery, signature required, of new equipment. Of course nothing was sent and they finally said, "Just hook up your old stuff." Now the billing is all fouled up. Their email notices don't correspond to their online information and you can barely ever talk with anyone. Awful. Even worse than the SNL skit abou them.
