SoulGen Is a Failed AI ExperienceMy experience with SoulGen has been extremely frustrating and not worth the cost. The biggest problem is the lack of consistency. Occasionally, maybe one out in five or ten attempts produces a genuinely good result. Those occasional successes create the expectation that the system is capable of delivering consistently. Unfortunately, most attempts turn out the exact opposite. The software frequently introduces visual elements that were never requested, generates unrealistic results or just bizarre hallucinations, ignores very specific instructions (likes ones related to wardrobe, background or character movements), and produces results that are dramatically different from the prompts you give it. The inconsistency makes the process feel less like a reliable creative tool and more like a spin at the roulette wheel where you're repeatedly trying your luck until you hope you get something usable. On top of that, there are definite ageism and body bias concerns. The software renders and reproduces older models (like 40 and up) with much less grace and generative integrity than it does younger models or characters. It turns older models into clownish figures when you don't intend them to look that way. And, in video extensions, the bodies you intended for your models tend to morph and skew toward certain standardized types, even after you've given the software explicit instructions to consistently render a different, preferred body type in the prompts. For instance, curvy bodies often get slimmer while chesty women get smaller. During shifts in body position or wardrobe changes, the software often forgets entirely the faces and body types you wanted and started with from your original prompts. And upgrading to a paid subscription failed to meaningfully improve the quality or consistency of the results. Whether using the free version or a paid annual subscription, I experienced the same problems. Paying for additional access doesn't solve the fundamental issue of unreliable output. You just spend more time and money on top of the money already wasted on a frustrating trial-and-error process. While I can see the potential for this kind of technology, sites like SoulGen are very far from producing consistently good quality output. I'm hoping there are better sites out there. I don't know. SoulGen is the first of its kind I've tried. But I would steer clear of this site.
